Very handy that the policeman had the suspect's DNA on hand to plant back then, or did he work his way onto the task force and plant DNA on the Huntigdale kimono, the stored Karrakatta rape kit and the DNA evidence from the CG crime scene? Sounds legit.............

I would imagine that defence counsel would be able to quiz prospective jurors on whether they had participated in or followed conversations about the case on social media. I would have thought that would have been one of the first things to check. Perhaps a questionnaire early in the selection...

If I were his counsel and I knew you'd been on this forum I'd move to have you excluded. Not just you, everyone here including myself.

Yep, with you there, in the absence of much new information I feel the thread has rather jumped the shark. I've always tended towards the blitz attack MO, but I don't know quite what to make of the CCTV. Have the reports of sightings of Jane Rimmer further down Stirling Hwy been completely...

From memory Robyn Santen got home safely then went out in her car, a VW Golf or Polo. Where was she going at that time of night?

For sure, brother was a rower, good enough to do specialised post school rowing stuff at the institute of sport facility near Perry Lakes. I'll pick his brains next time I see him.

Yep, the wire went to the corner and maybe a little on from there then there was a 'fence' of white wooden posts with chain running through them around the car park that you could have dragged someone over. Bushes all around. Probably more like 10 rather than 30 meters as long as you drag the...

Interesting place, that part of Carrington St. From the intersection at Loch Street down to the park at the bottom of the hill was once all light industrial. Garages, panel beaters, that sort of stuff on the cemetery side. Government Rd ran along the back of said units between them and the...

I finished in 1980, so I wouldn't likely know him. My younger brother (7 years) may well, but he's in Iraq atm. What's the brief's name? Was it something like Van Dongen? I've seen it reported somewhere.

Gut feeling tells me BE was a strangler. Stabbing is too messy, and too hard to clean up for a person who was apparently pedantic.

So posters here were saying he has top legal representation. Can someone with some real world experience in this help me with some queries? He seemed to have that lawyer very quickly. Was it chance that he chose that person to represent him? In other words how did he manage to pick one of the...

Used to go to CCGS. From memory there wasn't a break in the fence near the Art/Manual arts building so you couldn't have dragged someone onto the school grounds there. You'd have to have dragged her about 30 meters up Queenslea drive to the car par outside that building. There were plenty of...

I don't think he's going to admit to anything, at least initially. Maybe later his lawyer (depending on the strength of the prosecution's case) will be able to get him to co-operate, who knows? Somehow though I suspect we'll never really know just what happened and how.

If that quote about Rumi is him it's fascinating:- "I have on several occasions sent the same words from the heading of your poem to a few lovers and friends in the past, “out beyond ideas of wrong doings and right doings there is a field. I’ll meet you there”, to provoke...

Doesn't look like ANY houses in HIS street. The difference is stark. Mr Community, nicely dressed, Little Athletics man. Nothing, absolutely nothing has been done to that house in the last ten years. Not a new shrub, not a pot plant, nothing. It's surreal. like time has stopped.

I don't doubt that she was the prime mover in the Little Athletics involvement. She may have even suggested to him that it was a good way to meet new people. Funny thing is (I was the poster who first mentioned the appearance of his home) whilst I was surprised that his house was so scruffy, I...

The cab rank is now across Bayview Terrace near the post office. Drivers then were not supposed to pick up passengers within 100 meters from a cab rank, if there was anyone on it (that would get you put off the air for 12 hours), but at that time of night cabs wouldn't even get on to the rank...
