OK...so I just don't "get it"...what in the world is up with the "secrecy" in this case...???

Maybe...as in (maybe?)..possibly understand some doctor/psych privalage here...

Wasn't the hearing today?

But nothing else at all ???

Guess it will eventually come forth...

He called his psychiatrist 9 minutes before the shooting!

"Do you know that Mr. Holmes called that number 9 minutes before the shooting started?" Brady asked Fenton.
Fenton responded, "I did not."

Prosecutors asked Fenton if Holmes also had her office phone number and whether she could be reached that way. Fenton said yes to both questions.
Fenton also testified that she met with Holmes only once, on June 11, and that she believed their privileged relationship was limited to that day.
When Chief Deputy District Attorney Karen Pearson asked Fenton if she had a doctor-patient relationship with Holmes on July 19, when he mailed her the package, Fenton said, "I believe I did not."

Earlier Thursday, Fenton said she never reported suspected gunman James Holmes as a "threat to harm," although she did express concerns to campus police.

When asked on the stand Thursday if she reported Holmes, who was studying neuroscience at the university's medical campus, as a "threat to harm," she said she did not.

But Fenton said on the stand that her doctor-patient relationship with Holmes ended with their meeting mid-June, the day before his student access card was canceled, CBS News correspondent John Blackstone reported.

University officials said Holmes' access card was canceled because he had dropped out of the neuroscience program. A school spokeswoman also said they conducted a criminal background check on Holmes before the movie theater attack.

Now um wait, that quote in red just strikes me wrong. A psychiatrists duty to warn/protect is mandated by courts. Why on earth would she have had a casual chat with campus police in light of privacy, hippa and ethical code of conduct. That mere statement is a contradiction of logic and ethics!! You CANNOT have it BOTH WAYS doctor. I object!!

:what:

Didn't know where to put this. Just heard on local news that Court will be held today to argue about prosecutors getting to see the notebook. Everyone probably already knows, but a heads up if not.

Adding a link about today:

Found this part interesting:

"Holmes had also applied at graduate neuroscience programs at Iowa, University of Illinois, Texas A&M, Kansas, Michigan and Alabama.

Holmes was accepted at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with an offer of free tuition and $22,000 a year. But Iowa rejected him with a "Do NOT offer admission under any circumstances" notation.

University of Alabama at Birmingham also rejected him with one professor noting that "he may be extremely smart, but difficult to engage."

10 more charges are expected to be filed today.

Arapahoe County prosecutors are seeking to charge James Holmes, the suspect in the Aurora theater massacre, with 10 more counts, according to a motion filed this week.

They showed his new mug shot on HLN. No more red hair. Dark hair and cut short. Same "buggy eyes".

Waiting for it to be posted online.

Hearing Sept. 20, 2012

Prosecutors also announced at the hearing that they would not fight for the admissibility of the notebook Holmes allegdly sent to his psychiatrist, Dr. Lynn Fenton, hours before the shooting.

Holmes’ public defender, Tamara Brady, has argued that the notebook should not be used at trial, because it is confidential communication between a patient and doctor.

Prosecutors say they maintain the belief that the notebook is not confidential, but will drop the issue out of fear it will delay the trial.

The defense also requested Thursday that prosecutors be sanctioned for saying in a previous hearing that Holmes was banned from the University of Colorado campus for making threats. The defense says there is no evidence that Holmes was banned after making threats. The judge has not yet ruled on that point.

Colorado shooting suspect smiles in court

The suspect in the US cinema rampage that killed 12 in one of the worst mass shootings in the country's history has smiled and glanced around the courtroom, in a marked difference from his dazed appearances in the past.

The shocking orange hair was gone, but he remained silent in court on Thursday, US time.

Sylvester allowed the addition of 10 attempted first-degree murder charges against Holmes on Thursday, bringing the total to 152 counts, but more specific details were not made public because much of the case remains under seal.

The latter half of the hearing was focused on whether to unseal the case. Prosecutors said they were open to unsealing the file with the exception of the arrest and search warrant affidavits and certain motions.

Defense lawyers asked that the case remain sealed, at least until a preliminary hearing scheduled for November.

CU lawyers argued to keep the file sealed.

I dont see really the relevance of adding the charges... the 140s charges are already more than enough to convict him if he is found sane...

Sylvester allowed the addition of 10 attempted first-degree murder charges against Holmes on Thursday,

do they have find 10 more victims? wonder why they dont have these originally? I just hope people are not just added for the benefit of "donations" IMO..
