Maybe a friend of his does? IDK

There is no way that a HOA would allow someone who did not LIVE in the community to be a "Neighborhood Watch Captain." If it was hired security, that's different, but a Neighborhood Watch Captain, I would think he had to live there.

The Retreat at River Ridge is a condominium community, not homes.
She asked him what his apartment number is, he says it is a home. People in condos don't call their condos apartments.

how do we know that IF GZ had stayed in his car Tm would not have tried to drag him out of his car?

Wow. TM would have had to have very long arms. His body was in someone's back yard far away from GZ's car even if GZ parked it where the pathway starts. jmo

The link you provided does state it, but what is the original source? Wouldn't only Zimmerman and Martin be the only ones who know that? I haven't seen anywhere where Zimmerman is quoted as saying that.

I first saw it here:

I'm reasonably certain it's out there at numerous other sources, as well.

He volunteered. It is unclear just where the HOA stands with his as this Neighborhood Watch captain.

Don't have a link - sorry.

JMHO

We are gonna see a civil suit against the HOA.......whether he lived there or not. I hope they had their insurance paid up.

Trayvon Martin is not missing. The pics released of him are not to make the public aware of what to look out for. They're for his memory, if you will. JMO MOO IMO

On his mothers birthday they went horseback riding,on the news last night that picture was shown.IMO It showed a beautiful young man, beautiful smile, nice wide shoulders, a strong young man.

The Retreat at Twin Lakes is a condominium community, not homes.

It was a condo. Although they are called "townhomes" by this complex, they're no different from Condos - that is, they aren't stand alone houses. It looks, visually, like an apartment complex.

I think there is a lot that the family does not want the public to know about Trayvon.

OK As for the Police I agree, there should always be an investigation when there is a shooting and one person cannot tell their side.

BUT...
In the 911 when they ask him for an address he did not know exactly. He got out only to see a house # (all the houses do look alike, and if he did not know the house #I cannot fault him).
I also agree that he should not have gotten out of the car because he did have a concealed weapon, and he did not know if the boy had one too.
BUT it is not against the law for him to have gotten out of the car.
a bad decision equals not smart
it does not equal killer.

his bad decisions make him responsible for the death of another human being. i don't know anyone who thinks he set out to do this...but his choices are what caused this..much the same a drunk driver,,,they don't plan on hurting anybody, but because of their poor choices sometimes peole die,,, and they are held accountable for it...just as i feel zimmerman should be..It almost seems like we all agree on that...but for some reason some want to blame trayvon and bring up his past etc...when it makes no difference..he did not start the ball going on this thing...would we ever blame a person killed by a drunk driver...would we say,, well they shouldn't have been there,, i wonder what they were going to do that night,, etc...oh look they smoked pot in the past, they must have somehow done something wrong...

I think the distinction is condos can be all on one floor such as converted apartments whereas townhouses are up and downstairs. Living downstairs, bedrooms upstairs. In Philly they use to be called row houses. jmo

I guess this isn't actually a fact, but didn't his friend go on tv and say oh it was goon that he said instead of the c word...i take that to mean that he said something derogatory and as was discussed earlier,,, saying goon wouldn't make any sense since they weren't buddy's...jmo

If you had used a racial slur just before killing a black kid, would you admit it to an acquaintance that happened to be of the same race as the dead kid?

Joe Oliver's wife is friends with GZ's mother in law and apparently Oliver has also worked at the same place as GZ (information from TV interviews, sorry no links).

That's not exactly a close enough friend to indulge in deep confessions like this, IMO.

Yes, he lived in one of the condos. As a matter of fact in the 911 call they ask for his unit #. He says he doesn't want to give complete number because kid was atching him and now he doesn't know where he is and doesn't want him to hear the unit #.

Where on the 911 call does it state that Zimmerman didn't want to give his address because Trayvon was watching him? Where on the 911 call does Zimmerman state that he doesn't want to give the dispatcher his address because Trayvon could hear him?

Couldn't he have just locked his doors and driven away? It's kinda hard for a pedestrian to drag someone out of a moving vehicle.

I did not realize the truck was moving. sorry about that

What you posted. This is a link to the call. Not nearly as inflammatory as what you depicted in your post.

IMO he didn't call him a racial slur, he called him a goon.

goon
   [goon]

noun
1.
Informal . a hired hoodlum or .

2.
Slang .
a.
a stupid, foolish, or awkward person.

b.
a roughneck.

And IMO he called him a "c***."

How does that make my statement untrue? Because you think you heard goon and I heard "c***?" No, that doesn't make my statement untrue. It means you do not share the same opinion.

I think we probably will.

His mother has already trademarked the phrases "I am Trayvon" and "Justice for Trayvon", for use in future CD's and DVD's, so it's fair to say they have aggressive legal counsel that will probably go through a civil lawsuit.

I wonder who actually came up with the phrase "I am Trayvon" and whether they'd have a say in profits. "Justice for Trayvon" is generic enough that it would be hard to imagine who originally stated it, but "I am Trayvon" in this tragedy is kind of a unique thing to say.

Wow, to me one would have to really know an individual to read their mind to the extent one would throw in attitude...at least he said "guy", huh?. :moo:

When told he didn't need to follow Trayvon, Zimmerman said, "ok". Had he continued to follow Trayvon, why did he lose him for the remainder of the call - which went on for two more minutes - especially if, as some would have us believe, Zimmerman was "chasing him down" cuz they hear him breathing heavy on the call.

THEN, after he has run his chubby legs off chasing Trayvon for two minutes, he's up for a fight the very moment he catches up to him. I don't think so.

I do. If your adrenaline is running you are capable of anything. I certainly think GZ was completely hyped up to say the least! You don't go out paroling if your exhausted.

TM's girlfriend was on the phone with him telling him to run. TM was scared of the big bully chasing him down. Why would you blame a 17 year old without knowing the whole truth? Who had the gun? It's like if you don't have a drivers license and you get in an accident it's your fault because you aren't supposed to be on the street. If GZ hadn't been carrying a gun the worst that would have happened would be a brawl and LE could have broken up the fight. If GZ was so trained to be a NW person I would think he would also have some defense training other than carrying a auto 9 mil weapon. Completely outrageous! the only reason he hasn't been arrested is because his Father is Judge. sound familiar, JVS!!

I find it interesting that GZ's past brushes with the law are so very minor and not worth the money to pursue via the justice system and this explains why charges were dropped. These facts are not supposed to be a factor in my assessment of the situation.

those same posters who assure me that GZ's past encounters with LE are not relevant to this debate are the ones who seem to view TM's school record of suspensions as very relevant into what sort of character he had and why he is no angel, going so far as to speculate that TM may have been scoring drugs or casing houses that night based off of this school history.

There is a double standard being applied across this country in relation to this case, on BOTH sides of the debate IMO

For myself, I am trying to leave GZ's past AND TM's past out of the equation and look at the events of THAT night.

At first blush, when this story first broke, I was very adamant that GZ was an out of control vigilante racist out spoiling for a fight with his gun.

As more details are coming out, my opinion has morphed. I now admit, I do not know whether GZ is a racist, a vigilante, a guy who wanted to use his gun. I still remain convinced that GZ is the sort of individual who craves LE contact, whose position as neighborhood watch captain (self appointed or no) is the source of much of his self esteem. I still feel strongly that GZ was overzealous, overstepped his authority, and his actions that night directly led to the shooting and killing of TM.

I gave you a link to a transcript of the call.
