Feeling very sad that one year ago tonight these 3 young people were ruthlessly and violently killed. And for what reason? Not that there EVER is any reason to kill someone - but still one year later and no answers as to why this happened. I remember this night clearly because I was at the...
Thanks for pointing that out Curious Me. I have a cousin who is schizophrenic and he tried to kill himself a couple of times. He was never violent to anyone but himself. Most males show signs of the disease by late teens or early twenties. It can be pretty much controlled as long as the person...
Good catch. While the search warrant states the last call Gianni is known to have made was to his cousin MD. It does not say which relative introduced Gianni to Feller. However, I did notice on social media that Feller is FB friends with one of Gianni's relatives. I don't want to break any...
The search warrant DOES say the relative/cousin was MD. See search warrant # 46712 - it states "The last call Gianni is known to have made was to his cousin Mario Donato."

According to police, GB met with the female drug dealer (can't remember her name) to purchase heroin that night at about 7pm. He later met with Chance Feller at about 11pm to purchase Xanax. (GB was introduced to CF by Gianni's cousin MD - who GB was on the phone with at 11:30pm before the...
Is it common practice for defense attorneys to request a mental competency evaluation when their client is most likely facing the death penalty? Could this be another "tactic" to delay trial events?
I am just not sold on the fact that he is crazy. His blank stares and unkempt appearance seem...
Can someone remind me if they ever found Sal's phone? From what I recall and correct me if I have this wrong - when the police arrived at the crime scene in the mall parking lot they found that Sal's car keys and cell phone were missing, right? So, if CM took the cell phone, it could also be...
I don't know that I believe CM is/was in a gang but I would bet he was involved in some type of organized crime which led him to follow through on the murders of Sal, Gianni, and Ilona.
I also don't think CM has schizophrenia. Most people with this mental illness are more likely to hurt...
I don't think that anyone on WS was/is trying to imply in any way that A) The families did not love their children, or that B) Any of the three victims deserved what happened to them due to their drug usage.
You say that even if it was drugs, who cares? Well, I think the people on WS care...
Very true! Most addicts don't willingly go into rehab. They have to hit a "bottom" and then they sort of have no other choice. That bottom could be if they face possible jail time, job loss, intervention by family, or the addict could have been beaten up, robbed, or threatened by drug dealers...
I think the common denominator between a hit man and assassin is that they kill for money. In my opinion, I think cash was the reason CM did this. My guess is that he was hired by someone.
Very good points jggordo! I too am curious about that last phone call Gianni had with his uncle so late at night. I just feel this sounds like a set up. Not by the uncle but just that this whole elaborate event had to be planned out and for a reason. Not a random act. And I think if CM was...
Again, I think it's very naive to think the family didn't know there was a drug problem. Remember, Sal was away for a while in rehab so family members had to know about his issue. Maybe Gianni and Ilona hid their problem but I think some friends and/or family must have had some idea...
I agree. It seems like a very amateur thing to do. But, maybe CM was an overly confident, cocky, arrogant wannabe assassin? Maybe he was a gun fanatic and was offered the opportunity by someone to do the hit on these people? It's hard to get into the mind of sociopaths but I'm thinking he did...
The story on news 8 says that Gibson acknowledged that his client was involved in some way in Gianni Belvedere's death, but told the judge it was "frightening" to think that Mercado faced a possible death sentence with the evidence presented regarding the other two killings. See link below...
In my opinion - I am thinking that Ilona was probably not the main target. I don't think this was a case of CM being infatuated with her. Maybe Gianni and/or Sal had made some bad dealings with drug dealers. Maybe one or both of the brothers had a huge debt or screwed someone over selling...
Heroin use/addiction is an epidemic in San Diego and many other parts of the country too. Good, clean cut kids are doing it - it's not like the stereotypical 1970's junkies you probably think of. I just find it hard to believe the family of these 3 young people would have had no idea they had...
Hello All - I've been following this case from day one like many of you on here. I was in that mall parking lot the night before the murders and it just really affected me. So, I've been reading all the postings since December and finally now getting around to posting myself.
I am so glad...
