So there's a network producer (abc?) practically arm in arm with Cindy...what in God's name is that all about? More blood money?

I believe that's a reference about J Lichtenstein, Today Show producer, here's the thread on him: [ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114089"]Jim Lichtenstein - Movie Deal? - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

The people in Ohio they want to talk to are family and it's for mitigation purposes after KC is found guilty. So I find it hard to understand why they won't talk if it helps keep KC from a death sentence. You would think Cindy and George would ask them to cooperate with the mitigation specialist. But, then again, maybe even family feels that KC, Cindy and George are not worth helping.

Maybe they think baby killers deserve the death penalty.

Maybe they think Casey is a danger to society and want no part in her defense.

Maybe they cry every day over a child they never got to know or the person Caylee never got to be.

Maybe they're afraid they'll be Kronked.

Maybe these visits aren't for mitigation purposes, maybe they're cooking up some insanity defense and want some unwitting family member to say something so they can twist their words.

Would anyone on this board trust anyone from that defense?

IMO

Nope! Not a one of them. Great post JB and so right.

Everything stays the same as now, all released. Judge Perry said the Baez could file a new motion specifically about the phone calls and nothing else as that is what pertained to "Bent". His motion was denied today because in usual Baez fashion he took a scorched earth approach and wanted everything not to be released. That's how I understood it.

That is exactly how I understood it also. I love your "scorched earth" analogy.

I don't get the big issue with mitigation investigation in Ohio.
Casey was 3 years old when the left Ohio and moved to Florida...
Casey not go to school there...unless it was 1 year of preschool,
She would have medical info up to 3 years, unless Cindy asked for the files to be transferred to Orlando when they moved here.

Just who are the Defense interviewing in Ohio?????
I don't think Cindy has any immediate family there does she? her parents are in Mt Dora, Rick is in ?? SC, not sure of the other 2 but I haven't read they were in Ohio...I could be wrong.
George's parents are in Ft Myers area, he has 1 sister in S.Florida though I have read there is 1 sister in Ohio...

Just who's background are they investigating in Ohio Casey or George?

J Barret has already gone to Ohio to interview relatives so why does Finnell need to do the same AGAIN?
Baez wanted to keep Barrett, he argued to keep her..she has developed a close relationship with Casey blah blah blah and the Judge approved keeping Barrett...and the hours for mitigation...did Baez and Mason not fill Finnell in?

I don't understand what the other person, J. Barrett, who has a background in mitigation was doing when she was involved in the case?
Is she still involved and/or why wouldn't she hand over and/or consult with the new lawyer covering everything she uncovered or didn't uncover?

Mind you, I caught that AF said that she has some 'new ideas' but still, the other person must have already completed a lot of what they would need to know. :waitasec:
That's how I learned in the first place about the penalty phase of a trial and how it differs from the main trial. Everyone assumed back when Lyons brought in J. Barrett that that's what JB's role was in the case. Judge Perry asked the defense this question. Did anybody catch the answer?

Also, I was bowled over to hear that KC has not been subjected to evaluation from a Psychologist. Did I understand that correctly? JP granted $2,500 to the defense for this purpose.

That's exactly what I think. Perhaps a movie or book deal from his perspective sitting side by side with the parents of the accused. Maybe an exclusive on how it feels to be Cindy/George under that microscope they love so much.

Money doesn't have to be exchanged for the facts (I don't think) because the Sunshine Laws pretty much lay them all out so he's going for a different angle.

One thing is for sure, he's not sitting there without expecting a big pay day and GA/CA aren't hanging around with him without expecting a big pay day.

IMO

Why doesn't she write to them and if they still don't want to talk then leave it at that. KC's Ohio family obviously do not want any involvement, and who can blame them? What could they possibly contribute to this case when she only lived there until the age of 3?

Dear So and So:

Will you talk to me?
If not, can I forge a document saying you did?

Check yes or no.

Love,
KC Dream Team

Good points.

I would like to add one more - for God's sake, they have seen that even George is being investigated, why should they be any different? I'm sure they aren't too pleased with the sexual molestation allegations Casey has made against George and Lee, either.

I believe he's associated with Dateline NBC and The Today Show right now.

He's been attached to her hip for a loooooong time now.

Or, conversely, it might have to do with the fact that they'd have to tell the truth. RP alone would have a field day, and he's not even in OH.

Yes, and he's produced some made for TV movies about true life crimes.

Just finished watching the hearing and all I can say is.... I LOVE HHJP!!!

Yes and I think that's exactly what he's up to hanging with the Anthonys at every single hearing.

The good news is that the Anthonys have not, in the past, been happy with how they've been portrayed. I'm thinking back to the People Magazine article with Cindy sitting on the floor next to Caylee's crib, which they claim she rarely slept in.

IIRC she was very upset at how that article turned out.

This was specifically for the mitigation phase after ICA has been found guilty!

What is JB doing with his thumbs?

I'll bet every single WS'er who reads your post will have the same answer! Well, maybe some more colorful than others...........:blushing:
