I have seen a lot of middle-aged women get caught up with "bad men" (for lack of a better way to put it). It seems that most of these women have low self-esteem and are drawn to "bad men" because they know how to sweet talk women and make them feel good. There have been a handful of cases in my area where women who work in prisons get caught up with prisoners and either lose their job because they are caught having sex with them or they let the prisoner move in with them once they are released and the prisoner takes them for all they are worth. People like this know how to spot a woman with low self-esteem and they know exactly what to say to the woman to make her trust them, then that allows the woman to be taken advantage of. Sad situation and it is possible this is what happened with Dawna.

Yep, look what happen to Alicia Debolt (14). The man who allegedly killed her and is awaiting trial had just been released from prison months prior and moved in with a local woman who was his prison penpal. She even stated at the prelim that she didn't know if she would still marry him...had to wait to see "how this all turns out"!!

Not saying all cases, but unless your a Angelina's look alike....the cougars get taken advantage of...most times for monetary reasons. Why would a young buck be seriously interested in a 40+ woman......

A = approximate site of the Christmas party
B = Dawna's home
C = approximate location of burned car (still unconfirmed whether Blond Road or nearer Decoy Road
D = Duck home
Person image = pond of West Main Haul Road, south of 298 where body was found this morning, 1 hour after volunteer search began.

If Duck's house is where you are showing, it is a direct line to the body of Dawna as she was found by the pond east of there, off the main hwy. There is a clearcut grassed area probably several feet wide on the map and it looks like it is for an underground gas pipeline (the white area has the above ground pipes). It stretches right behind Harding Lane and passes the pond.

I'm surprised the body was so close to his house though and in a fairly open area.

What is with the subtitle on this video? Shooting Investigation? Has anyone seen or heard an explanation of or justification for this earlier in the week? Simple error?

must have been an error - the link doesn't take you to the video any longer but my guess is that they put the wrong graphics on the story - the shooting investigation was in neighboring Hot Spring County and someone likely confused it because of Hot Springs Village

I wonder what on earth happened, if he did this? It doesn't sound as though anyone witnessed any altercation between them that night...but I know it doesn't take much for some people...how sad for her family. There isn't a man alive worth one's personal safety...

Actually, Dawna's best friend commented that Dawna wasn't herself, and didn't speak to anyone as she was leaving or say goodbye as she normally does. It was reported that she was being ushered out of the house by this boyfriend, KD.

So, it does seem that there was something brewing. Very unfortunate that no one was able to intervene before it became an irreversible tragedy. JMO

UPDATE – According to sources close to the search Dawna Natzke’s body was found in the woods by volunteer searchers in a community-organized search team who left Jessieville School at 8 a.m. She was found within 2 hours of the search initiating with the search being called off around 10 a.m.

Authorities would not say whether they think the body searchers found was that of 46-year-old Dawna Natzke. But her sister, Debbie Shingler, said her family think's it her, even though they haven't seen the body.

"It's not confirmed to be Dawna, but we all know," she told The Associated Press.

Although there are security gates at each of the central Arkansas town's entrances, there are no video cameras that would have recorded her leaving the community of 13,000 that caters to retirees.

**Snipped**

It is so inexpensive now to have cameras, I just don't understand why communities such as this don't have them. I'm in a rather small community in a smaller town outside of D/FW, and we have cameras. I'm sad for Dawna's family. I hope they figure out quickly who did this and justice is served swiftly!

I live in Hot Springs, but not in the village. I will say a ton of people are very upset at how this case has been run from day one.

I haven't dug too deep into this case but I've been reading comments from people who are upset with the local news stations as well.

Someone mentioned cameras and small towns. Yes, the village is small town but it's also basically considered a retirement community. Lots and lots of older people roaming around and lots of national forest as well.

I wish LE hadn't waited to start looking...precious evidence may have been lost.

My condolences to Dawnas' family, if it is indeed her remains --- what a terrible way to start the new year !

Recent developments in the Dawna Natzke matter

Natzke attended the Randall party with her boyfriend and her mother. Natzke abruptly left the party with her boyfriend leaving her mother and her purse behind. No one called the police. It wasn't until 6 a.m. Friday morning that Natzke was reported missing to the Hot Springs Village police by one of her three sons, December 23.

BBM. She left the partly so abruptly that she left her mother and her purse behind. I don't get it. Why didn't someone check on her, why did they wait 31 hours to call police. :waitasec: :(

Especially if she was pseudo muscled out of the door by Duck. Initially this was a case in which I thought he was acting out, she was in control and getting him out of there, prepared to return in minutes. But the text message which was a followup of concern by one of her friends who perhaps witnessed or heard of the nature of the departure from the party, coupled with reports that he escorted/led her out and not vice-versa, paint a different image - that of her being somewhat compelled to leave before she wanted to. So, yeah, when she didn't return for her mother and purse, contact that evening by colleague cops might have been in order.

I keep playing "what ifs" in my own mind, like what if she had refused to leave...

I really hope they nail this creep! I am so sad for the family :(.

This article says the car was found 5.5 miles away, but somewhere else I read that the car was found off Blonde Rd which, according to Google Earth, measuring along hwy 298, is approx 12 miles away. I guess I'm confused. :waitasec:

I think we're just going to have to be confused, until charges are filed or a the trial occurs.

It's still unclear to me where Kevin was dropped off. This article continues to say her home, he says his parent's trailer.

Earlier, y'all were talking about other cases where text messages had been sent after the person went missing. I don't recall anyone posting about the Michelle Parker case in Florida. The People's Court lady. A text to her brother. Phone was found in a lake I think.
