Deaths of Male College Students-General Discussion #1

La Crosse, WI is the site for Oktoberfest since at least 1965. It is a drunken celebration held on the banks of the Mississippi. My parents cannot recall a drowning death EVER from 1965 to 1980. This was also back in the day of the 18 year old drinking age!!

Accidental. It was an Asian foreign exchange student. He disappeared from the school where he was studying English. FWIW - I personally do not believe that he is part of a pattern....

Deaths of Male College Students-General Discussion #1

Found it on the Matt Kruziki thread - I said in refuting the accident theory:::: I'll give you the best stat that I know of: In WI, in any given year, there are 1-2 deaths by accidental drowning in water (non-pool). That means that each year in WI when a young man drowns in the Mississippi...

Josh's brother is saying the police say that Josh made up the story about people chasing him in order to impress the girl whose house he was going to. **HELLO - how many people making up stories end up dead??** 5,000 drowning deaths per year across the country, accidents are most common killer...

Greta's on... Paint color and size of smiley face varied - it was found in 12 different places. Chris Jenkin's death only ONE changed to homicide. The rest all ruled accidental. "we know who killed Chris" and who was involved in Chris's murder. We know names of those who were involved in...

They did test for GHB with Luke Homan, it was negative. I believe that we read that it degrades over time, though, and would be untraceable after time, especially in water.

Deaths of Male College Students-General Discussion #1

The FBI looked only at the La Crosse cases, to my knowledge, and said no foul play. However, it at least got some people's attention. (And - this is the first time these cases have been collectively and thoroughly discussed even on Websleuths. I have been following both the MN, La Crosse and...

Deaths of Male College Students-General Discussion #1

As I've mentioned before on my threads, the last three WI boys have well-connected families. Matt Kruziki's father was a U.S. Marshal, and I believe he has been a driving force behind the FBI investigation into the deaths. (Matt, like Chris Jenkins, was "kicked out" of a bar prior to his...

    Possible Victims: Wisconsin

Can you tell me where he said he was wet? I can't find it. Thanks! You aren't confusing the Cullen guy with Austin Scott, are you? I just want to check.

No, Luke went to Brookfield Central and was on the varsity basketball team. However, they are all from Waukesha County - and the cities are not that far apart. For sure, Luke Homan would have known ABOUT Jared, I don't know if they knew each other personally. Luke and Jared were both at UW-L...

    Possible Victims: Wisconsin

Interesting reading re: the Luke Homan case - http://www.rivervalleyblogs.com/complaints/scott.htm Mr. Scott pled to probation. It leads me to believe that although police could link him to the scene, they simply did not believe that he was involved in foul play. However, it does lead me...

GUILTY WI - Brittany Zimmermann, 21, Madison, 2 April 2008 *arrest in 2020*

This article is only tangentially related - it talks about how students are moving out of the neighborhoods and into larger high-rises nearer to campus that are being built. (Of course, the city APPROVED those high-rises, and now are going back moaning about students moving out of the...

GUILTY WI - Brittany Zimmermann, 21, Madison, 2 April 2008 *arrest in 2020*

I think you're totally right - nice, easy scapegoats for the cops. That way there's no real detective work going on.

GUILTY WI - Brittany Zimmermann, 21, Madison, 2 April 2008 *arrest in 2020*

Did everyone catch this? http://www.madison.com/wsj/topstories/280833 Among those arrested was a man who walked into a home in the 500 block of West Washington Avenue shared by several UW-Madison students just before Zimmermann 's body was found two blocks away, police said. Police are now...

GUILTY WI - Brittany Zimmermann, 21, Madison, 2 April 2008 *arrest in 2020*

I mean ZERO homicides in the campus area between 1998 (the drug murder I've mentioned) and 2007 (Nolan's murder). SS - most college girls fit the profile of Nolan/zimmerman - in fact the two are probably more different than alike. What other murders "years before" are you referring to - the...

GUILTY WI - Brittany Zimmermann, 21, Madison, 2 April 2008 *arrest in 2020*

So what's your gut feeling? All three are not connected? That is possible, but would be a huge aberration for an area that had almost zero homicides for the past ten years or more... Bottom line - I think Marino and Zimmerman are related crimes, and Nolan is entirely different.

States May Free Inmates to Save Millions

Here's the thing, though - we didn't always imprison people for extended periods of time unless the crimes were very serious... There's a reason prisons are called 'Crime Universities." Petty criminals learn in prison about how to commit larger crimes (and get away with it). And - in all...
