UPDATE: 1:37 PM ET We're told Richardson's jet was scheduled to take off from Montreal-Trudeau Airport. A rep for the airport said the jet is either still there or has just taken off.

The doctors said he just hit his head exactly right and all the swelling and damage went inward as opposed to outward which was his demise.

A similar thing happened to my nephew's stepmom. She was talking and joking around in the ambulance and just got worse until she died. The way it was explained to me is some brain injuries act like a domino effect and get worse over time. The brain quits talking to major organs and they eventually shut down and the patient dies.

Oh, thank goodness. I wondered initially why they took her to a small facility when Montreal was close enough to get to by med-evac.
I pray it's not too late.

I didn't know til I went to the IMDB that she's Vanessa Redgrave's daughter!
I probably knew and forgot.. not being a follower of most Hollywood things.

Sounds like a severe subdural hematoma. If caught soon enough they can sometimes relieve the pressure but cutting out a piece of skull.

I hope she's OK!

This was just sent to us from the magazine, who earlier today reported that the actress had died.
Time Out New York sincerely apologizes for the confusion. We stand by our sources, and our friend of the family first confirmed "dead" and then called back to say "brain dead." We find the situation incredibly tragic and obviously wish to only report the facts.
We stand by our new statement that she is brain dead and not expected to survive. Unfortunately, the article was not taken down — our website crashed from traffic. Time Out New York regrets the error.

It is confusing. I'm just going to hope and pray for the best.
 
I hope she is okay, sending prayers for her and her family. I had a friend in school our senior year that went skiing, and he is now paralyzed from the incident. Hopefully she pulls through.
 
Oh strange. Why is there such irresponsible media reports that go on more and more. All about the headlines now a days! Not about integrity of the reporting nor writing/content. Years ago, people would have been fired for acting so irresponsible.

It sounds like she was not wearing a helmet. Unusual if that is the case IMO. Even in the Rocky Mountains, they had my husband wear a helmet for his lesson. Our friend Rusty's son, 10 yrs old buckled in the back seat of a car died after a small accident. I suppose these things do happen, seemingly so innocent.

When I heard the news about a head injury, I recalled an incident I witnessed in grade school. One boy threw a rock and hit another boy in the head. He went home, and the next day in school we learned he passed away in his sleep. This was over 30 years ago, but I still remember how his mom said that she just thought it was a bad bump, but the family was devastated.

My hope is that since she went pretty quickly to the hospital that she will get through this.

Canadian Press appears to be the sole source of all the info about this event so regardless of how many media outlets parrot each other it's not a confirmation of anything until CP says it is.

There are currently three rumors:

1) Richardson is deceased period.

2) Richardson is brain dead but on life support in a Montreal hospital.

3) Richardson is brain dead but on life support and on a private jet heading for NYC, a mere 40 minutes from Montreal by air.

Rumor 3 appears implausible, if she couldn't be revived in Montreal she won't be revived in NYC either, it's not like she was in some banana republic hospital, afaik some of the world's best neurologists work in Montreal because of the extensive neurological research facilities that are located there.

Can't comment on rumor 2 unless it's officially confirmed.

If rumor 1 is true there is likely to be an autopsy by a local Coroner's Office so the body won't be removed from the city for a while.

Either case, it's really bad :(
 
I'm thinking it could be plausible that she is brain dead and on her way back to NY. They have a home in Millbrook, NY. I think it could be very possible that she's on her way back here so that family and friends may say "goodbye" before they take her off life support.

I hope the media is wrong and that she is doing better than is being reported. It's a horrible situation all the way around.

These kinds of stories scare me to death.

Praying that there is a miracle here.

She was in the movie "Patty Hearst." The movie got rotten reviews but she was absolutely amazing in it.

:( I keep trying to think of something to say but nothing is coming to me except this is so sad. God be with her family, especially her boys.

I hope this is not true, but it very well could be. I think there is less red-tape involved in transporting a live person vs. a deceased person into the country.

Oddly enough, my daughter and I happened to watch The Parent Trap on TV two nights ago. Prior to that, I was not familiar with Natasha at all. She's such a beautiful woman, and seems to sparkle with life. I pray that she'll survive and that the reports of her poor condition are greatly exaggerated.
