Today It seemed aparent to me that the defense has been lurking around online in our forum, and on the Travis support page on Facebook from some of the things that were subtly addressed...

They didnt bringit up specifically, but One of the things i thought they were touching on was Jodi having a personality disorder...I forgot what exactly it was, but something was brought up and it made me think it was going to be used to prove that she doesn't have a personality disorder...

Did anyone else catch this as well?

Why did Jodi take photos of such an insignificant scrape/burn that happened at work two days before she murdered Travis?

Could that be used against her as evidence of premeditation? Like she wanted to make sure that if she was injured during her attack that she had proof that she was injured before...

My other thought was, why would she take pictures of such an insignificant scrape, but never took any pictures of injuries from Travis' alleged abuse...

If the photos of the cuts on her finger were not already in "discovery" and they just recently came out, I would think they were of someone else.

Beth K is the epitome of class.
What a nice gift you gave her, so very thoughtful!
Thanks for all of your court notes!
:tyou:
I agree.

She exudes class and integrity.

I'm going to chalk it up (in part) to that Jesuit influence at Fordam University School of Law.

That guy is cracked! Wasn't he just on Dr. Drew last week giving a "message" from Jodi saying that she's telling the truth now?

Now his response is that she's telling stories to protect herself and her family from the ninjas? Story #2 is the truth?

I don't believe a word out of that guys mouth.

JMO I think he's off his meds.:twocents:

maybe the job took the pictures? we do take pictures when an employee gets hurt...

...just wanted to comment on her diary entries ...and it probably has been said before but I don't have time to read through the thread :( today's testimony was soooooo full of crap, why would she say her journal was not really private, yet she writes in it that it's a good thing noone else can see it....she claims she wouldn't mention suicide or anything negative because the "law of attraction" yet she DOES write about suicide and reads it in the courtroom...at least there's some truth to her entries, like all of her darkness is her own creation and that she's of no use to the world....
God,how I wished we could read her entire journal(s),I see there's a post about the 1000 places to see on the opposite side of one of the entries she read in court...

oh and another thing that floored me in the journal was how she wrote she has to "kill what doesn't serve me"

But aren't the DV specialist and psychologist experts for the defense? (Or does the Prosecutor have a DV specialist and Psychologist scheduled too?)

I'm so worried about defense experts... Is it possible that it could back-fire on them and what they have to say could hurt the defense?

I'm counting on exactly that. JA doesn't fit the profile of a women suffering from BWS. This is pretty basic but from http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/battered+woman+syndrome"A personality profile obtained by psychologic testing reveals the typical battered woman to be reserved, withdrawn, depressed, and anxious, with low self-esteem, a poorly integrated self-image, and a general inability to cope with life's demands. The parents of such women encouraged compliance, were not physically affectionate, and socially restricted their daughters' independence, preventing the widening of social contact that normally occurs in adolescence."

I bolded the traits that JA clearly defies or has testified to that don't fit the profile. She also wasn't married or living with her abuser and had the freedom and mobility to change her circumstance whenever she wanted. I didn't bold reserved because she certainly acts the part in court however her sex tapes and texts tell a completely different story.

The experts haven't been present in court and their reports won't be based on testimony. My hope is that the Jodi they present will be a version that not a single juror will be able to relate to as being the Jodi they've witnessed and listened to for weeks. When JM crosses them giving examples of testimony, their opinions will likely change drastically. The photos of TA alone will ensure that IMO. I'm sure these folks value their professional reputations and will answer with integrity.
:please:

I'd like to share your optimism. But imo, the DV experts arew not going to give a comprehensive list of what an abuse surviver looks like.

Instead, Nurmi is going to say something like: " When you hear the defendant testifying that Travis Alexander was a wonderful and generous person, does that surprise you? "

DV expert: No, not at all. That is consistent with the traits of my clients.

Nurmi: When you learned that the defendant told several versions of the victims death, did that surprise you?

DV expert: No, because victims of abuse routinely lie about their lives as a defense mechanism.

We will hear hours of nonsense much like this, imo.

I work at a prison for the worst of the worst of offenders, but no death row...however, the men that are living their sentence of Life without are doing just that, living without, solitary, no comforts and they get to live with the daily knowledge of where they are an why....no sympathy given...their needs are met but that is all...they earned that treatment, because of our location etc...they do not even get to have much contact with anyone or any family....I almost wish she would get that, she will not be performing for "american idol" if she does...no visitors...so from my perspective it seems living with her mind and memories will be some justice perhaps...

In a way i wish they would not have gone for the DP because in a DP case the judge allows almost anything and everything, as in the CA case. I know the crime was so heinous that the DP is appropriate, but I fear the cost is too great. If this was not a DP case alot of this crap would not be coming in.

I thought this when she first took the stand...gave nurmi a shoutout :seeya: and sure I told him to bog off and get his own ideas. Im pretty sure none of us supporting Travis's family for justice want to take any credit for giving those twits any ideas.

Katie, I dont know if anyones asked this (im half asleep thanks to my wonderful children having me up all night...) was there a change in atmosphere/feeling in the court room when JM got to do his little ditty? I was just about jumping up and down....after nurmi and his monotones It was a welcome sight/sound.

Katiecoolady, thank you for transcribing your notes for us! Thank you for your time and efforts. Thank you for being in court to support Travis' family. Thank you for choosing a lovely gift for Beth.

My question for you is: does Nurmi ever look at the jury? Does he realize he's boring them to tears?

