I wasn't concerned about the verdict until yesterday. Now the defense wants a sur rebuttal, which is ridiculous considering they knew what DD was going to testify to and now they want manslaughter listed in juror instructions. Are you serious? So basically it's saying, "Hey, if you don't believe self defense, at least believe it wasn't planned. Oh, if it's too brutal for self defense, let's call it a crime of passion." It's crazy.

I also only started watching during the defense's case, so I missed that DH testified about the bullet passing through the brain, but it wasn't in the report and that Flores had some super tough juror questions. Am I worried about nothing here? Is there anything I missed that is good for Jodi?

You must watch Dr Horns testimony (Day 3 on youtube). It'll alleviate all your fears IMO. Also note that he's scheduled to return in the states rebuttal case to reinforce the brutality and sequence of events. There isn't an excuse in the world for what she did to TA that doesn't justify her rotting with PTSD, BPD and BWS in prison like all the others sitting on death row.

I really hope so.:please:
Anything is possible :)

I am impatient for trial to start, to read Wild's witty salmon colored tweets, to see all the court shenanigans, to try and fail to stay caught up here. To see the Juan of my dreams.

Whenever it starts we will feel a leap of joy, then a plummet into annoyance as the first thing out of the judge's mouth is "Council Approach".
:please:
(meanwhile I maintain a hope that the judge will throw out the defense's request for a surrebuttal, based lack of evidence showing a need for surrebuttal, and on the previously court-defined shady character of the expert they want to call)

Did you happen to see the interview the other day with the woman who had worked with JA as a waitress? She said JA made SEVERAL trips to Mesa every time she thought he was up to something. I think that lady was on Dr. Drew.

Is this the one who stated JA would sit in her car and not come in to work until she got a hold of TA and knew where he was?

Do we have an Einstein or Nostradamus here to tell me when the Judge will rule on the latest motions?

My personal opinion is the jury questions indicate they are tired of all the psychologists... I feel they see through them all as bias 'opinions' and even with Dr. D answering questions the best, they have heard that they were all restricted or chose to only base their testimony on 'certain data'.

They have all only succeeded at proving JA and TA were in an extremely unhealthy and volatile relationship. They can see that both sides had reason to be upset; does not prove pre-med, self-defense, or 'snapping'. I was hoping JM was going to poke more holes in the fog story.

JM needs to drive home the Gas can evidence, renting the car, the perfect closet, all of the pre-meditation, and it does not matter if she had a plan on how to clean up, it matters that she succeeded at killing. He needs to start discounting all of her testimony that has been made to be 'assumed' fact to this point. He needs to remind the jury there were no marks on her from a struggle the fact of her behavior through testimony, video, etc. I know he did it earlier but he needs to do it again, now that they have seen JA testify.

Enough with psychology, most of the jury probably feels like they could fit into most of the categories, and probably at this point all feel they suffer from PTSD...

I agree. I believe anyone whose been paying attention realizes this was an aggressive assault. Not a defensive act.

The 'fog' she concocted is clearly another premeditated act so not to take responsibility for the 29 stabs and the deadly throat wound she inflicted on Travis which are indicative of an attack, not protection.

Her latest story is one gigantic cover-up and is a classic example of what it looks like when a killer back-peddles and uses our court-system for evil not innocence.
How Wilmott, Nurmi, Samuels and LaViolette can live with themselves is something the Universe/karma will have to deal with. To me it's inexcusable and reeks of greed.

Defense attorneys were designed to help people who were wrongfully accused. Not flip the script and hurt the victim(s) a second time. Perhaps if more lawyers started rejecting clients such as Arias maybe we'd start getting more palpable confessions and fewer fairly tales (at $1,000,000.00 dollars a pop!)

New topic: I couldn't find what I thought I read about the autopsy indicating Travis had not ejaculated prior to death. It probably was something I read from someone on the internet. Not a report. Sorry about that

I haven't caught up on posts from late yesterday and overnight, and I'm sure that someone has already posted this. When I was telling DH about new developments in the case last night, he said, "Well, you know who's driving the "manslaughter" option. "It's Jodi." I wasn't sure what he meant until he reminded me of an interview that Bryan Carr did with JVM or NG when he said that the manslaughter verdict is what Jodi expected and that she would walk for time served. I did a cursory search on the HLN site but can't be sure which interview it might be. Has someone already posted this? If not, I'll try to find it.

JVM replayed it last night

JA will consider it a huge victory if she gets anything less than first-degree...second degree, manslaughter, hung jury...She will smirk and smile and act as though she won the lottery.

The only thing that will wipe that smirk off her nasty face is being convicted of murder in the first degree. I trust JM will convince the jury to vote for nothing less than that.

JA will become just like "that thing in Florida". She wouldn't have a life, at all. People will be up in arms and she'll have to hide the rest of her miserable life.

:jail:

IMO I think if a criminal is sentenced to a term shorter than life... Every effort should be made toward rehabilitation. Who wants or needs some criminal released back into society that's more angry and more criminally savvy?

I think AZ law requires capable inmates to be able to read at an 8th grade level in order to buy extras. All have to work and the pay is less than $.50 ph. Classes for GED and limited job-related community college courses are available, but no publicly funded college/grad degrees, which is as it should be imo.

Brian Carr musta went HLN show hopping cause I just listened to him on DD & NG
