I reported a year or two ago, here. I was never picked. Told to go home.

I take that back. Uncle in FBI. Retired. Five years ago.

MG: anything about your uncle having been in the FBI cause influence on your listening to the facts or give greater weight to LE as a witness?

no, I would not.

MG: a witness to a crime? or been the victim of a crime?

no to witness but my house was broken into about three years ago, reported it, no one was arrested.

MG: any thing about that leave a bad taste in your mouth re: LE?

MG: you are a teacher, what teach?

health, PE, tenth graders

MG: how long?

fifteen years.

MG: generally around that age?

yes

MG: teach or care for young children?

no

MG: you have kids?

no

MG: sibs?

older sister and older brother, not local.

MG: do they have kids?

they each have a daughter, one is ten and one is seven.

MG: see them often?

no I do not, I saw one of them over christmas, christmas is when I see them.

MG: have you ever cared for them?

no I have not.

see problems with the DT for this guy...One: FBI relative..then going on to study special ed stuff....(hmmmmm defense wouldn't be able to fly inmates storyline at this time....

I don't think that is known until all of the strikes are used. The first 12 have not been sworn in. It's possible that HHJP is going to wait, because of a window of possible appeal based on people knowing they would be an alternate. I guess it could alter some peoples' answers if they already know they'll be sitting for 8 weeks, and possibly not get to be making a decision.

I think it's for the best, too. I'd rather see them get 15, or so, and then randomly choose the first 12. Yesterday I heard of a case where the judge didn't choose the deciding panel until right before verdict instructions were given.
