Quick question...if the state has strikes left and none of the pj's have been sworn in, not understanding why they cannot strike the "hangman" pj? Was this because if that statute? I thought strikes meant that they could get rid of anyone they want, for any reason?

I agree with the poster who mentioned the constant breaks and 90 minute lunches. What on Earth is he THINKING? Seriously, HHJP needs to get this done. I don't understand why he's not pushing this through quickly.

I have a question for all of our non-US posters. Has listening to the PJs during voir dire changed your opinion about "typical Americans?" Do the answers they have given jibe with the prevailing zeitgeist in your country or culture?

I'm surprised that so many PJs are saying that they don't regularly follow the news. We all have such easy access to it. I don't think I know anyone who doesn't read a newpaper daily, online or otherwise.

I know lots of people that prefer to go through life clueless. My own husband is one of them. The only news he knows, is the news I bore him with.

So today began with no explanation of whatever happened yesterday. RH opined in the Sidebar last night that JB's wife is pregnant and this may have had something to do with it.

ICA appears to have caught Finnell's flu. Her demeanor today is quite solemn. The hallway is coming to an end, and IMO it is going to end in a very small room that looks remarkably like a cell. Perhaps this is dawning on her, that the trip back to Orlando is likely to be the last time she sees the outside world.

The DT has painted themselves into a corner with only 1 strike left, and a big ole pool of folks about to come in and say they know ICA is guilty. CJBP said in open court that "they know how to do it" if they want to get off the jury--I took that to mean that they knew to say ICA was guilty.

Let's not forget that HHJP is Chief Judge for the 9th district and may have other business to attend to as well.

I'm hopeful that the DT doesn't do anything in the next few days to change that! Many said it was impossible to pick a jury in a week, and we're only 6 days behind. I think that's remarkable considering the magnitude of this case and the attempts by the defense to delay it.

So, if he brings in another panel and had to read the charges that's an hour. Then we still have how many to question? Then hardships and starting with the new 30 and then he thinks he's going to swear the jury in at 2:30-3pm tomorrow? And we have 1 1/2 hour lunch breaks? What happened to yesterday's rant about if he brought in 2000 the DT would want to question them and this process could go on forever?

So I am wondering how I would answer these DP questions. I absolutely believe that it has a place in our judicial system and I think that I could vote for it in the right circumstances. If evidence shows the facts here as clearly as we are hoping then this would be a situation where I would be able to vote DP. However, I keep thinking that I am really hoping for LWOP because that will prevent her from gaining a cult following and also will pull the platform out from under CA and GA as I am so tired of hearing from/about them. Guess I sound odd to believe it should be one way but actually hope it is the other way. As long as she is convicted of 1st degree murder of a sweet innocent toddler who loved her and depended upon her for survival, I will be happy.

I'm from the UK and visited Florida in 2009. I immediately fell in love with Americans. So polite and welcoming. I don't know what a typical American is but the people we met were lovely. I love the lingo when y'all say y'all and little things like that. When a waitress says good morning mam, I LOVE IT! And I could not believe how every single person says your welcome whenever someone says thank you. I would pack up and move in a heartbeat if I could. Maybe it was the Disney vibe and everyone is so happy, I don't know but I can't wait to go back next year.
