Not only that, this article says:
"Also missing from his report is any description of the gun, its make, or its manufacturer. Consider that it was a pump-action shotgun, in which the user has to pump the barrel to load a shell into the chamber. And the shotgun was loaded when it was recovered, meaning that even after shooting her brother “accidentally”, Amy Bishop had loaded it again. Indeed, Officer Solimini says now that he recalls a hole in the downstairs ceiling where Amy Bishop fired another shell after shooting her brother, which would mean she reloaded it twice, and she was carrying an extra shell in her pocket."

I think this is outrageous. The article also says she " Or how she had managed to shoot him at such close range that there was only an inch-and-a-half hole in his chest and no spread of pellets?"

What kind of accident was it? At the very least they should have charged her for what she did at the dealership. Since she got away with all of it in her brother's demise, I would guess she could have been expecting to get away with what she did to her co-workers at Alabama. She'd say "I don't remember doing it" and they'd just let her go.

Thanks, JJenny, your post is well worth repeating. This sounds more like an angry execution than an accident. The absence of a thorough follow-up is frightening and inexcusable.

Police are currently at Dr. Amy Bishop Anderson's house.

They went to the house with a search warrant. While there, they suspected "something" that might be dangerous. They sent in a robot as a precaution to make sure there was no danger. Nothing dangerous was found. Police are continuing with the search.

Dr. Amy Bishop Anderson is accused of shooting 6 of her co-workers at UAHuntsville. Three people died and three others were injured during the shooting that happened one month ago today.

We have a crew on the scene, and will bring you more updates as they are available.

The road was closed and homes adjacent to Bishop's home were evacuated.Police sent a small robot into the home. The WAFF 48 News Crew then reports hearing a small boom followed by a larger boom.

Dr. Amy Bishop was arrested one month ago today. She's accused of shooting six colleagues during a biology department meeting on the UA Huntsville campus.

Three victims died, three others are recovering from their injuries. Bishop is charged with one count of capital murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Thirty days after the cold-blooded murders of her colleagues the police get a search warrant for the house? Wait... What?

Police went to her home Friday with a search warrant and found a piece of PVC pipe capped at both ends. A robot detonated the pipe. Police Supervisor John Turis said it turned out not to be dangerous and there were no bomb-making materials found.

Bishop and her husband were questioned in the attempted pipe bombing of a Harvard professor in 1993. Turis told The Huntsville Times that Friday's search was not related.

The husband's attorney, Roy Miller, said a computer and video camera were taken during the search.

Huntsville Police's Major Crimes Unit searched Dr. Amy Bishop Anderson's house Friday. They say they arrived around 9:00 am.

...Then, the bomb squad used a robot to disrupt the PVC pipe in the Anderson's backyard. ...Investigators collected evidence from the home in bags and boxes for further investigation.

WHNT News 19 knocked on the Anderson's door to give them a chance to comment; however, no one answered.

Huntsville shooting suspect Amy Bishop will appear in court next week.

A March 23 preliminary hearing has been set for the former University of Alabama in Huntsville professor who's accused of shooting six colleagues and killing three.

Bishop, who has since been fired, is charged with capital murder and attempted murder.

Bishop's attorney, Roy Miller, says he will argue that Bishop is insane.

No surprise. What else is there when there's witnesses & a smoking gun?

Bishop, being the sociopath she is won't throw herself on the mercy of the court w/ a guilty plea, IMO.

Too bad the state of AL will be spending all that $$ and putting families thru the emotional hell of a trial when it's inevitable - :twocents: - that Bishop is *not* gonna get away w/ murder & do a little time in a hospital.

There are two people struggling to recover from their wounds, suffered at the hands of Amy Bishop. They are Dr. Joseph Leahy and Stephanie Monticciolo.
Both suffered critical injuries and are progressing slowly but steadily in their recovery.

I read some of the blog on Joseph Leahy’s progress. It really brings home the enormity of the actions of that self-righteous murderer, Amy Bishop. (In my head, I call Bishop much uglier names!) Not only did her selfishness and cowardly actions forever change the lives of the wounded, but the extended families and friends of the wounded and murdered have suffered immensely. (With the probable exception of Bishop’s parents, who basically gave their blessings to Amy when she murdered their only son.) My prayers go out to all of the innocents who have had the disastrous fortune to cross paths with Amy Bishop. May she reap what she sowed.

Man who bought gun used in Huntsville rampage won't talk

Last Update: 9:07 am

<snip>

Donald Proulx e-mailed The Associated Press on Wednesday to say he had been told not to discuss the matter. He referred questions to law enforcement.

A police investigator told an Alabama court Tuesday that the gun was bought by Proulx in New Hampshire in 1989 for the husband of the woman charged in the Alabama shooting. The investigator said the husband, James Anderson, wanted the gun because of problems with a neighbor.

What!!! Couldn't Anderson buy his own gun?...maybe he was afraid to if this was after the investigation of the pipe bomb he and Bishop had been investigated for. Bet his neighbors in New Hampshire are counting their lucky stars that Anderson didn't use that gun on them, way back when.

Also, I thought Anderson claimed that the gun that Amy took to the firing range (and used in the shootings at Alabama) was a "borrowed" gun...turns out it's all semantics...Anderson "borrowed" this gun 20 years ago. In reality, he had someone else "buy" it for him. They need to investigate him too. IMO. :furious:

I am really outraged over all of this. Even if they didn't charge her with her brother's case, because her mother said it was an accident, why wasn't she charged for what she did after it?Not one but two men testified she pointed the gun at them at the car dealership, yet she was charged with absolutely nothing? Nobody said what she did at the dealership was an accident, those two men were not her relatives. I think it's outrageous.

Amy Bishop has been indicted for the murder of her brother.

Amy Bishop has been charged with murder for the 1986 shotgun slaying of her 18-year-old brother in their Braintree home, according to Norfolk District Attorney William R. Keating. "The grand jury has indicted Amy Bishop for murder in the first degree,'' Keating told reporters today."Here in Massachusetts, we had evidence of a murder," Keating said. "We proceeded with that, as we should have."

I am amazed. I did not expect her to be indicted for killing her brother. I thought the inquest would be the end of it.

The MA charges may help the AL prosecution: "Broussard said the Massachusetts indictment may aid the prosecution here. The prosecution can rebut a mental defense with evidence from Bishop's entire life, Broussard said."

I am amazed she was never charged with anything when it happened, not that she is charged now. It's about time she is charged with first degree murder in the death of her poor brother.

I lived in Boston for 21 years, until last year. I think that has something to do with my amazement.

They also need to charge her mother for conspiracy after the fact, and charge anyone else involved in a coverup.
