Guess I'd better not ask what 'Days of our Lives' is then?

I think it's all over you know, and the media haven't run with it because it was just a new flyer, asking hunters to look for her.

I suppose that provides a pretty big clue to what Klasskids think has happened to Brittney, anyway.

I'm from the Pensacola area and familiar with pretty much all of the various locations that have been discussed in this case and while I can't say anything for sure about the body that was found in P'cola this morning, I will say that based on the area I would have to guess that it is not related to BW. That is FAR from the best area of town and the body found would most likely be that of a prostitute, drug addict, etc. This wouldn't be an area that I would ever pick as one anyone would drive from the Styx river area in order to dump a body for several reasons......there are many "better" locations to conceal a body closer to the area where she was last seen/known to be in regards to actual concealment ability, chances of someone discovering the body in this area would be pretty high even if it was concealed, and the chances of someone being seen dumping a body in this area (especially someone who didn't look like they were from the neighborhood) are quite high since it is a populated area.

Someone mentioned Baptist Hospital being in that area and it is, but Baptist also has three life flight helicopters and those serve not only the panhandle, but S AL as well, including Mobile and Baldwin Counties. It is normal for someone in any of these areas to be transported to Baptist Hospital. They are a Level II trauma center and there are no Level I trauma centers in Pensacola.

Well, yes, it's a good idea, but someone on here definitely had it and tried to get it going a while ago. Tried to put flyers in hunting lodges or something? Does anyone else remember?

They may have and they may have actually put flyers up, but deer hunting season in AL didn't start until 11/20 for everything but bow hunting (which opened a month or so before) so hunters wouldn't be out in the woods prior to that time, at least not in the same way they are during hunting season. They may go out and check their tree stands or food plots prior to the season starting, but they aren't sitting and walking in the woods for hours/days on end as they will be now until the end of January. This is the time where hunters will be most useful and will be most likely to travel through areas that haven't been searched already and maybe can't be searched (for various reasons) by the general public. Also, during this time many of the areas where the searchers were able to search in the summer and fall are now being used by hunters and hunting clubs, hence the comment in the article about hunting season "limits the areas they can look."

"There [are] people, I do believe, that [have] knowledge of Brittney's disappearance. Please, please come forward and tell me where my baby is."

"It has been six and a half months since Brittney's been missing. If you know anything -- I don't care how small it is -- please, please let somebody know. 'Cause I really do believe that certain people know what happened to my daughter."

The family is looking into getting professional help for Brittney Wood's 2-year-old daughter, Payton, who still believes her mother went off to the store.

"Nobody knew what to do, I mean, what do we tell a 2-year-old?" Chessie Wood said. "We thought this was going to be very short-lived, we're just going to find Brittney, y'know, where ever and bring her home.

"And now she's saying 'my mama's been at the store a very long time, I think she's buying everything in the store. Can you tell her to come home?

"I have my baby's picture all over my Christmas tree. That's how I get to spend this Christmas with Brittney," says Chessie. "There's people I do believe that has knowledge of Brittney's disappearance. Please, please come forward and tell me where my baby is."

KLAAS Kids says it has conducted 41 separate searches from Grand Bay to Robertsdale.

Hmm, I hadn't seen this photo before. It appears to be a mugshot?

The people that have knowledge...who could these people be?:waitasec:

As I remember they called, asked and were told no. Not sure exactly who they caled, whether it was LE or like some sort of Department of Wildlife or something.

I recalled this, too. Here are the posts from October.

This time of year, many people are preparing their camps/land for hunting season. There will be many eyes and feet on the ground, in many places where there is usually no activity. I am hoping someone stumbles across a clue to help find Brittney. But then, how many of those people are aware of her missing???

Okay, that has me thinking. I wonder if the wildlife conservation enforcement officers are aware of her missing. They go in and out of camps all season. Just wondering how to go about coordinating a way to get info from officers to the folks in these camps. Would be great to have flyers posted in these places.

I would love y'alls opinion on this. I would be willing to make a phone call to the Spanish Ft. office of wildlife management to see if they could pass out flyers, spread info about Brittney. Do any of you know if this would be too much to ask or if it's already been done? Just don't want to step on anyones toes.

It's a "no" on the wildlife conservation dept. getting word out to hunting camps. I know, it was a long shot.

Well done to tidbit for trying, anyway. It was obviously a good idea all along, but I suppose when an organisation like KlassKids asks, people tend to listen more.

Anything that helps find this young woman is good, anyway. I worry about her little girl just waiting and waiting and thinking Mommy has just abandoned her to go shopping. I think maybe it is time to start preparing her gently for the truth about Brittney being lost. Even the youngest children often sense when adults are hiding something from them.

I agree! Especially when they see EVERYONE else coming back after 'shopping' .....so sad.

I agree that its long past time to tell Peyton something close to the truth. Little kids may not understand, but they will one day. And when they do it's better for them to understand the truth, than to continue to be lied to. Poor baby.

That video of CW just makes me go HMMMMMMMMMMMM.

I couldn't bare to watch CW's interviews until today. I wish that I hadn't because it really aggravated me.

I'm going to alert on my own post before I finish typing what I want to say to clarify WHY her statements really get under my skin. I'll come back to edit my post if it is permissible.

As I remember they called, asked and were told no. Not sure exactly who they caled, whether it was LE or like some sort of Department of Wildlife or something.

I'm sure the AL Dept of Conservation, the agency that is responsible for policing all lands that aren't Federal lands, and all of their game wardens are very aware of this case and are doing all they can within their jobs to keep an eye out for anything related to this case, but I'm not sure what else they can really do within their daily job duties. As far as putting flyers up at cabins/camps, that wouldn't really be a viable option in my opinion for several reasons.....there is going to be a very limited # of individuals who will visit that cabin/camp and those who will visit are already aware of the situation most likely, but placing flyers at convenience stores/gas stations in the area is the best way to be sure everyone is aware since pretty much ALL hunters and fishermen in a given location are going to have that one store they stop at prior to heading into the woods/river. You are also reaching the general population as well, so killing 2 birds with one stone.

I think it is time to tell her, especially with the Holidays- no child wants to feel forgotten or second place in her Mommy's eyes. I know what Payton will go through as I was slightly older than her when I wemt through hearing the news myself- I will never forget the day I found out my daddy was gone.. I remember my grandma calling me into the living room and saying, "pie, we have to talk" (Pie is their name for me, or Pie Dear, coming from sweetie pie) and telling me that my daddy had hurt himself and that he was in heaven with the angels but that anytime I wanted to I could talk to him and he would hear me bc he was with God. I remember just blanking out and spinning a large globe for a while, the reality took a long time to set in. I do not remember his Mass or burial, or anything from the months following but my mom has told me I would go through periods where I would just scream at the top of my lungs continually. Continually. I was around Payton's age (about 4) and received counseling. I also developed an imaginary friend as a coping mechanism. Imaginary friends are now considered a healthy way to for children to deal w loneliness or trauma. I pray that Payton is told in a loving way soon that Mommy probably won't be coming back (she does not need to know ANY details) but that she can talk to Mommy anytime she wants and she will hear her. I pray that there will be closure for Brittney and poor, poor Payton. My family is very functional other than my birth father and I now have a great stepfather I call Dad who stepped up to the plate. I pray that if Brittmey doesn't come back, for any reason, a lady like my Dad will do the same. Because she will REALLY need positive female role models.
