There are so many inconsistencies that it's hard to hit them all and no ONE problem rises to that Perry Mason moment (except maybe the gas can...looking forward to that)
The earlier statement about Travis not owning a gun is important. Jodi wouldn't want to lie about anything that she didn't...
For the last few days I've been really sad having to listen to Jennifer Willmott, but then I remembered that I'm not alone. We all have our cross to bear :giggle:
Walking through an MMPI result isn't easy and it's not for the faint of heart. JW is going to wander face-first into a lot of "That's not correct" responses from Dr. DeMarte if she tries to use single-scale interpretations. I can't imagine a better way to reinforce the jury's perception that the...
Someone needs to remind JW that Jodi didn't know that she shot him. All she knew was that the gun had gone off and that he threatened her and that hours later she was free of him.
Dr. DeMarte made a diagnosis, which is almost the definition (professionally speaking) of "sticking her neck out". She's not there to "help the victims", she's there to tell the truth. She's doing that impeccably by giving explanations and details where she's on firm ground and not making stuff...
I don't think she'd actually do that, so I suspect is was just muttering to herself. What I did notice, however, is that JA immediately looked up and Nurmi winces and moves his chair, so they seemed to hear something as well.
No one reads "journals". When you have an interest in a particular subject you find an article in a database. Someone needs to tell JW that it's not like subscribing to Cosmo.
I realized yesterday that I've been Juanified:
Me: Have you done your homework yet?
Daughter: I only have a little...
Me: Did I ask how much homework you have?
Daughter: You're creepin' me out Dad...
I'm not surprised that Dr. Drew would be critical of Dr. DeMarte. She did project a little stage fright at first and her voice got a little reedy at times. I guess the TV Dr. would focus on that (style vs. substance) and not notice that she steadied perfectly when discussing something other than...
I think I figured out what she's writing:
All work and no play make Jodi a dull girl
All work and no play make Jodi a dull girl
All work and no play make Jodi a dull girl
All work and no play make Jodi a dull girl
All work and no play make Jodi a dull girl...
I think Dr. DeMarte is wonderful, but more than that, she's representative of the true professionals in the field of psychology. So many "therapists" just adopt the language and then create their own definitions, interpretations and diagnoses out of whole cloth.
So many of the pop-sci books...
The judge has to let all of this in. After listening to ALV offer completely subjective opinions that she baked up in her "thinking brain", an objective measurement that is clinically validated has to be acceptable. Not letting it in would be like allowing someone to testify that an object was...
