No comments on this yet in the other thread, so I'm bringing it over here:

We've been discussing that at court but no one knows what it was about (yet). But the yellow shirt/jeans guy was NOT a member of the family. He walked in to court on a break with some papers, went up to the Judge, was sworn in and escorted out. I don't even know if it had anything to do with this trial. He looked like someone working vs. a witness or anything like that.

"she had a very difficult time letting go" (duh- that kind of defines a stalker in a way yes or no? lol that was me not jM)

I wonder how she feels about being called "Ma'am".

"that's a pattern of stalking isn't it?" ( I was getting really sleepy and that comment shot me up like a meerkat!)

Lets leave the jury on that stalking note, shall we? YES. Court adjourned on that note YES

After jury dismissed JA becomes her animated self again close talking w/ JW. I find the non verbal behavior when she close talks with Maria very seductive looking and it makes me uncomfortable.

That's it folks! Was just there for the pm and same today. I have some other tasks to do this morning but will be there for the pm session! And all day manana!

:seeya:

good morning all,

kcl thanks for your notes from inside the courtroom. i agree the girly behavior these two are doing is so uncomfortable to watch. you know when this trial is over ja will throw jw under the bus and claim insufficient council. my dh said something about it when i showed him on repeat. he thought ja enjoys the smell of jw's perfume. lol
looking forward to your next installment. :seeya:

KCL: please watch this clip!!!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!

My thoughts are obviously ALV's arrogance/lack of impulse control is contagious and is wafting right over to the defense table.

The cushy intimate close talk is much more weird and inappropriate with Maria DeLaRosa than with JW. It's almost like two college girls trying to turn on some guys with hints of a "3 way" or something. It has a very weird intimate feel to it unlike the dynamic with JW.

Just found this resource:

http://www.indiabix.com/body-language/hand-to-face-gestures/

Katie asked Janine this on the show this week and she said they are probably bored but I think so many of them covering their mouths is interesting. Holding themselves back from wanting to say something? I know I feel that way all the time in that courtroom!

Well, if one applies this part from that page in reference to covering the mouth:

"If, however, he covers his mouth while you are speaking, it indicates that he feels you are lying! "

Then those six jurors in the back row think ALV is full of it :D

And I second all of that!!!

Katie, next time your in court and AVL is getting on the stand will you do a shout out to her to remember to bring her glasses to the stand with her??? Starting to wonder if this is done on purpose!

:great: OMG! That would be awesome! I would laugh SO hard! :great:
(although I don't really want you to do it as we need you in the courtroom and not :jail: )

My dear sweet Katie . . . YOU are the best! Do you know how wonderful it is for those of us who are stuck working and cannot attend, cannot watch live and spend every evening trying to catch up? To come here and read your daily summary is such a treat!!

I think I've just about caught up on most of the testimony from yesterday and I had some of the same observations as you. I noticed that the judge seemed to overrule JW more, I thought Juan looked extremely handsome today, I loved how Juan was on a roll with his questioning of Alyce - he's got her number for sure and is not going to let her run over him - I especially loved the "hypothetical" line of questioning - he is brilliant, and I love watching him (I would hate to be on the other end of his cross though!)

Alyce's demeanor reminds me so much of Jodi's - similar body language, similar defiance, similar language - I wonder if the defense and Jodi coached Alyce, or if Alyce coached Jodi? Unfortunately for them, they have run across a tough prosecutor.

Thanks again Katie for your insight and note-taking - you really help fill in the gaps for many of us. Bless you!!!!

GET OUTTA MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I made note of a few things earlier on this and after yesterday - it really struck me that one trained the other and I just now finished tossing this together to ask KCL and PASA the same thing!

She had trouble yesterday (or the day before?) identifying just how many times she's testified in criminal trials. Which I found strange as a. she admitted it was around 10 and b. she KNEW she'd be asked this very basic question in court. I think I'd know exactly how many criminal trials I'd testified in if I could count them on both hands, which by the way she did. Held up her hands to count them. It was bizarre.

Once again, on her OWN record she comes across not wanting to answer the question directly, not having the exact information literally at her fingertips in this case and evasive cat and mouse game with "the Prosecutor".

I'd say the theme that sums up her entire cross is this:

"Just because you ask me, doesn't mean I have to answer"

Blah, actually you DO Ms LaViolette. YOU are not in control of this house here and now, Mr. Martinez and the Judge is. You'd be smart to step off your high horse and in to some humility today.

But I'm thinking it's too late. Your technique has backfired, you've lost this jury and your reputation in the process.

Was it worth it? Seriously was this WORTH IT TO YOU? For God's sake!

Amen!:rocker:

personally, I am more disgusted with the judge than I am with alice.

The judge even tells her at one point, yes or no. Alice totally ignored the judge and answerd Juans question .. Took her about 5 minutes to answer.. The judge did NOTHING.

I think, for some reason, the judge feels sympathetic towards her. Maybe it's because she knows ALV is going to get REAMED (can I say that on here?). :what:

Great catch!

KCL, was it apparent by the end of the day that the judge was exhausted? Her rulings had that tone imo. I imagine it would be mentally exhausting weighing the countless objections and having the continual sidebars. And then keeping up with JM's sharp mind and ALV's cute diversions.

I was so exhausted myself that I fear any assessment I might give would be pure projection (I really don't watch the Judge that much to be honest).

Thank you so much for this. Also, both blame everyone but themselves (for AVL: she hasn't seen certain evidence, so it's DT's fault; JA lying is bc her dad abused her, so he is the one lying. For JA: so many examples, but #1 is it is TA's fault she slit his throat).

BBM
It's certainly is. Living alone way up here it's usually my dogs or cats that give me a laugh... but you just gave me the most enjoyable floor rolling I have had in quite sometime! Just ANOTHER thing to thank you for.... :)!

Glad you got a kick out of that...it was crazy funny. :floorlaugh:

I also got tweeted a "kudos" by Dr. Cheryl Arutt yesterday for informing the family of their rights.

[/QUOTE]

I am a huge fan of Dr. Arutt. I think she needs a permanent spot on Dr. Drew... as well as you and KatieDDJ!

He could have been a detective getting a bench warrant issued for his case? Not THIS case, but one of his possibly.
