Alwaysonthecase, I agree with this scenario. Shane enters the river at some point near that wall, the current takes him to near the brew pub, he is trying to survive and is overcome. Don't know what the rate of the current was on that night, or if that even matters unless he was in the process...

As soon as I heard the news yesterday, ChuckMaureen, I thought of that posting that you put together. It is amazing what you did. In looking at the photo again, are there actual steps coming from the rail bridge as a means to get down to the walkway/path again? Or would he have had to jump...

I have no scientific idea. But, it reminds me of the Sarah Majoras case in Lambertville, NJ two years ago. It was thought that she fell into the canal in Lambertville @ 1/8-1/4 of a mile from where she eventually was found about 6 or so days later.

The Diver who was on the video talking about his discovery of Shane exhibited both professionalism and compassion in both his words and his expression. I have the utmost respect for these individuals.

I just watched Channel 6 ABC coverage from Philadelphia. The one male reporter said that the area around the Brewery HAD been searched before. I'll have to stay tuned later to see if this same thing is said again or if it was a mistake on his part.

I'm wondering about the keys again. I am wondering how many keys were on the lanyard. Since he didn't drive, he wouldn't have a car key(s). He would have his house key. Maybe a key to his housing in West Chester. So, let's say there are two keys on the lanyard. Would he wear this lanyard...

I'm also very surprised that they did not search this part until today. Seems odd.

My heart is broken for Shane and his family. I was thinking of Shane every day and now I am thinking about him nonstop. It is devastating. I'm keeping Shane and the Montgomery family in my heart and in my prayers. As a mother of a son close to Shane's age, I feel so sad for them. This...

Yes, I remember Kevin saying this. It just seems highly unusual that Kildare's would turn the card over to someone other than LE (and if not LE, then at least Shane's parents). Very strange.

This is a great article in the Daily News. The end of it, in particular, really touched me. Thank you for posting the link, theirmommy.

I have stated this before... It really makes me wonder why the manager/worker at Kildare's would hand the card over to Kevin when he asked her for it, instead of handing it over to LE. Why would she/he hand it to Kevin, even if he was in the business and a family friend. It should have gone...

BBM. Yes, that is bridge I meant (Green Lane). Never heard of Blackie's bridge before it was mentioned here. Thank you, Jonesy. :)

Jonesy, that is one thing I was also thinking about. What is the name of that big bridge we can see in photos to the north of the little canal bridge that Shane walked over? Is it the Green Lane bridge? Is the WaWa on the other side of that? What is Blackie's bridge?

Kevin, I think most people on here are thinking of a "what if" scenario.

BBM. Is it possible to walk over that Green Lane bridge into Lower Merion (ie to get cigs)? If so, is it possible to get onto the Green Lane bridge once in the parking lot at Venice Island? (is that the correct name of the bridge, by the way? The one I am referring to is the one that can be...
