snip......The two continued texting until 4 a.m. All of the messages seemed out of character for her daughter, Hadsell said. She did not want to go into detail about the messages for fear of harming the investigation.

Hadsell went to work the next day concerned but thinking her daughter might be just stressed out and in need of time alone or with friends.

snip.....Hadsell filed a missing person report at the suggestion of a Norfolk police officer who is the father of one of AJ Hadsell's friends.

snip..."You kind of look back, and you start replaying events leading up to everything, and the last few times I saw her, when we were together," she said. "And you try to find something that would raise a red flag now, knowing what we know, and there really isn't anything.... I do feel that she was taken from this house. I don't feel that she left willingly. That is really, at this point, is the only thing that I would say I know that happened."

How does JH know if know AJ was taken from the house, and nothing else? That puts us back to a 20 minute window. Wonder where the text pinged?

Then why did she (and others) say "A monster did this to her". That seemed pretty specific to me. I just can't imagine what is taking so long. I still think WH is guilty and haven't changed my mind. Will be shocked if it's someone else. When are they going to tell us the manner of death?? Could it be undetermined? Still checking every day, I don't want this to go unsolved. RIP AJ.
HS, you're doing an amazing job helping as you do. Just wanted you to know it's noticed! Muah!

Grammy, I agree - WHY does Jen feel like she didn't leave willingly? She has used the word 'taken' many times. I wish Wes would give another interview or at the least LE would give some kind of update. I'm beginning to think they are going to call her death undetermined. I would love to know where her phone was pining from during the early morning hours when Jen suspected it wasn't her. Jen and the entire household believed that if anybody could find her, it would be Wes. He found stuff all right...I think he had her jacket, phone, debit card and was trying to deflect them from possibly thinking it was him. Why would he go get her at 2pm in the afternoon? I wish I had made a timeline. Btw, where's lucky seven? What happened to bullhorn gal??

I just watched an American Justice episode last night about Brian Etenhoff and the death of his wife Judi. She died of a cocaine overdose, and he was convicted. The episode was called "Reasonable Doubt" b/c of the difficulty of convicting him. The premise was that he forced cocaine down Judi's throat after beating her senseless. Even their 5yo daughter testified that she saw her mom beaten by her dad the night of her death. Problem was Judi had been known to use cocaine.

It reminded me so much of AJ's case. Even the experts had trouble agreeing whether Judi's death was an accident or homicide, even though in the end her husband was convicted. Although it may be hard to determine whether AJ was murdered or took the heroin herself,
this case proves to me that it most certainly could have been a homicide. Praying that the ME knows enough to make a clear determination.

They could test her hair to see if she was a heroin user, right?

Just a couple more thoughts: what ever came of the dark Dodge caravan that the towing guys saw at midnight at the house where AJ was found? LE hasn't asked for help in identifying that car, so surely they know. Also, IIRC, AJ's phone pinged at the pond property - is there any connection at all to the property owners there? I remember someone saying the family that owned that property had a son who is/was connected to drugs in some way. The name Evan comes to mind? Am I off-base with this one? Could that be a friend of Wes'? I want a written timeline of Wes' every movement but that's wishful thinking. I wonder what the residue was on the scales found in Wes' motel room? coke? Heroin? He swears he never did heroin. But then he's lied like a rug so that's moot. Got AJ on my mind today. My 20 year old niece was here last weekend and we had a blast, movies/beach/restaurants/shopping and I'm missing her company. Just got the sads. :(

Without going into detail, there's a TON of information that was thrown around all over SM that was never confirmed by LE. Names, places, etc.

Unfortunately, a lot of people latched onto this stuff as if it were factual and/or mattered. Some of it might be factual, some of it might even matter. OR, none of it could be. This has been one of the biggest problems trying to discuss this case and it hasn't helped that LE or MSM hasn't come right out and said yes or no, to confirm or deny so much of the rumor.

