Thank you, kimi. Seems unbelievable that it is almost a year since he went missing. The time around the search for him seems so fresh in my mind. Hope there is news and this sweet little boy finds his way back to his twin sister soon.

From your link

According to the Searcy Police Department, the FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of Malik Drummond.

I don't know why that struck me as odd. Is it common for the FBI to offer such a reward in a missing child case? I know I could google it but I'd rather ask here.

It's been so long, someone refresh my memory: did we know LE suspected someone actually took him, as opposed to him just wandering away?

Does this indicate that the chances little Malik walked out that door and off on his own are pretty low, OM?

I never believed that happened anyway but I don't remember if LE actually ruled that out or not. I mean we all know it DOES happen in some of these missing toddler cases, but there was too much hink with this one to ever really believe it happened.

The fact that the FBI site has sweet little Malik's info on their KIDNAP page, tells me a lot.

I don't recall SPD saying either way. Interesting though are these tweets:

FBI offering $20k for tips that lead to Malik Drummond. @SearcyPD tells me new info came in. Someone knows something

His mom's family thought he may have been grabbed. She seemed searching for answers, even when, so cruelly, the yet to be identified little Kyrian Knox remains were found in Garfield Park. His father's family seemed more despondent of ever finding little Malik, from the start, given this was the second child lost to them. The whole casserole, bath, nap, who called who, left me hinky too.

I don't think they necessarily think someone took him. IMO they are offering the reward for info on the person
responsible for the disappearance". I guess that could include kidnapping, but would also include someone harming him and hiding his body.

I agree.

According to Searcy Police Sgt. Steve Hernandez, new information has been obtained, so the FBI created a $20,000 reward for anyone who could lead them to find the 3-year-old.

"We are still working with the FBI. There is still an investigation, but some information has come up recently, that makes us believe there is somebody out there that knows some information that can direct us in the case where we could come to a resolution and figure out what actually happened to Malik," Hernandez said.

Crossing my fingers. Notice the wording Sgt. Hernandez uses...

Thank you, MsMarple, me too.

Am taking notice: "somebody out there", "a resolution" of what "happened"... "to find the 3 yr old"

Was so excited this morning to hear this blurb on my local Fox 16 news! They gave a brief background of his disappearance and showed photo of billboard.Went thru their web page and fb page and could find nothing then came across this twitter on google. Any press is good news and hopefully this might help bring answers for this beautiful child!

Thank you, skibaboo and minnermomma, for this update from Ken Buffa, KARK4NEWS, who has updates on little Malik without miss. It is great news to see and the picture of the FBI billboard to help find Malik Drummond.

Great map again, skibaboo, Case Map: Malik Drummond

Thinkng of you Malik. I hope this reward finds some answers soon.

No new news but the video is so sad.

Payne (grandmother) has spent 355 days without her grandson. "He'll be home soon, just wishing and praying he'll be home soon."

SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Many THV11 viewers have asked for an update on the search for missing Searcy toddler Malik Drummond.

Debra Green with the FBI said the bureau continues to follow up on any information provided by callers responding to billboards about missing Searcy toddler Malik Drummond.

And another push to find Malik by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children:

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (KTHV) – Nearly a year after his disappearance, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is again asking for the public's help to locate missing Searcy child Malik Drummond.

The organization's press release reads:

"Malik is a biracial male with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen at home at approximately 5:54 p.m.
"The public is urged to call 1-800-THE-LOST with any information concerning the disappearance or current whereabouts of Malik. Calls may be made anonymously."

Searcy police said they have had new developments in the case but I guess we're not going to hear about them for now. :(
