Just a quick question. I've heard the defense spout how they have evidence to exonerate Casey and that she is innocent.
My question is if they had evidence that would exonerate....why on earth would Casey sit in prison all this time and keep said evidence a big secret. What purpose would some shocking movie like moment in trial have.
The only purpose I could even begin to come up with would be for publicity, or wasting tax payers dollars in hopes of a lucrative book/movie deal. (Which in today's economy would be a good call on the defenses part  )
In all seriousness if there was some evidence out there that completely exonerated Casey. I can say for certain it wouldn't be kept a secret. Casey and JB would have been shouting from the highest peaks.
I think LKB is using nothing more then smoke and mirrors, and playing on the adage of innocent until proven guilty. Not that Casey is actually innocent, but is deemed as such until proven otherwise in court. It just sounds better the way the defense words it....and seems more mysterious. OOoooooOOoo
That and lets face it the Sam Sheppard case is a pretty famous case about the innocent being proven guilty and the defense is just trying to (not taint), nudge ("nudge" yeah that's the ticket) the potential jury pool I think.![]()
Strategically AND legally, there could be good reasons for not exposing evidence that will clear Casey until just before the trial. It would have to have to do with the circumstances in which Caylee died. I'm not saying this evidence or these circumstances exist, I have no idea of the defense case. But I can think of many different reasons why it would be better to go ahead to trial than attempt to get Casey off the hook now. I don't think the defense not approaching the prosecution with proof of her innocence right now is proof of her guilt at all. The absence of information is just that; an absence of information. We're going to have to wait for trial to find out what is going on.
