MACC? Who is that?
”The Metro Area Crime Center (MACC) was opened in October of 2016. The MACC was specifically designed to operate as a multi-agency unit with the primary mission of being a centralized body wherein each Metro Agency can be represented and contribute to the process of gathering and sharing information. The MACC collects, evaluates, analyzes and disseminates information and intelligence data regarding criminal activity in, and around, the Jefferson County Metropolitan Area.”

My heart hurts for PH's family as they are likely following the search in intense anticipation and fear. Although we have no confirmation of a connection to PH, the agony of not knowing and waiting must be pure hell.

Whoever or whatever they are looking for, related to PH or otherwise, is likely to lead to bad news for someone.

MACC.....google is your friend :)

Metro Area Crime Center

Yes, I researched them last nite (I did Google ). They have 2 divisions, one being investigative unit that represents all law enforcement agencies in the county and a separate video division that studies videos. They didn't have any updates on this case, however. They can be reached by telephone 205-325-5700.

I love Websleuths. I appreciate your attempt to get factual information out there.
That’s a lot of good questions. If I have an opportunity to speak to police I will try to get some of those answered.
Right now I’m actually out in Hueytown where several agencies are conducting an investigation at a house. Birmingham and Trussville police have been out here. I’ll keep you updated if anything happens.

ETA:
“Hueytown PD crime scene unit just arrived. Still unclear which agency is the lead.”

Investigators return to Hueytown neighborhood as part of ongoing probe
ETA:
“Investigators from multiple law enforcement agencies returned to a Hueytown neighborhood Friday morning as part of a probe that began early Thursday afternoon.

The focus of the probe is a house and surrounding property on Chapel Drive at Love Street. Authorities have not publicly commented on the nature of the investigation, but those on the scene include Birmingham police homicide officials, Trussville and Hueytown police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and K9 and Jefferson County’s Metro Area Crime Center.

[SBM]

Neighbors say an elderly man used to live at the home, but family members took him out of the house a while back to care for him. They said it wasn’t clear whether anybody is currently living in the house.

The police presence in Hueytown began about 1:30 p.m. Thursday when investigators received a tip about an ongoing undisclosed investigation. Initially Hueytown police shut down Pinewood Avenue from Johnson Drive to the girls’ softball park but later reopened that roadway and moved to the second location where more than a dozen marked police cars and unmarked vehicles congregated on Chapel Drive beginning shortly before 5:30 p.m.

[SBM]

They obtained a search warrant for the house and property and set a 9 a.m. meetup time to be back out at the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as of 9 a.m. said they had not yet been notified of the investigation or the need for their assistance at this point.