I keep checking nearly every day to see if LE has given any statement and/or when justice might come for AJ. I believe it will, in time.

The crazy thing is, if Wes had never broken into that house, had never recovered her team jacket, had never organized those 'searches' and supposedly found her clothing items, then when she was found OD'd, people would have assumed it was a tragic accident. But by tampering with everything, Wes left his hame handed fingerprints all over the place.

Well, either way you look at it (whether he's a guilty or a frantic step-dad) he kind of HAD to do something, right? I mean, if guilty he sure couldn't just sit around and act like it was no big deal that she was missing while everyone else was so worried. If genuinely just a worried step-dad, he did what most parents would do **minus of course** breaking into someone's house. I still don't buy (and never will) that stunt was "what any worried parent would do". I've followed TONS of missing kids cases and MOST parents don't start breaking the law.

Great post, OM - you're right, parents don't start breaking the law, and threaten teenagers if they talk to the police. And do drugs, and hide scales, and ammunition. If he did it, I wish he would just confess. I didn't like hearing Jen say "It could be anybody". Sure would like to hear an update so like you, I will still be checking in every day. *sighhhhhhh*

I will say this again, no matter the circumstances that lead to AJ's death, she did not take herself to that abandoned house.

I agree, that's why I put stock into the towing guys talking about the dark green Dodge Caravan, the one who "drove around the back with it's lights off". Something feels strange to me with everybody clamming up. I think WH did it, I think possibly LE does, too - but with no action being taken, maybe there is no proof at all. I would be so sad, or still sad I should say. I feel for her mother, too.

I wonder what his Fall will bring, with school back in session, for AJ's family? I hope Zach and the girls are doing well.

Happyshoes, agreed. Whatever tampering with potential evidence, impeding the investigation, and bad decisions led Hadsell behind bars, from what I've seen since last Fall on WS, LE taking time may be encouraging. I imagine in this case, the family and community affected is within LE's sights as they consider their approach to justice, or this may just be thinking wishfully?

Classes started today for what would have been AJ's sophomore year at Longwood University. Heartbreaking that such a bright, vibrant young woman isn't settling in to a new residence, tweeting and posting about the flurry of activity and excitement of a new year of college life. I can only imagine how her friends, teammates and classmates must feel as they continue to accept that she's not continuing on her college journey along with them.

May they all have a safe, fun year of experiences and challenges. I feel certain that AJ would encourage them not to take for granted the life and future that's before them, to live. I hope they do just that. Live in the moment and dream big for the future they are fortunate to have before them.

God bless her family and friends. And those of us who have grown to love the spirit she exuded too! Bless us all.

#Justice4AJ please! :sigh:

The silence has been deafening. Even the loudest, most frequent of talkers have disappeared, gone silent or ceased contact. All the chaos of SM is even silent.

I pray it's the quiet before the storms of justice start to brew up some charges and convictions.

I had this same thought today, Pisces. Things have gotten too quiet. I hope, too, that it's just the calm before the storm; we've waited long enough and I just can't imagine letting this go unsolved. Hopefully, all things are in place. I was hoping Jen and family had an idea and that's why they were saying "A monster did this..", but to hear her say "it could have been anyone" is distressing to me. Somebody knows, I hope.

The truth in this case will come out eventually. I'm confident of that.

Are you confident? I wish I could be. :sigh:

- Assuming at least one person if not more was involved with the dark green caravan seen where AJ was found,

- that AJ didn't choose to acutely poison herself with heroin on her own,

- given the silence now, compared to the previous ruckus on SM,

- and the most recent 'it could've have been anybody' quote in MSM by AJ's mom,

then, it sounds like something is up. Information may be coming to the surface for LE in a way that would hush things up, at least. Her mom would naturally want justice for AJ and to know: who is the anybody it could have been?

Was there an appeal for information in the story, I forget?

Why would she say that? If it could have been anybody, then who does she think it wasn't?