I think his 9 days of direct and I-don't-know-how-many-days of re-direct have over-exposed his client? The jury has seen many versions of Jodi over the 15 days she has been on the stand. Due to the number of notes they are taking and their obvious attentiveness, I hope and pray they already have her number.

This is in great contrast to a certain other jury I shall not deign to name.

She's full in to her Mother Teresa persona now...benevolent, spiritual..gag me.

It's exhausting listening to Nurmi trying to eek out a sentence..everyone is edgy..in the gallery and jurors.

Another juror question comes in...Maureen.

Wrestler yawning.

Jurors step up to attention when Juan gets up to voirdire her. It's finally the only energy in that courtroom today. Everyone wakes up and comes alive. Katie also noted this.

JA just seemed to look at me. Yuk.

Mitigation Spec. not in court today.

Maureen and Ponytail chatting, smiling. (must be one of many sidebars)

CEO sitting forward, head in hand, red faced. I've never seen him more annoyed or less attentive.

This is grueling...CEO is sitting chin in hand, head rhythmic bobbing like you do when you are impatient.

How is all this related to cross?

BOMBSHELL from the journal:

"kill all that is not serving me...eradicate..." (from JA's journal--THREE of us wrote that down when we compared notes after court)

"the darkness I feel is because of myself" TRUE!!

Good morning Katie, and thank you. I got literally sick to my stomach when the judge let in the the and quotes on TA and put them on the screen. and I believe she was wrong.

Did the jury read them or ignore them? I turned off the tv at that point and just went to websleuths to read. Couldnt stomach it. So for those of you who had to sit through it, were there grumblings in the gallery? Were there faces made by the jurors? Were they fed up?

Even Mark Eiglarsh said last night he was over it! Another question, because I had turned off the tv, I did not see testimony about the journals. What was the context of her writing to " kill all that is not serving me"? Did they say when this was written? THAT is the personality I have seen in Jodi since the 48 Hours interview.

At first I got worried ONE juror could be affected by this nonsense. But then I remembered the evidence and the cross and I know rebuttal is coming. I am 64 and coservative so I don't think folks should worry about the older jurors. We get it. They will too.

You deserve a medal or something for sitting through this. You should have seen Beth on HLN last night. She was so funny. I wrote on the other thread. She is so over all this. She said she has had enough!

Thanks and God bless you Katiecoollady.

LOL Sorry - you made me spit out my coffee. I went to a Jesuit school as well and graduated with some of the biggest A-holes in the world.

At my graduation, the president of the University (a Jesuit) let out this beaut:"when choosing whether to leave your wife with a Spaniard or a Jesuit with your money, always choose the Spaniard". Yes, he shortly thereafter arrested for embezzlement. :floorlaugh:

This is the jewelery we (meaning all of us here lol) gave Beth. She said she would wear it this week so...keep looking, like a treasure hunt! Let me know if you see it!

Katie, very beautiful choice! Thank you for all of us!

I am hoping for a death penalty, but due to that sentiment I am ok with LWOP too....

I would hope that whatever verdict the family needs will be given. I could take either DP or LWOP.. but hope family gets what they need.

Let's hope not especially with that preposterous "theory" Jodi's friend Bryan Carr put out there tonight on national television (Nancy Grace) essentially claiming the second story she (JA) told the police is the TRUE one and she's protecting herself and family ....:banghead:

Of all the things Jodi Arias has said, NO ON EVER is going to believe the ninja story. And NO ONE EVER is going to think she gives a squat about any member of her family. She would never try to spare them of any pain. Just being real about this.

Oh one more thing. Travis family friend today asked me if I was writing a book. I'm glad she asked me (so I could clarify) but it gave me a little feeling of heartbreak if people were wondering that about my furious note taking. She has a friend who lurks here who told her about me (shout out to you btw) so I explained where my notes were going and that I was also doing it to keep from blowing my stack in court.

I would never, EVER take advantage of this family by doing anything like that. My participation is just what you see it is. No other agenda whatsoever. In fact I'm wondering what to do with all my journals I'm taking notes on. Anyone want them? ;) Tricia?

I have wondered, with all the note taking if her mother (w/help) was going to write one. Might get same reaction as any for FCA would.:furious:

I think Bryan is surfing net (Hi there :seeya:) maybe seeing what's being said posted idk? He also on NG last week with thinly veiled threat to someone MM? Anyway he's referring to something I saw somewhere 're: case about book/movie The Godmakers.. I think it's called. I looked it up couldn't figure out if was actually novel or based on true events (alleged). I'm not LDS but I know several people who are & I'm over this religion bashing. Coming from a traditional Judaic Christian background some things may seem odd but come on these are not people in black sweat suits in white Nikes drinking KoolAid!

No offense to any Heavens Gate followers who missed their ride on the mother ship.. jmo

Bryan may also be a sociopath or psychopath. He needs to be evaluated/locked away if he doesn't straighten up. And the media needs to back away from this guy. They are fueling his delusions!

I know the crime was so heinous that the DP is appropriate, but I fear the cost is too great. If this was not a DP case alot of this crap would not be coming in.

I agree... the case warrants the DP...but as the DA explained to us in our case, when going for the DP the bar for proof for the jury raises so much higher...oh I want her to fry...but the DP does allow for alot of leeway...its a slippery slope

If the photos of the cuts on her finger were not already in "discovery" and they just recently came out, I would think they were of someone else.
Was wondering when I saw this if any glass found in kitchen trash at crime scene. Bet not... but she'd just say she took it with other stuff.
