Yep to picture #2. I have ridden the hay baler many times, but we just called it 'hay'. Not alfalfa. Hay bales, hay rides, just hay. :floorlaugh:

I am with you on the sweet gum balls. Hurt when you step on them. They are pretty spray painted at Christmas but don't know any other use. Most people in the area use the pine bark mulch. And I am thinking now that the people I thought were spreading hay were actually spreading the pine...

Okay, I looked it up and I promise I have never seen it before. Probably in an area where there are pine trees it is more common. But, I will be on the look out for it. :floorlaugh: I haven't lived in the piney woods for long. Just to clarify.

I am not surprised. I have lived in Texas all my life and I have never heard of or seen pine straw especially bales of it. I am going to look it up. jmo

Dyed straw would be interesting in a flower bed or pot. jmo

Had a copperhead bite one of my dogs, but other than that haven't seen one. I killed 3 scorpions in my house one morning. I've got those strips that trap bugs, etc. and they work really well. Also have Terminex, but I think that just puts them on the run. lol

I thought they were just food for snakes to hide in. Guess I need to get a book on how to live in the woods of E. Texas. lol I don't know why I said 'food'. I meant places. Must be hungry.

What is pine straw? Is it something you purchase. What purpose does it serve? My only issue is I don't see any pine trees. I have pine needles all over my land and if it can be used for something useful I would like to know. Thanks.

It has been my experience at gambling parties real cash is not used. They use tokens paper monopoly money or something of the sort. jmo
