    SIDEBAR #45 - Arias/Alexander forum

Haven't posted since first trial. Just a thought. I always *knew* she was guilty and the first trial did nothing but comfort that belief. However watching the trial and Jodi in the courtroom I did feel some pity for her. Not sure why I didn't believe any of the garbage she and the defense team...

Verdict is in! GUILTY of MURDER ONE - Hung Jury On Penalty Phase

Professional juries would violate the right to a trial by a jury of one's peers. And honestly don't you think after listening to a number of brutal cases that these professional jurors would become desensitized? And maybe compare one trial to another? As in "well this case isn't as bad as the...

Verdict is in! GUILTY of MURDER ONE - Hung Jury On Penalty Phase

Thanks Cricket. I also believe JSS would give her LWOP. In addition to seeing JA courtroom behavior I can only imagine what she has seen in those ex parte meetings as well as the alleged meltdown we have heard about that got her sent to the psyche ward. Maybe she saw a glimpse of what Travis...

Verdict is in! GUILTY of MURDER ONE - Hung Jury On Penalty Phase

Yeah I have visions of Nurmi in his mind saying...Whiskey. Foxtrot. Tango. Am I EVER going to be free of this ______.(fill in the blank as you wish ) :anguish: for Nurmi. :moo::seeya:

Verdict is in! GUILTY of MURDER ONE - Hung Jury On Penalty Phase

Not sure they have to offer her a plea. All they have to do is take the DP off the table and then JSS would sentence her to life with or without parole. No plea deal needed. She would only agree to life with parole after 25 years anyway. I would also like to take a moment and say that just...

Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch #4

Actually in the mitigattion phase the burden of proof is on the defense. It was stated by JSS in court. That is why defense went 1st and last with closing arguments in the mitigation phase. :moo:

    SIDEBAR #6- Arias/Alexander forum

Getting a little bit tired of hearing about Jodi's "mental illness" on HLN so I sent them an email. Wanted to comment on Jodi's "personality disorder." In my opinion personality disorders are not mental illnesses they are character flaws. There has to come an end to trying to classify bad...

    SIDEBAR #5- Arias/Alexander forum

In relation to some posts above regarding mitigation. I also believe it was stated maybe by JSS that the defense has to PROVE that the mitigating factors outweigh the aggravating factors. That the burden of proof was on the defense. IMO..the defense didn't prove anything except this CM has done...

Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch #3

Keep the faith websleuths. I don't think this jury would tell this judge that they were at an impasse after deliberating for only a few hours. Maybe the question as misunderstood. Either way they are deliberating now. If the jury comes back with a life sentence don't be disenchanted with our...

Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch #3

Just need to say ...just because one doesn't get the verdict or sentence that one wants does not mean our system of justice is broken. It just shows that different people see things in a different way. We are guaranteed a trial by a jury of our peers. If this criminal is sentenced to life in...

Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch #2

Is it possible we could have a mistrial here in the penalty phase due to the fact a jury instruction was omitted and the jury deliberated yesterday? Does anyone know?

Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch #2

No US Supreme Court says only juries can sentence death. :moo:

    Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch

If she gets LWOP she will never get out. If she gets a life sentence she can be paroled after 25 years. I think he was making the point if the jury does not return the DP there is a chance she can get a life sentence and be out in 25 years. JSS decides if she gets life or LWOP. Just a little...

    Penalty Phase #13

I think this jury will deliberate until they come to a unanimous verdict. They have way too much invested in this trial to allow another jury to come in and sentence the criminal. I mean if,I had spent almost 6 monthes on a trial I,would want to see through to the end.:moo:

    Penalty Phase #13

JSS will decide if Jodi gets Life with possibility of parole or LWOP. In my opinion she will sentence her to LWOP. She has seen a Jodi Arias few people have seen. I think she may have even seen the Jodi that Travis saw that day. With all of the meetings in chambers, the ex parte meetings in...

aggravation phase #8 - VERDICT - Extreme Cruelty PROVEN

Does anybody know where I can view the last of Juan's closing statement. The part after Nurmi with the 2 minutes silence. I had to pick my son up from school and I missed it! TIA. :seeya:

    Aggravation phase #7

She is testifying today, right?. I swear I get the feeling she is going to continue with her self defense angle. Nurmi was talking about how both of them were in fight or flight mode. WTH..doesn't she realize no one believes her.:banghead:

Aggravated waiting for the aggravation phase #6

I think she will be seething with nearly uncontrollable rage. She was able to ignore Dr DeMarte but to have people one after another after another telling her to her face what a horrible excuse for a human being she is ...not sure she will be able to handle it. Could make for an interesting...

    Aggravation phase #2

I wonder if she said something or did something or obscene gestured towards Travis's family? Didn't someone say they left the courthouse in tears? :notgood:
