It was repeated tonight on HLN that Castro was assaulting his wife at the same time Michelle would have been there.... Maybe his x wife was there and she never told out of fear for her life. She died last year.

Ex-wife left in 1996. Michelle wasn't there at the same time.

Love how the hospitial said Michelle was able to make her own decisions!

Barbara Knight lives in Florida and came to Cleveland to see her daughter, tell her she loves her, and get Michelle the help she needs. But Barbara has not been able to do that. Family members said Knight doesn’t want to see her family.

Barbara and her lawyer have been unable to get information from the hospital and police. She said she couldn’t even deliver flowers because Michelle wasn’t taking visitors.

“Barbara Knight is a mother whose daughter has lived through hell. The actual hell. Worse than we can imagine. It was hell for her, too. She came up to be with her daughter, to hug her, to help her heal. She’s been stonewalled down the line. I don’t know why and I know it’s abhorrent,” Barbara’s attorney Jay Milano explained.

The family didn't even know Michelle was released from the hospital.

Metro Health Medical Center said Knight is an adult who is able to make her own decisions. The hospital is there to protect a patient’s rights.

Barbara said she feels she has rights, too, as a mom.

“I’m not saying Michelle is legally incompetent. That’s baloney. But nothing she says is reliable. Anyone that damaged doesn’t have a handle on what they need,” Milano said.

I'm doing this from my phone so I was unable to highlight the parts.

But mainly the last part has me deeply concerned for Michelle. If mom pushes the issue of her daughters mental state she might be able to take full control over Michelle. Make all decisions for her and control every cent she will get. Now since she has had no contact with her in over 10 yrs and the statements her son made about the mother I hope it would not hold up in court. Also, the fact that the lawyer says nothing she says is reliable could damage the trial against AC.
Now this is IMO: the mother is full of $hit and anything she says is not reliable. And from the first time I saw her on tv something seemed off about her. Too me I lean towards she's not playing with a full deck of cards. And I am worried that if there is an ounce of a chance she gets control over her daughter she goes back to living a life of hell. I believe Michelle was abused and neglected since she was a young child.
I think Michelle needs to seek a restraining order against her and anyone else in her family.

Hopefully what I said makes sense as this is a PITA to write from a phone.

Also, did anyone watch AC360 on CNN last night?? And if so did anyone get an odd feeling that the first missing girl they talked about could be the other girl that was mentioned as being there then gone??? She came up missing in 1995 or 1996 only 4 blocks away from his house. And the basement door seems to me was padlocked then from reports from ppl who knew AC and I thought I heard it being said that it was locked even when the ex-wife was there. I mean if he was able to pool the wool over everyone's eyes the way he did what was to stop him from locking his wife in a room and bringing in that girl and locking her in the basement? Or since I don't know the dates the wife moved from the house could it be that shortly after she left is when he grabbed that girl? Is that her name on the basement wall??

I haven't heard anything today but my thoughts about where Michelle is now..

Although the hospital spokesperson said she discharged from MetroHealth, it didn't say how or where. It could be that she was transferred to another type facility.

This is what happened with my brother who has mental problems after he had an accident. When he was no longer sick enough to require hospital care they moved him to an progressive care facility.

Either way I hope she is somewhere safe and getting the care she needs as I think she will have the toughest road to recovery.

That is the same timeframe that his daughter said they moved out of the house. Can't remember the exact date.

I also remember that in the beginning it was reported that LE found places of recently disturbed soil in the back yard and brought dogs in. Could be that AC had someone buried back there bur recently moved them as he knew his house was going into foreclosure for taxes.

That would explain why LE was digging in the back yard with nothing being reported as found. The dogs could have hit on something but the body never found.

On 20/20 last night, the DeJesus mom said Michelle was there. I dunno...maybe I heard wrong or maybe things have changed since the program's information.

Didn't watch 20/20 but found this on ABC's site and 20/20 is an ABC show.

Knight's grandmother, Deborah Knight, went to the home of Gina DeJesus today with balloons. DeJesus was freed along with Knight and Amanda Berry. Deborah Knight told reporters that she did not know where her granddaughter would go after being released from the hospital, but hoped she would go to DeJesus' house.

Michelle Knight, however, did not appear at the DeJesus home.

Reading over Michele's original missing person report (that a poster here linked earlier), she has a mental disability and gets confused. Ok, that is her mom's opinion which may or may not be accurate. However, if it is, as her next of kin, her mother may have some legal rights to get some sort of custody of her. I'm concerned about Michele's future and whether she is capable of caring for herself.

In the missing person report, she is stated as being 4'7" and 160 pounds, nickname 'shorty'. Unusual.

Regarding Michelle's whereabouts, seems that she is okay at the moment. (bbm)

-- While not revealing specifics on her location, a source close to the investigation told CNN that Michelle Knight "is in a safe place and very comfortable."

I read the book and it is fabulous! and yes she did state how she came back into society. she went with her family to a ranch. It was so good and isolated and let her heal that she started a foundation. My bet and my money is that she has already reached out to these girls to help. I do know that Dugard sent a tweet about the girls when they were found.

If she isn't with the DeJesus family, the one can hope that Jaycee has reached out to her. Michelle is going to need more support than Jaycee, Elizabeth Smart, Amanda, or Gina: all of these others had supportive family to run home to. This is what breaks my heart. Even at the ranch, Jaycee was with her mom and daughters. If Michelle were to go somewhere without the others, she would be there alone.

Wherever she is, I hope she is receiving all the love and care she needs to heal and move on. I do believe her brother may be with her - or know where she is. He had mentioned after visiting her that she was ready to leave this behind and move on.

Michelle is an adult. Just because she might have some mental disability, doesn't mean her mother has some legal rights or get custody of her.

I am less concerned that she has them but more concerned she will try to get them via court. That is the last thing that Michelle needs even if there is no way a sane judge would give the mom rights

Forgiveness is divine but do devils deserve divinity?

Certainly Ariel Castro, a man accused of imprisoning Gina DeJesus and two other young women as sex slaves for more than a decade, appears to be a brute beyond redemption — but that is exactly what DeJesus' mother, Nancy Ruiz, would offer him.

"I would hug him and I would say, 'God bless you.' I would say, 'God bless you,' and I'd hug him. I did not hate him. I forgave him years ago. I said it: I forgive whoever done it, just let her go," Ruiz told ABC’s “20/20.”

That family is amazing. Their faith is so strong, Gina has a head start on healing.

CNN is currently reporting that a house next door to Castros that has been vacant for some time is roped off by police tape at the moment and LE is inside "searching for evidence".

The house is yellow, just for the sake of being specific for those who do a lot of mapwork.

I believe that LE is going to have to make an announcement reminding media that Michelle is an adult and has the right to socialize with who she wishes to. And that LE is respecting those rights and will be giving her her privacy, including not releasing info on her wherebouts. That they know where she is, she is safe and she is being cooperative. Because media seems to be using this situation to put pressure on someone (LE, Michelle??) to speak out. Think of all the hype they could give a fight between Michelle and her Mother. I also think LE should give a warning that there could be possible charges if anyone tries to force one of the girls to interact with them.

Michelle is an adult. And unless/until some court declares her incompetent she has the right to make her own decisions and see who she chooses to see. If Mom doesn't like it, then tough.

I believe Michelle would have to be legally deemed incompetent (or whatever the correct terminology would be) before a legal process for guardianship would even be considered.
