I think you are quite pretty. I understand not liking photo's of yourself. I don't like photo's taken of me either. Would you like me to delete it?

No it's cool. It documents me on the scene. lol I look so serious...which I'm sure I was just so pissed at Nurmi / JA, etc.

Just beautiful pictures. Hope the memories today were all good.

If you want to catch what you missed, it's between 57:30 and 58:00 here if I did this correctly.

It was the perfect question, and her answer gave me the willies. The way she turns to the jury so flippantly when she has just been busted in an absolute lie is amazing.

It's also a little fun that at the end when Martinez wraps, Nurmi shoots him a little extra glance. Then as the jury is leaving, Jodi appears to shoot a quick glare at (as best I can tell) Nurmi.

That whole thing was just electric. It's super subtle but I do notice how her face changes to a tightness not there before. But her ability to so smoothly and seamlessly lie to that jury is astounding. True sociopathy at it's finest. Wed ...hurry up and get here!

BREAKING NEWS! Janine Driver confirms her plans to fly in Tues to be in court on Wed. this week. And now I"m headed out to buy my lottery ticket.

Katie
Thank you for sharing
My favorite one is of you both hugging each other! The one shr framed. Very touching!
Hugs
you have so many memories! To sustain you until you meet again.

I don't mind if you use excerpts of my observations. I prefer my user ID not be used, if that's ok.

Well, Ms. PASA, I will do whatever you are comfortable with! I just can't tell you how much I appreciate all you and Katie do. So, I will NOT use your ID name (PASA) and will just snip out all the "fun" stuff (Katie). :)

I will also let them know about Janine (hope I got the name spelled right). She is amazing to watch and just can't wait to hear all the notes. She is one smart cookie and I find myself using some of her info! She has taught me so much and I've been trained in that stuff! May have to buy that book.

I have already been summarizing some of the notes and giving credit back to websleuths.com A LOT! I didn't use exact quotes and made sure other's understood that I did NOT have permission to use exact quotes or full notes. To me, this is very important. A person's words are THEIRS and respect should be showed.

Again, thank you both. Love this forum and may have to start dragging hubby to local trials here. Too bad I missed the Green River, Gary Ridgeway, and the Randy Butler one. We also had the man who kidnapped two children and they finally caught him at a Denny's (sorry can't remember his name...really don't want to). But if I can ever return the favor, please holler at me. Live in North Idaho and can cover Seattle and Montana region as well.

I wish they would scan the gallery more often when they have long sidebars.

That would be the icing on the cake! I'd settle for a pile of ashes with a melted glob of "gas can plastic" found on a side road where the tracker shows her stopped. (there is something up with that third gas can)

Oh my i think I'd faint if they walked with that gun

PASA or KCL - I think the person a couple of people have asked about is this gum-smacker behind JA's mom. This is from Tuesday's session.

Last of the court notes:

Just before Juan re-crosses (is that the right term?) I notice Detective Flores is out of the room. I see him walk in with a folder. Hmmm, that's something new.

Juan's turn-- the atmosphere in the courtroom changes from sleepy to energized.
My notes say "go get her Juan, love your style".

Back to Walmart and the gas can purchase. No sooner does Juan get started, Nurmi blurts out " objection, may we approach". People in the gallery are laughing, and shaking their heads in disbelief. I hear several "I can't believe it" comments.

Juan questions ja regarding Salt Lake City. She says she's never been, then says she's been in the vicinity. We all know West Jordan is a suburb of SLC, she's being difficult. What else is new.

Juan shows the receipts from the gas station in SLC. My notes say "SLC=Busted!!
I hear someone whisper "she's screwed".
Bank statement from June 2008 being admitted. I notice my mood ring is a dark shade of violet, which means I'm happy. I think my mood ring is right on target this time. :)

Another sidebar-- lots of chatter in the gallery, the most I've heard since I began attending. Mostly about the receipts and gas cans. I can't hear what is being said, but do hear the words gas cans, and receipts.

I'm also looking at the bank statement on the big screen, and notice Mesquite, Nevada for 46.11. I don't notice the date, but it I'm feeling pretty confident that is the first place she got gas after leaving Mesa. Mesquite is about an hour from Las Vegas on I-15 going to Salt Lake City.

Juan says there is no record of a gas can being returned to Salinas Walmart on the date she said.
CEO is paying close attention now.
The gallery is on the edge of their seats, some of them literally. Everyone, jury, media, gallery, all paying close attention.

Juan asks ja about Casa Ramos. She goes into how she usually works for large chains. OMG, where does she come up with this stuff???

More jury questions are placed in the basket. Ponytail watching and playing with her pen.

Juan doesn't miss a beat. It's watching a master at work. MOO

Judge calls recess until Wednesday morning.

As we're walking out one of the ladies to my right tells Detective Flores (he's right in front of me) "tell Mr. Martinez he's doing a great job". he chuckles and says he will.
I pat him on the back and tell him I think he's doing a great job too. He says "thanks".

I wait for KCL to come out of the courtroom. We both have "can you believe it" looks on our faces. The jury leaves, escorted by two deputies, one leading, the other behind the jurors. We wait for one of the elevators to open and take us down to the ground floor.

Next up: Happy Hour

We leave the courthouse energized, our hands are literally shaking. What a day!

KCL is so excited she wants to do a happy dance. Outside we talk about pom-poms and doing a cheer. We see Travis' family and go over to talk to them for a few minutes.

