IMO, LE has been onto this guy from the time they processed AB's car. Soon after they found her car, they announced that multiple agencies were involved in her case, including US Marshalls, which would suggest that a former convict is involved. Sure enough, it's the US Marshalls Fugitive Task Force that is looking for him (along with other agencies). It would make sense that his DNA is in her car, and they knew his identity then, and have likely been searching for him. Perhaps LE knows far, far more about him and his criminal activity than we do and felt that looking for him quietly could help to keep AB safe. Or. could help to keep him from running.

Of course, the big question is, WHY was he ever allowed to bond out of attempted murder & kidnapping, especially given his long, violent criminal history??????????????

Bingo! I concur with your assessment.

Here is another link to the video with Chief Register that isn’t live, so it should work.

He said, Further investigation and analysis of evidence ( sounds like DNA) has determined that yazeed was at the same location and was involved in taking her.

Sounds like they have more than just him being at the same location for them to say that, I bet its DNA from the car.

One of the most painful things at WS is follow and contribute to a case like Aniah's, then have the media and public interest fade as the person is never found.

Thank god there is some traction here, and we can still hope for a positive outcome.

I believe there to be a female accomplice as well.
See his past arrest below/with female accomplice which arrest record consists of prostitution rings. smh!!!! my god.

Any of this sound like some of the speculation we have seen in here? smh!!! what a monster!!

Elmore man charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and robbery in January hotel incident

"When Ford and Yazeed were arrested, SBI Capt. Joe Herman said last month that the bureau got involved when the Macon County Sheriff's Office received a tip of a car driving erratically down the interstate.

"Macon County deputies made contact with the driver and then inside the vehicle was a 77-year-old white male that had been severely beaten," Herman said. "Their investigation determined that the male had been beaten, robbed and abducted from his vehicle in Montgomery."

DBM - read wrong article

They found her car in Montogmery, correct?

*If* it's the guy that is swirling like crazy on SM, then wouldn't they already have his DNA from the car that would lead to a definite chase/charge for him? Them not releasing his name with the picture doesn't particularly add up for me.

Well, looks like they were one step ahead of me on the same track.

His previous arrest says “planed attack” in the article I read as well.

In the description of his previous crime, it mentioned that the elderly man was held in a hotel room. That gives me a bit of hope that she may be alive and in a hotel somewhere.

I believe it's the same guy. I have all ideas the police know him well, but I'm not sure why they wouldn't release his name. Of course it looks really bad that he's a violent criminal and out of jail. MOO.
My opinion only....I bet the police were hoping and praying this guy didn’t have anything to do with her disappearance. If it is determined that the POI is responsible for her disappearance, then I feel that the legal system will have liability issues related to releasing him -especially since they, more than anyone else, knew what he was capable of! The cynical side of me wonders if they postponed revealing this info about him for as long as they could for fear that it would point fingers back at them when they did.

I've been lurking for a while without an account but wanted to make one to state a theory. Is it possible that the car he was in may have looked like a police car in the dark to Aniah so she pulled over and was then robbed, attacked, etc? I have friends who have Crown Vics who are avid police enthusiasts but they use their cars for escorting during funerals and they use flashing lights that are different colors than red or blue (ex: green and white). The cars don't look like police cars from the side view, but from the front view you definitely wouldn't be able to tell because of the modifications added on. I know it's a completely different car but a Lincoln Town Car seems like it would look similar to a police car at 11pm, especially when you're tired and have been driving all day. This guy has previous accounts of attempted murder from 2012 and 2019 that equal up to 4 counts..I don't understand how he was let out on bail both times.

This kind of criminal will not be taken in peacefully. I think he will resist to the end.
Past arrest he rammed a police officers car.
Where is Aniah
If he is holding her hostage they will negotiate.
High Alert
Prayers for all involved in the take down and to family of Aniah.
All here on this thread
It's about to unfold.
Thinking of all of you local.

Some theories on why it took this long to release his photo:

1. The friends completely mudding up the investigation - starting with "she went to Sky Bar" and then to "met up with a guy she met on a dating site" and then finally to "met up with a white guy named Eric" - all of this could have been very confusing to investigators and possibly led them down a lot of dead-end roads.
2. When they found the car, they were confident that they would find the perps DNA and/or prints based on the initial investigation, thus leading them to a suspect.
3. They didn't want to release a photo of a random person in the gas station without having some type of indication that they were involved

Or perhaps a combination of all of the above.

Question: would a hypothetical DNA profile found at the scene have indicated the perp's skin color and sex? If so, maybe they did get one and realized that their perp was a black male and not a white male (as suspected by her friends) and thus they circled back to the man in the gas station video?
