110 hours after what the defense is over.
..is my math correct? if so they are @ 501.36 hrs..
...payments made by JAC to P.I. J.Lyons

Total: $15,556.13
..@ $40.00 per hour, that's 388.90 hours.
..which doesn't include the payments made to lyons pre july when the rate was $50.00 per hour:

..@ $50.00 per hour, that's 48.78 hours.
...but wait, the above doesn't include the $3184.00 the JAC paid to (andrea lyon's) DePaul University for "investigative fees".....P.I. mortimer smith, i presume?

..@ $50.00 per hour, thats 63.68 hours.
hours:
388.90 + 48.78 + 63.68 = 501.36
All I can see there is the blog comments
I believe the DePaul billed hours are for Jeanene Barrett. So they are over by 76.78 hours right now based on those calculations.
Okay. This is what I don't get. JAC and HHJP both knew this was a death penalty case when they allocated the initial investigative hours. But now they really know it's a death penalty case so the hours should be more generous? Generous to the point that it is immaterial how many hours they've already exceeded ~ Just add 110 extra ones on top of that. Because death is on the table. I think that fine toothed comb that HHJP has been talking about has lost several teeth!
People like JB love it when the line in the sand keeps moving in their direction because they quickly understand that it means there's really no line at all.
I'm steamed.

First up is investigative hours motion.
Baez says there is "a plethora of witnesses that need to be interviewed"
110 witnesses
Baez does not believe they warrant depos.
But they do need to be interviewed he says
Baez wants computer generated reports on the witnesses that tell things like last known address and ph numbers
JP asked for more details on the request.
JP asks of Baez has looked at JAC guidelines for use of investigative hrs
JP referring to a specific invoice. JP not sure if it is all reimbursable. Baez ok with that
Gabe Travers/WESH.com
JP says he has concerns about some of the invoices he has
Generally these are people that we have to do our due diligence -Baez
Says prosecutors have listed all witnesses as class a. No b or c.
JP says he is going to grant some more hours. Not clear yet how many
JAC says defense is already over their allotted hours. Even before today.
JP saying that he can't control how many witnesses state listed
Says he does not believe the hours are excessive...because death is on the table.
JAC math says hours already submitted mean Baez only has 30 hrs left. Buy JAC hasnt gone through invoices
JP: I want this case to progress
JP granting another 60 hrs
JP reiterating that some of the invoice hours may not be reimbursable with taxpayer money
...not that it matters as far as the investigative hours are concerned, if those pynts. were for mitigation, but i just realized the depaul payments, since made after july 1 should have been @ $ 40/hr. so 79.60 hrs. there and not 63.68.
...( and that is why i have you check my math nums! )

I guess what I am a bit confused about is exactly how important can this "plethora" of witnesses be if he doesn't even believe any of them need to be deposed. :waitasec:
On what does he base their "importance"? That sounds like a fishing expedition to me.
I am getting a little tired of the death is on the table statement..:banghead:..I wonder if all indigent murder defendants get all these experts and investigative hours??
RBBM.
On that, I got nothin'. I think the court is willing to entertain the defense's delusions at some preliminary cost to the FLA taxpayer, in order to guarantee a solidly un-appeal-able outcome to the case.
JB's tricks are transparent. To the State, to the court, to us, to any reasonable potential juror. At this point, with the evidence of KC's guilt stacked so firmly in the prosecution corner, why the heck not let the defense scurry around interviewing and not deposing that "plethora" of witnesses? Other than the real-time expense to the Florida taxpayer, that is...
(OK you all are right. None of this is moral. None of this is right. None of this should be happening. But it's the best our legal system can do.)
And ...I'm sure J Perry is aware of how much the State have spent in prosecuting this case which may have factored into his decision. I'm not a Florida tax payer, but I'm sure they would ultimately prefer this case was tried just one time and that no appellant court found the defense team were hampered in finding potential exculpatory evidence against Ms Anthony.
Basically Baez has till the end of the month to put up or shut up.

Sunnyin Mo..Boy do I agree!! he (JB) will keep milking this for all its worth.
This case is so old how would anyone trust what new "witnesses" say.Its prolonging the trial again watch and see.Take the da** DP.off and see what happens. There is no way in He77 she will walk, from what I read of Lowell she might be better(ahem) off.IMO:furious:
