I'm Episcopalian and have hosted families in need both short and long term through my church. Is it possible to get in touch with Travis's church - ward- and ask them if they can help with assisting his family with a place to stay while attending the trial?

I love that they stood their ground, but more so they exercised their right to wear the ribbons. Can you ask the family for extra ribbons to sell, and/or put them in your action? Maybe $10,00 a ribbon all proceeds go to the family. I would love one.

YAY, KCL was in court today. Dick is a bonafied quack, mho. I also want to say - how dare he say in his words that JA is a peace loving individual.

In the interrogation tapes, It was difficult to reconcile the subject matter with the melodious sound of his oh-so-soothing voice... Good Lord, I'd have confessed to whatever he wanted, just so long as he kept talkin' to me! Whew! Maybe when it's all over, he'd be kind enough to read us all a bedtime story on a CD available for purchase... I'll take 3!

Just wondering if you know... is the Mitigation Specialist a lawyer that maybe specializes in that aspect of law? Or is a Mitigation Specialist a totally separate career? Just curious:dunno:

It is a separate career. Normally they have a background in social services, and many are also paralegals.

I want to know if any if the court watchers know if the powers that be know about the sneaky things JA has been doing lately? If not, do they have the ability to inform them of the pill popping the sneaky file folder hiding it under her butt. These are MAJOR THINGS that they need to be made aware of.

For you Travis - they might try to fade the ribbon's away, but your spirit and memory can't be faded. So new ribbons to use -- to place on facebook, the other pages or anywhere and everywhere!

This is indeed a real donation link! I gave several weeks ago and got a very nice email from Samantha herself. It was thought up by just some guy on FB who had "an idea"! The admins contacted Chris Hughes and away it went. It goes to Samantha and once in a while, the Admins rotate the link back up. Just last night posted on Juan's fan page on FB that the family desperately needs funds and please give a dollar or two, or prayers/thoughts if they can't.

It's very common in courtrooms across the country for the victim's family & friends to be barred from wearing any button, pin, sign or anything that indicates they are remembering and reminding people of their loss. Court is supposed to be a neutral zone where the jurors are to consider the evidence and then the laws, following the instructions they are given. Feeling sorry for the victim's family is not supposed to factor into their legal obligation. And while we observers have all kinds of emotions, court is a very serious place. The law comes first, not feelings. That said, some courtrooms are more strict than others, and some pins/ribbons are more subtle than others. So it all depends on the jurisdiction and judge.

It is at the Palomar Hotel right across from the courthouse. You have to ask for the rooftop bar (by the pool), or they will point you to the indoor bar.

Were you in court today? Why were you watching that particular juror? I'm confused.

Yes i was in court all day. My post referenced the morning session only at that point. I nor Skymama did not see this particular juror do anything untoward as i had heard rumored. Doesn't mean something didnt happen - we just personally did not see it. I watched her again in the afternoon and she is expressive and attentive. She appears to smile but perhaps not at anyone in particular. Would be interesred in other court watchers on the scene tho.

I am so glad I had a meeting all morning and only heard 15 minutes of juror ?'s. I didn't listen to JW, but was estatic when JM was provided time. I feel bad that I was quasi rude to people who wanted to talk to me during JM and his take down of RS. I really do need to just watch the YouTube at night. But I can't .help.it!!

On a totally random note...one of my friends sons is dating Scott Petersons niece. I assured him it doesn't matter. He was in shock that I was willing to bless a DP in this case.
