Catherine is a princess! Apparently the royals can style their name. From the registry of the birth of Prince George.

Quote

Father's occupation: Prince of the UK. Mother's occupation: Princess of the UK . it can only be Prince George's birth certificate
Registrar travelled to Kensington Palace for the special signing - normally parents have to go to the register office
Occupations of the baby's parents are 'Prince' and 'Princess' of the United Kingdom
Kate lists her maiden name as Middleton and place of birth as Reading while William marks his as Paddington
The Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry had their births registered by Westminster City Council

Prince William is really cool. His two week maternity leave from the military ended and he went back to work. He didn't ask for special treatment, he just went back to work. Very cool! :thumb:

Well, this rumor has made the national news, here in the US (just saw it on ABC world news): William and Harry's former nanny has been asked to be Prince George's nanny.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ate-William-ask-nanny-care-Prince-George.html

From the article;

...Kate, 31, is caring for George full-time but has been advised she will become exhausted by combining motherhood with her future royal duties....

And on cue every non nanny affording mother screams "OH PLEASE!"

But dawlin', many of those non-nanny affording moms, myself included, ain't got royal duties. It's a tryin ting chile, fa true.

I am waiting to see at what age Prince George is sent to boarding school. I thought all the royal male heirs were sent at aged 8. A nanny is par for the course but sent off to boarding school at a tender age is less common?

Prince William has asked his former nanny to come out of retirement at the age of 71 to care for baby George.

He and Kate have approached Jessie Webb to be their 20-day-old son’s first charge – even though Princess Diana ended up sacking the no-nonsense East London-born carer.

LONDON (CNN) -
He may be the future king of Britain, but for now Prince George of Cambridge is just a little "rascal" according to his proud father Prince William.

Sitting in his garden at Kensington Palace on a warm summer day, the Duke of Cambridge, second in line to the British throne, told CNN that George is already quite a character in his first official interview since the birth in London on July 22.

"He's a little bit of a rascal, I'll put it that way," William told CNN's Max Foster. "He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger, I'm not sure, but he's doing very well at the moment." ...

The first official photos of Prince George have been released. They were taken by Kate's dad in his garden. The family of 4 (can't forget their furry companion lupo) looks relaxed and happy. The next official photos are expected to be at the baby's christening.

Kate Middleton's Life as a Royal Mom: Inside Her Routine, Her Workout and Her Shopping Cart!

Natalie Finn, eonline

Kate Middleton went back to her royal work today—and by just one glance at her you could tell that what she's been doing in the month since giving birth to Prince George has agreed with her.

But just what has the Duchess of Cambridge been doing?

Well, for starters, we know that she's been taking care of household needs since she and Prince William returned to the isle of Anglesey after spending the first few weeks of their son's life staying with her family in Bucklebury.

Will is back on active duty as a Search and Rescue Force helicopter pilot and Kate was spotted earlier this week shopping at Waitrose, an upmarket British chain that also happens to have a royal warrant to supply groceries, wine and spirits to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles. (A royal warrant means they're allowed to advertise that they have members of the monarchy among their customers.) ...

Kate Middleton and Prince William Reportedly Ask Royal Nanny to Come Out of Retirement

Rebecca Macatee, eonline

When Prince George isn't with Kate Middleton or Prince William, the royal baby needs to be under the care of someone trustworthy

So, according to a Sunday People report, the new parents are asking William and Prince Harry 's former childhood nanny, 71-year-old Jessie Webb, to come out of retirement to help out with their 7-week-old son.

William and Harry's former nanny was reportedly let go by Princess Diana, but is said to have remained close with the boys in the years afterwards. And while the report claims Jessie is "sorely tempted to help the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, she's concerned about having full-time duties again." ...

Call me old- fashioned, call me out of touch, but I think a person 71 years old is WAY too old to be a baby's primary caregiver as a Nanny.

They need to remember that decades have passed since William had his nanny.
Get someone in their mid- 30s who is mature yet still with quick eyes and reflexes to respond to things like a baby choking on anything a baby chooses to put in his wee mouth, or a toddler headed for the Royal duck pond and all that. JMO. I respect the wisdom of years but think agility and quick thinking comes into play as well.

I mentioned the same thing to DH last night when I reiterated what was in the article. While the former royal nanny might be spry and in relatively good health, there's always a chance that something could go wrong with little or no warning. I hope that Kate and William have considered the pros and cons of hiring a nanny and will make certain that they choose the right person to tend to Prince George when his parents are absent. :moo:

Prince William Says Prince George "Has a Voice to Match Any Lion's Roar!"

Zach Johnson, eonline

Is Prince George destined to be the King of England or King of the Jungle? It's too soon to tell, Prince William jokingly implied while speaking to guests during the inaugural Tusk Conservation Awards at the Royal Society in London on Thursday, Sept. 12. Making his first joint red carpet appearance with Kate Middleton since their son's birth, the first-time father joked about his 7-week-old's loud lungs...