I see Beth and almost get brave enough to approach her, and hear her say to someone she's gotta run to do NG show. I decide it's not a good time. :)

Katie DDJ and her guest juror on Dr Drew do an interview for local TV station. We discuss where we're going to go and KCL suggests a little sidewalk cafe a few blocks away.
Sounds good to me. As we walk over we discuss the day, especially the last half hour of testimony. We all feel like it was a truly a bombshell day (to use NG's favorite word).

Across the street are the InSession trucks and mobile studios. There's a line to meet Nancy Grace.
After a short walk we arrive and get a great table outside. It's busy, and great for people watching.
Our drinks arrive and we toast Travis, his family, and Juan. We then put our notebook/journals on the table and KCL takes a photo, then takes one with my phone so I'll have one too. *Thanks KCL*!

We discuss a lot of things about the trial, a bit about what Katie DDJ and her guest will talk about on the show. I refer to her as DDJ's guest because I don't have permission to use her real name. It wouldn't be fair to her if I did without her consent.
We saved spots for my husband and Bill. Hubby arrives about 45 minutes later. Bill arrives some time after that. More talk about the trial and how it went, wondering what will be revealed next week.

KCL talked about her sister Cindy's case, and her appearance on Ricki Lake next week.

It's time for the girls to head over to the mobile studio for the Dr. Drew show, and time for me to head home and recover from a long but exciting day at the court house.

Disclaimer: For what it's worth, these are my personal observations and opinions. Others may have seen things differently than I. :)

Oh wow! Yes, that is her. She is not a relative, to my knowledge.
ja's family sits in the front row.

I did not attend Tuesday, and wasn't aware she was there.

Thank you so much for that screen shot, I've not seen it before. I now see the off the shoulder top that was mentioned.

I am not going to say anymore about her, or try not to. :) But she's one to keep an eye on. I'll leave it at that. :) :)

I just re-watched it. I notice her facial changes and those empty eyes. The "look at my broken finger" water drinking move she has is just lame.

respectfully snipped for space.

I remember the child's name, his escapes me. The two kids who were kidnapped and the little boy murdered. He should suffer like that poor child did, or worse.

I'm not familiar with Randy Butler.

My husband has attended trial a time or two with me. He thinks it's interesting, but isn't obsessed like I am. LOL! He watches the TH shows with me in the evening. :)

I appreciate you keeping my user name on the down-low. :)

Janine is great, I am so excited she will be in town. Especially happy for Katie as I know this is extra special for her.

I wish they would scan the gallery more often when they have long sidebars.

I wish they would let us know when we're on so I can stop chewing gum and digging in my purse for cough drops. LOL!!

I just watched it again too. When the camera focuses on her she is so still and a lot of times doesn't blink for long periods. She comes across like Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs. What a striking difference from that pretty animated bouncy personality that gave those disgusting interviews saying she was innocent.

Lead me to another thought: When the jury asked her why did she even say that, she didn't get they meant why say anything if she had killed him.

Pasa, thank you so much for sharing all your notes. I've been working on RL and have had to curtail my reading. This thread is the only one I can manage to keep up with, if even a day late.

Your information, when added to what KKL posted earlier certainly rounds out our own observations via video stream.

I reviewed parts of the testimony posted just above and I wonder if you and/or KKL would agree the statement by Jodi that if she were to be convicted, it would essentially be because of, "my own bad choices in the beginning," was the final blow to Nurmi. He immediately folded and gave up the ghost at that point.

Note that the term "bad choices" is the contemporary way of saying "bad things I did" without accepting total responsibility.

That is so bizarre at you say that because just yesterday I was thinking that arias reminds me of that character Hannibal Lector as well. The evil "fun" they both seem to share in sadistically hurting other people with that calm veneer even from prison. Funny we had the same thought on the same day....

I think Nurmi probably knows how damning that statement was but JA probably congratulates herself for it. It was like "hey I just made some small mistakes at the beginning of not telling the truth but since that was Travis' fault I did it, no jury will convict ME!" I do think she's that arrogant.

This is one of my questions for you too. The Justice for Travis Alexander facebook page has THOUSANDS of hungry people looking for juror's reactions. If it's OK, I'd like to post your observations over there, with credit to you and websleuths.com if they'd like it. I won't however, mention the "goody folder" Super Juan has simply because I don't want those thousands over here bugging you to no end!

Of course, it's OK, if you'd prefer I don't post your notes. :) No worries. I just feel so lucky that I'm able to read them.

PS-I guess I should ask Ms. PASA and other observers as well! I'm still only on page 9 and haven't read her's yet but thought I better get that out there too. Thanks again, Ladies.

Sparrow Ivy

I'm trying to find the Facebook page you are referencing...can you please post a link? Thanks!

We used to laugh at that photo and she called it "the little orphans" or something like that. It probably was right around the time our Mom was getting sick so it's very poignant to me. It was the beginning of our unbreakable bond. So many tears today. I don't go "here" often.

Thanks guys. I was fortunate to be so unconditionally loved by someone for 29 solid years. But damn do I miss her. I forgot how much.

Oh Katie, prayers being said here for you. God bless you and give you peace.

You're welcome. :) It's the only one I've been able to keep up with lately.
Sometimes RL needs attention. It took me several days to post my notes. LOL!

I miss a lot of the live stream on the days I attend. By the time I get ready, the trip downtown (about 30miles), and waiting to get a spot, it's lunch time.

I"m certainly not complaining... it's been an educational experience, and I want to support the victim's family.

Very interesting observation. I hadn't thought of it that way, but it makes sense.
She never takes responsibility for her own actions. It's always someone or something other than herself at fault.

I'm no fan of Nurmi, but I believe he had an out of control client. He did what he thought was the best for her. I disagree, he could have defended his client without trashing the victim.

Will be interesting to see how next week unfolds, I plan to be there.
