Not sure why he was ever put in that position.
Probably would have been wiser to tell LE all the ancillary stuff and not broadcast it out on the internet.
Clicks I guess.
Horrific and becoming all too typical.
Any video that is found will probably show indistinct figures in hoodies.
I hope the perps are found but don't like the chances.
Maybe because the car was upside down and there was no weight on the tires they would not have appeared flat (like uninflated tires don't when sitting on a rack).
I don't know if he methodically pushed each tire with his hand or if, underwater, that would have even told him anything. Not sure...
At least that we know of.
Possibly LE looked at many videos of the party and found nothing? Who knows.
It may be odd that more videos haven't show up on SM but for all we know they have and they showed nothing? Pics of a party with a lot of people in the dark and none of them were KR...
Unless something really big happened that people noticed probably the vast majority would have nothing to report.
Maybe if it was just a normal night and her closer friends had left, then somebody who knew her or ran into her would have said something. But in the darkness maybe that didn't...
That's actually an interesting point you bring up.
What was the actual angle of declination (sloping down) of the "beach" that the car drove into?
Was it a within a few feet that the engine would have shut off or was it some kind of sheer drop off?
And that would seriously impact the required...
Yeah.
There are so many unknowns that I am starting to doubt that we will ever know what really happened.
I guess at this point all we can do is have faith that the reports will shed light on this.
There is some reason to believe that they will but also reason that maybe they won't.

That pic makes no sense to me.
Based on the shape of the window it has to be a back window.
If the tire is still on then the wheel is still on.
I think all 4 hubcaps were visible in various extraction pics.
IMO, the only explanation that a hubcap was missing when the pic was taken but not...
I agree with @RANCH.
It would take a tremendously violent something for a wheel to come off. Lug nuts would either have to pop off (all of them) or somehow due to twisting or something the lug bolts failed (all of them), in either case the hub is shot. Strains credulity that anything like...
Good questions!
The gear it was in would seem to be important.
I guess it had auto headlights but if not that would be easy to figure out.
As far as I know it didn't have a sunroof.
I think finding the phone is critical.
I seriously doubt that an EDR could still operate after being...
Those are excellent questions!
Only one I think I have the answer to is the distance was maybe under a mile by road and less as the crow flies? But not really sure about that.
Even though we have ruminated over this for quite some time, I don't know that we know for sure the answers to your...
Yeah, I agree.
Evidently LE had the same type of equipment that AWP had (so I have heard) but didn't find it due to lack of the kind of experience that AWP has.
I think that is basically what LE said at some of their press conferences.
Anyway, they found her and that is the main thing.

I don't know how they determine it in California.
Here is is based on birth month. Bought a new car in March and plates are good until 7/23. So this time it worked in my favor.

What if the car had its wheels basically on the bottom the whole time and filled up with water equally from both sides? And then when it got into deeper water the bottom was uneven or something and it flipped over on its side and then its top?
No idea, really, but something like that...
I agree that something like that happened.
Car drove forward into the water. Water level was up so it was relatively shallow where it went in. Window down so it sank quickly. Rolled along the bottom into deeper water and then eventually, for whatever reason, flipped over onto its top.

From what I've seen, Kiely's suv wouldn't have had the bad airbags although plenty of Hondas did and they could be lethal. Resulted in a huge recall.
It is important to know if they deployed or not which, of course, LE obviously knew when the suv was recovered. It appears that they...
I'm not sure either.
Back in the day something like that would probably involve capacitors and relays. Today it is probably something the size of a pin head in a module somewhere.
@RANCH might know.

Years ago I ran into a fireplug with an almost new Suzuki SUV. No airbag deployment.
Daughter slid on ice and ran into a tree. Not head on. Airbags deployed.
Yeah, and I guess it wouldn't be able to ping (if it felt the need to ping).
I dropped my old flip phone into the toilet a couple of times. It succumbed after about 2 seconds at a depth of 4 inches. They have come a long way.
