Early on someone mentioned pain clinics, i'm sure he was a patient at one. Are there several in the area? Dr Shopping isn't as easy as it once was, but it's still available. If he was filing for disability due to his back, he almost likely had to see a pain mgmnt Dr to get the write off. AKA a specialist.

I contend that I don't think Brit had a gun at all. Does anyone know who stated it was her gun, first?

Ok, I'm sorry I thought I already covered that. The reason that Chessie and I believe Derek said on the interviews that she wouldn't be in any trouble. Chessie was thinking that Brittney might have been hiding because of the gun DH used was hers and she wasn't(isn't) old enough to own a gun. And just in case that was it, they were letting her know to come out of hiding that was also was the reasoning for putting Derek on the news with that phone # for her to call. We still don't know for sure who if anybody that gun was registered to. All we have is CW told us that WWH told her that it was an unregistered gun. And also Brittney's traffic warrants. Remember in the beginning LE was pushing the issue that she's 19 and if she wanted to leave thats her right. They treated her as she went to party and would just pop back up. :banghead:

Steph, thanks for this. I was actually referring to the tickets /fines she could have gotten in trouble for, not the gun. I remember something like somebody saying Britt thought she was gonna go to jail bc she didn't have $$ to pay her fines...so some people thought that's why she disappeared. Then they thought she didn't return bc she found out Donne killed himself. I remember asking how much her fines were bc if that's what was keeping her from coming home, then I'd be willing to put up some $$ to pay her unpaid fines off. Now, in hindsight, I don't believe she left of her own accord anyway. Gosh the whole situation sucks. I know le likes to do things their way but imvho I think their general practice of classifying runaway adults needs an overhaul.

I really can't decide about who owned the gun. I think I'd like to know if Brittney had been threatened or attacked by anyone in the year or so before she disappeared. I mean anyone outside the family/bunch facing charges.

If she was leading a risky lifestyle and didn't feel she had anyone to fall back on, I can see why she might have wanted one. Maybe her brothers going to prison had made her feel especially alone and vulnerable?

Thanks Quester, but I have to disagree on this one. Zeaux is actually the first person that mentioned Donnie killed himself with the gun Brittney had. Zeaux told several of us that in the very beginning of this case. Zeaux told us alot of things that took weeks & months to become available in the media. Literally. Since every single thing Zeaux said pertaining to this case turned out to be true (including the fact Brittney was raped when she was 9), then personally I have no reason to doubt Zeaux now. From Zeaux I learned Britt was raped at a very young age, the perpetrator & his jail sentence, the gmom that let Britt & her siblings smoke weed & get drunk, Chessie's issues w/ various things including drugs & parenting skills, Wally's issues, all about Britt's ex Ph's dad, all about Donnie Holland & his cronies of the Wood fam & Kent fam, that Britt didnt grad 8th grade, that Britt was on Donnie's family plan w/ her cell up til a few weeks before everything went down, Donnie's (& others) addiction & pills being sold &/or traded, that Britt had an argument w/ Chessie right before she left, and most importantly - that Britt had a gun illegally...and that's not even all of it. Every single thing Zeaux told some of us turned out to be 100% truth & fact and was said waaaaay before Chessie ever said anything. Zeaux never had a bad word to say about Steph. It stuck with me bc some of our minds automatically went to Wally & Steph, that maybe there was more that the public wasn't seeing, but from what I remember Zeaux had nice things to say about them except for the mention of Wally's past (which he's overcome & deserves kudos for).

If you ever start THAT petition, can it be a worldwide one? Only over here in Europe we have a beautiful 5-year old girl who vanished and police refused to put out an abduction alert at first because no-one had seen her being abducted; and a 53-year old married man (former teacher) who groomed a 13-year old for a year before taking her off somewhere. No abduction alert at first there either, because he said he loved her and he didn't force her to go. That's all right then.

They are both still missing and I don't think the five year old is ever coming home. She has the loveliest name - Fiona Chafoulais and is -was? - such a beautiful little thing.

Wood's mother feels Brittney was abused

Snipped:
Chessie Wood believes her daughter Brittney knew arrests were coming in a sex crimes investigation before she disappeared.

She also believes her daughter was sexually abused by her now-dead uncle, Donald Holland, Sr.

"I was told by authorities that Brittney was one of his victims," said Chessie Wood.

Snipped:
Chessie Wood says she asked her daughter Brittney if anyone had touched her or made her feel uncomfortable and she told her 'No.'

"A lot of rape victims do this. We don't know why they will protect the molester," said Chessie Wood.

Snipped:
Holland would have made six, except authorities said he used Brittney Wood's gun to kill himself.

"Why did Brittney carry a gun?" asked FOX10.

"For protection," answered Chessie Wood. "She had a lot of obsessive ex-boyfriends and look what was going on across the Bay... I guess she was scared."

But Chessie Wood said if her daughter did run out of fear, she would not have left her gun or cell phone behind.

But CW herself doesn't seem to find the stuff going on across the bay very frightening.

I interpreted AstroKitty's question as who, of the players in this case, first stated that BW owned the gun. I could be wrong.

Maybe Steph should address your questions/points??

Wow! That's so darn sad isn't it? You'd think with human trafficking laws involving worldwide justice departments, that new laws classifying runaways & how missing persons' cases should be handled would take place. New legislation is a must.

Oh waitasec... Are you referring to "in the media"? I was taking it literally, like who spoke first, as in when the issue of the gun was first brought to our attention? You see, I was here right from the beginning. I remember when Zeaux posted things, then deleted a few things bc of the police investigation, then weeks later stuff starts hitting the public media. I know I found out from Zeaux & it was very early on, before the police even knew. We implored Zeaux to go to le and tell le everything they knew, even if they were afraid. As far as I know, Zeaux did the right thing even though they were afraid. I think it has something to do with why they haven't posted since bc I'm thinking le probably said to lay low in case they're called as a witness or something.

That was me, I honestly think some doctor shopping was going on.

Now with Steph posting about a dr in that vicinity that was involved in illegal pill distribution, well Jeesh can't help but turn my focus there too. I mean seriously what if?

I love you Quester!

Actually nope. ;) From my understanding Zeaux told le everything they told some of us & I'm not at liberty to say since I'm certain it shouldn't be as it hasn't been in the media. That's one of the posts i believe that was deleted or edited. I remember & it wasn't CW, which is hard to believe I know.

Zeaux, if you're reading here still, I really hope you can come back here someday. I would like to thank you for bringing so much to our attention about Brittney's plight. You helped us so much. You helped her as well by sharing your info with police. Thank you for doing the right thing.

Now ... did Zeaux's informant's last name start with an "H" or a "W"? :giggle:
