Regarding the bigger clothes - most women throw out maternity clothes, as they are tired of wearing them and if they are not particular maternity but just a bigger size they are stretched and aren;t comfortable.

I am not too concerned by the sizes of the clothing. When slothing around I love to wear big baggy clothes. As mentioned previously, they could have been pregnancy gear or tagged wrong when they were manufactured. I have bought clothes before that have been tagged the wrong size.
Re the size fading on the tag - some tags have the size embroidered onto them.

I get the picture that gbc is not the brightest but surely he wouldnt put someone else's clothes on Allison. He may/may not have put on her shoes though

I have a slight frame but I have to buy much larger sizes in tops because I have big shoulders and upper arms.

AMEN BJSLEUTH!

I am very petite in stature but can wear a size 12 top at times because of my broad shoulders and can fit into ridiculously low Country Rd size pants. And sizes then vary year to year - and I think in summer I have become a size 6 and wow in Winter I can wear size 4. Go figure it drives me crazy - particularly hate trying things on - like to get in get the stuff and get out - without stuffing around.

Anyway -I don't think we can really deduce anything from the size listed on the clothes - there is SO much individual garment variation in size - it is really not consistent across brands and unless the police actually measured the sizes of the clothes with a measuring tape - we are not going to be able to have benchmark for the sizing. No one (Toni, Elaine or sympathetic other mistress is likely to come forward and say 'hey those are my clothes why is Allison wearing them? ...."

Sleuthing is pretty limited in this avenue unless we have people who have these exact garments - and we would need picks which we don't have. So maybe we can agree that this topic hits the back burner until we do have an idea of what these exercise garments Allison was wearing actually looked like.

Here you go folks - bonds clothing size measurements:

http://m.bonds.com.au/size-charts

Tbh, the xxl measurement doesn't seem as large as I thought it would be?

Bonds clothing sizes are smaller than other brands. I checked the xxl top against another brand today. XXL was roughly a size 16. Bonds are known to shrink as well. Personally I dont think the size of the jumper Allison was wearing is a big deal at all. :moo:

Fellow Websleuths, does anybody know why Olivia was in Brisbane when Allison was killed.?

Just a first guess that it was end of term. I also guess that if you are homeschooled you need to document that your child has followed the the academics. However by having your child home schooled I assume you must also show they socialise with their peers. Her kids may be of a a close age group to the girls and all "social interaction" maybe recorded to support homeschooling.
All moo.

LOL !
I doubt she would have bought pants that size.
The only reason a woman (me) would have pants that size is if they had once been overweight and had lost it. (or from pregnancy)

I do not think she would wear pants that big ever !

Not to watch TV not even to bed.

She was trying to be attractive to her (lousy) husband and I'll bet she made sure she looked as good as she could around him.
:peace:

I don't think that she would have looked after her appearance that much, if she was going through one of her depressed staged, which I think she was at that point in time (recent increase of Zoloft dose, feeling insecure about him and wondering what he is doing in the back of the car the day before, etc.) The hairdressers visit was to be presentable for the conference the following day, but the hairdresser also stated she had large re-growth indicating she didn't care that much about it just before). IMO.

That is possible WWGY but the family didnt so looking for Allison. Didnt they go away for a few days instead??

Yep, and kids must have felt so anxious , as not everday the police turn up at you house, not what any " normal " family would do I'm sure

I joined WS recently, but lurked here from the time Allison went missing.

I've noticed how respectful and courteous all members are to each other, what a pleasure it is to come in to read and follow all you sleuths in action.

Thanks!

I think the clothing sizes are irrelevant , I have a size 12 bonds jumper that my 10 year old daughter wears to bed, she is little but it fits her fine , besides arms too long

I home schooled my daughter through one year of High School. I received all my materials through the School of Correspondance so it was the proper curriculum. I didn't have to prove that she socialised or anything like that. Sometimes her teachers would call her on the phone. I had a timetable and organised lessons in five subjects. Very time consuming. A friend of mine, a university teacher had approval to run her formal exams and helped occasionally with classes.
Being religeous, Olivia may purchase or follow some church run program. I have come across some pretty strange families that have homeschooled for religeous reasons and I don't think that they are doing their kids any favours by trying to indoctrinate them into a false illusion of the world. The children are down right strange and I shudder to think how they would cope as adults in the real world. Having said that, I guess it is up to the parents even if we strongly disagree.

If we don't behave, Marlywings pulls her magic wand and we go to the sin bin for a few days ;) .. but we love her!

do we know for sure gbc said that to the girls or was it just ow being sarcastic to the police questioning her about what gbc had told them?

It was in Ash's statement, as unbelievable as it was!

"Mummy fell down a hole and won't come back" ... IMO this has been twisted a bit over time. My take on this is that when GBC had to explain to the girls where Mummy was that morning, he may have said something like: "I don't know, she may have fallen down a hole" or "she may be injured somewhere" or "she may be lost in the bush", etc. I think the rest was been added later, probably by OW as a sarcastic comment, like others have said. Just my opinion.

From just my experience.. She was confident enough to have regrowth fixed with foils. Her job was not in sales. As TM would maybe say a lady of leisure. She knew money was tight moo. But when she is on the up and up she had her hair done and gobsmack... she went to a conference which cost money.... Had her hair done.. How assuming.

When Constable Ash asked OW what the children had been told that morning OW said..
shortly after 6am GBC told them mummy had gone for a walk and probably fell down a hole and would not be back. OW then asked "is that ok"

Thank you for your post! Glad I added moo. As just an aside .. indoctrinate them into a false illusion of the world. Food for thought as I have once enrolled a child in a school that said we are christian and we do not accept bullying. Epic fail on their part as those that are not kind are coonected to the school and teachers. Which says bullying is an imbalance of power.

I won't sleuth the clothing because I am sure the qps have got a lot of paper trails.

I get tint put in my hair, and it is normal for me to go 8 weeks between hairdresser visits. I just don't think this is a long period of time for a tint. I don't have any grey hairs though, so I don't know how this would look without a touch-up for 2 months. Also, a hairdresser's view of regrowth will always be a bit more 'judgemental' than the average person - some hairdressers are more likely to view any regrowth over a month as overdue IMO.

I get mine touched up every six or seven weeks, the regrowth is not grey either. Perhaps money was the reason for less frequent hairdresser visits, it is about $150 each time, so it is not an insignificant expense.

I must say all the photos I have seen of Allison, she always looked very well groomed.

"Mummy fell down a hole and probably won't be back" it makes me shudder each time I read it, I don't understand our anyone can say that to a young child.
