We're all delighted that Letby has been caught for her crimes. But let's not delude ourselves - she's just one of many criminals at large in our hospitals. Nurses/doctors harming patients; doctors/surgeons abusing nurses in operating theatres and elsewhere. It's a a nightmare environment.

These are just suggestions, as we're trying to think of ways security could be improved, aren't we? What if people were given the chance to opt out of this security feature? Then nobody would have to worry about their privacy being invaded. For me personally, deterring medical practitioners...

Really? Even if it meant you were safer? I'm the most fiercely private person you could meet, but when I'm in a hospital bed, with the burps, catheterisations, etc. that you mention (and I've experienced all that), I don't actually care who witnesses it. Do you think there is privacy on a...

Body cameras are being used more and more by health care workers, police, and even retail workers to protect them from attacks. Something like this could be used during any interaction with patients to protect both parties.

There is little privacy on a hospital ward, and the increased sense of security would outweigh any other considerations, IMO.

Cameras at each bedside, recording everything. I know it won't necessarily prevent nurses over-sedating patients, but at least they know they're being watched.

Unfortunately, this doesn't surprise me at all. I've had bad treatment while on a hospital ward. The night shift nurses always seemed particularly ghoulish at the hospital where I was a patient. They treated the ward as their own personal gossip space and treated the patients as a nuisance...

I guess they don't want artists flouncing about dramatically with their paint brushes in court. Who knows?

I thought there were texts in which she said "He seems to be acting strange" or something like that. And one where she denied flirting with him.

In my experience of workplaces, people do not look kindly on that kind of extra-marital affair, so I'm surprised they carried it on so blatantly - him leaving chocs for her, her messaging friends/colleagues about it. I wonder if he was separated from his wife at the time. There seemed to be no...

Yes, you may be right, but it seems we're attempting to psycholanalyse her to an extent on here - trying to suss out her motivation, etc. So people are mentioning the juvenile style of decor in her house. Clinging on to childhood. Is it too much of a stretch to suggest that she was somehow...
