I think that mystery woman is a religious counselor or mental health counselor. She has always displayed a cheery disposition and has a calming effect on ICA. She is overly cheery faced when speaking with ICA. She has no worries to consider so I believe her "job" is to cheer the inmate and keep her calm. Her role cannot be to select jurors because her demeanor says "everything is okay".

I'm wondering if she is AF mitigator that she wanted brought in...I remembr her requesting one when she signed on.....just a thought

I don't describe it as a "hissy fit"..I believe she was feeling 'sick' in some way.

They were in a short break & most of the DT gathered around her..She was then led out the side door (with Baez behind her but he came right back in) & then she returned a short time later..There are pix in today's 'jury' thread..Sorry, not sure of the page but closer to the beginning..Hope that helps!

Did anyone else notice the couple in the gallery? He had on a blue shirt and she was dressed in black. The guy seemed quite happy to be in the camera's sight and was smiling. I did expect him to wave, but he didn't.

Certainly new dynamics between Baez and ICA.

Gotta wonder if he requested the seating change after being caught on sound the other day?

DT Legal Team suggested the seating change?

Casey requested the seating change?

I'm guessing after the court officers appeared at the table for whatever reason, it was decided by the legal team that Casey was making a bad impression on the potential jury members.

I do notice that she is acting like a teenager at the dance standing there at the end of the sessions just waiting for Baez to acknowledge her. And he isn't. Something is amiss and let's see if we get to trial without a major problem. I'm not holding my breath. Knowing Casey's makeup if she doesn't get her way I fear what the outcome is going to be between her and her attorney between now and next week.

With all the dates thrown around....I can't help but wonder if this will end up a bench trial and the jurors will be for the sole purpose of penalty phase.

It would fit no???

I just don't see that happening. I don't even know if the statutes would allow it. Gonna go look it up.

That's what I'm thinking, but why WHY do this then?

I'm sure there's a reason, I'm sure the DT will move to strike the whole panel (if they get one) for whatever reason....

There would have to be a jury in order to be able to hope for a sentence other than what the Judge would impose.

I immediately thought of the miscarriage as well. Now why would we be on the same page here???

IDK why it was the first thing that came to my mind but it was??!!I smell manipulation all over their interactions. She most definitely has a flirty demeanor with him and its all in her eyes. IMO her "fit" this morning has more to do with,imo, baez "hurting her feelings" in some way and trying to guilt him into feeling what he once used to feel for her. The manipulation machine that is ica is chugging along fast and strong.

Those are the re-calls from Monday and Tuesday for the voir dire.

That is incorrect. This afternoon is the rest of the jurors for phase 1 hardship.

It sounds like recalls won't begin until tomorrow.

ETA: Except for the one juror that has a flight issue. He is getting the whole process today.

Standard procedure at that facility. KC must be kept apart from other inmates, the facility uses the medical ward for that. (And that she is not a permanent inmate at that facility, just there for this week.)

Protective custody is in the medical ward.

There is one juror that will have complete voir dire questioning after lunch so that if he is dismissed may make his flight departing tomorrow.

something is not right. ICA has an "aide" to watch and care for her. The DT is acting really ODD. HHJBP sure it won't go into AUG.
