I let out a "GASP" when I read he wants another gun... IMHO. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to purchase another a gun after killing someone.. JMHO..

I can imagine it,when you have thousands being inflamed against you,putting bounties on his head.If a mob is gunning for him he should just be okay with that? I would not let myself be a sitting duck.JMO If GZ was my son I would send him out of the country because of the mob mentality.

If someone was breaking into my home and raping my child (boy or girl) I would kill them.

If someone was watching and then following me and I ran/walked fast to get away from him and they caught back up with me, I would fight like hell! I wish Trayvon would have slammed his head so hard onto that cement that it knocked Zimmerman out! Then his parents could deal with Trayvon's arrest for assault (even though it was self defense) and get him a good lawyer. At least he would be alive.

About to go out to eat with my awesome in-laws. My thoughts before I go (all my opinion and my opinion only, your opinion may vary):

• If it is verified that Spike Lee tweeted anyone's personal address, he needs to be accountable for that. IMO, he should pay for a long 5-star hotel stay, all expenses paid, for that couple whose address was tweeted. He should also pay for personal security for them until they deem it unnecessary. IMO
• I don't care what TM tweeted or didn't tweet or had tweeted to him or not. Unless it is verified that he was involved in a violent encounter, I find it abhorrent to act as if it is fact. IMO
• George Zimmerman should have stayed in his *^&#^@%!&#()7%*$ing car. No one was in mortal danger from the situation until he left his car. IMO
• Whether or not TM ran or didn't run or ran the wrong way or too slow or too fast or too girly or too evading-like or whatever, doesn't have any bearing on this case that I can see except to blame the victim. Shameful. IMO
• Joe Oliver needs to go home and be quiet. He's not helping anyone. IMO. I've had a gut feeling, before, Mr. Oliver, and the one I'm having right now is that you are a media-hound. IMO

George Zimmerman was a resident in this gated community, Trayvon wasn't.
George Zimmerman has an investment in the community.

George Zimmerman had every right (if not more)to be walking on the same street in HIS gated community as Trayvon Martin.

Trayvon Martin had no right to attack George Zimmerman because he got out of his truck or walked on the same street as TM.

In fact, why should a citizen have to stay in his #!#!#!# car in order to not be attacked, and what does one call someone who attacks another for daring to get out of his car and walk on the same street ?

I agree that this case is loaded with media hounds, but disagree that Joe Oliver is one of them. I don't think he should shut up or go home just because he's defending GZ.

Well, he will either confirm that he was shot where the chief said he was shot and what killed TM, or he'll have another story. I think everyone wants to know what happened and as long as the family is agreeable I think he could answer a lot of questions. jmo

I think that's untrue. Zimmerman apparently didn't own a home there, but rather, lived in a condo that was owned by someone named "Zimmerman". I don't think it was ever discovered who that Zimmerman was, who owns the home George lives in. Maybe his wife?

Because, if you listen to the call, he was on the cut through street and didn't know the name of the street. This leads me to believe he did get out to find the street sign and figured when they called back, he could tell them.

Zimmerman does not live in that gated community, as has been said here over and over, so he didn't know the interior street names.

Then what was he doing in the gated community on his way to the store and how did he get in?

But wouldn't you have giving them the most recent, the most accurate picture? Say your son was missing (as Mr. Martin first did) would you give media or LE a 3 or 4 year old one?

Well, I can safely say that if my son got into trouble in high school, which he did, if I needed to give LE or the media a picture of him, I wouldn't have looked for the thuggiest picture he ever posted on Facebook or Myspace and given that one to them. There is no point here. :seeya:

I think the point that is trying to be made is about self defense. NO matter where it happens.

If you kill someone in self defense, should you carry the label "killer" the rest of your life?

We don't have all the facts of this case yet. There are many unanswered questions.

But, I think that was the point. Self defense / labels.

Of course he lives there, he gave his address on the 911 tape. He was on his way to the store going out the front gate. He has lived there since 2009. There are only a few streets within the community so he had to know. Plus he admitted patrolling the area and calling in complaints that people have left their garage doors open, windows open. He is leasing the property but does not own it but he certainly lives there. jmo

The CNN reporter says the funeral director said he could not tell anything about the bullet wound because of the autopsy.

I most certainly think that you have the right to defend your life and your daughters. That is not even an apt analogy...What I would not find easily defensible would be if you had your loaded weapon in a holster and you were walking around down town until you found someone that you considered to be suspicious, even if they were at that point only walking around window shopping and you proceed to follow them, and when a confrontation ensues because of your following them, you pull out your gun hand shoot them dead, and then claim that was self defense....

The act of following them while not a crime is the very thing that precipitates the confrontation, and a person ends up dead....you didn't mean for it to happen, didn't intentionally set out for it to happen but it did and your actions are the proximate cause of the entire incident...

Thanks! I'm just trying to separate the right to defend ones self from other shooting scenarios. I totally agree that people need to be able to defend themselves from violent crime and also that SYG does not come in to play when the shooter is the aggressor.
