BBM.

That's interesting Bayside. So no love lost then? TM dumps on GBC, lawyers up, receives immunity and the wheels of justice for Allison slowly begin to roll. It would be fascinating to know exactly what TM told the police. Was it about shady business deals, pre-meditated murder or both. Unfortunately we may never be privy to what TM divulged.

MOO.

Personally I doubt that TM was the one whose statements tipped the scales. I suspect it was Olivia's. And I reckon it happened last Wednesday, possibly Tuesday. Just saying. MOO.

A 1000 posts...lol

As plucka says they were once in love .....I don't doubt that......but that was a long time ago.

I have to go with my buddy Trooper on this one.....I reckon that naughty boy has had wicked thoughts of murder floating around in his mind for quite some time..... Moo

If it is proven he is guilty how shocking and sad this is...Was he an opportunist who married her as she would be an asset to the life he wanted to lead ? How could he dump her body the way he did and carry on at the funeral etc as if he knew nothing of what happened to her.. Beyond comprehension to myself. She had so much to offer and was a person we would have all liked to have known. I wonder did she give up her career willingly or was she forced/suppressed to do so for his ego?? So tragic...

I am so sure of the sympathy thing I am putting down $100 in pixels on the sure bet that will be his defence.. how hard done by he was..

I can't stop relating this particular crime to that of John Sharpe (the Mornington murder/s). He used the old chestnut 'I was so hard one by', 'she was manipulative and controlling'. There's also a striking similarity with Mathew Wales. He claimed that his Mother was controlling and difficult. It's almost like these characters have reasoned in their own minds how their victims deserved it. Like they are saving the world from these evil creatures that have made their lives so difficult.

I would bet the house on GBC using this line when all the finer details are revealed at trial or after. He will justify his actions by declaring ABC a road block in his life and was holding him back from true happiness. :banghead: Hello, just get divorced ... it's quite socially acceptable these days GBC.

These types are worth studying. They're very unique and almost belong in a museum. So weird.

It is fact in the Family Law of Australia that there are no "rights" per se for Grandparents , or Parents for that matter

The rights belong to the children, , if you like i will find the legislation in the Family Law Act

The article if you read it sets out that the family Court ACKNOWLEDGES the role, but doesn t state that they have rights. PARENTS do not have rights as parents, the CHILDREN have rights to have a parent

I think before this disintegrates we can agree that within the law the rights of the children are upmost but that as a parent or a grandparent there are precedents and legal arguments that would allow sensibility to occur. If the grandparents are a large part of the day to day life of a child then it would not be unusual for the grandparents to be granted some access in a custody order.

Child protection is a difficult and different issue. The QPS and DOCS would have had to have significant evidence to suggest that the children were at grave physical and emotional risk to have them taken from the BC's even with GBC in gaol. My understanding is that OW is designated guardian and that hasn't been followed. Even though GBC may have harmed his wife and under law there is a presumption of innocence, he has not to my knowledge harmed his children. I truly believe that there is something else in the pipeline for this family otherwise the Dickies would not have been able to gain temporary custody. I also understand that the Dickies had been completely cut off form the girls recently which may also have been an influencing factor. Sorry I cannot expose my source on this so MOO

Regardless of what we think or feel and believe me I feel a lot about this issue. Nothing has yet been proven. No one has been convicted and there is a lot of trial by media and a lot of attitude about who and what people think on this forum. We are entitled to believe what we believe and to raise an opinion. I so didn't want it to go down like this. I don't want GBC to have had anything to do with this. I have struggled to mesh what I know of this family and what is sprouted by others now and find they don't quite mesh.

I shudder to think what spin people could take on my life if it were put under this kind of scrutiny. See one situation one way, twist the view a fraction through someone else's eyes and see something completely different. I think this is the issue we in this community are struggling with. How could we live, work and play beside this family, socialise with them, have play dates with their daughters and not see any of this evil. Those girls have lost everything. I don't know how they come back from that even with loving grandparents. They have been exposed to evil and potentially evil their father brought in the door.

I hope that sensibility reigns in this and the girls are utmost in everyone's mind when decisions about them are made. They need very special handling and a major custody dispute is not in their best interests.

Thanks! If OW is designated guardian, what exactly does that mean and what role do the Dickies play in comparison, having temporary custody?

well. Gerard is a terrible driver... that I can say with confidence, and without knowing him personally.

Grannie - yes yes yes - you are stopping traffic (using special shampoo - remember the ad on TV anyway) - and yes yes yes we have been asking since day 1 of the investigation! Its tragic and heartbreaking that he cannot relate to the loss of his wife at any level? What do you think? 3 gorgeous girls and he still has no comment.....

Very sorry if I am stopping anything. I did not expect anything like that published so early in the course of investigation. Perhaps the media knew more than they could tell (speaking of fine relationships between the police and papers).

About GBC not participating in the search. It was hard to explain then but now it seems like a very poor strategy on his behalf. He could have at least pretended that he was hoping to find Allison alive. Now I think that somehow, he was not in control of himself (=was experiencing some cognitive impairments) and that's why hurriedly hired a lawyer. He could not trust himself and just withdrew from all (=fear of exposure). This could agree with the DV gone tragic version of events. After all, he may not be simulating mental problems.. JMO.

http://m.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/from-role-model-to-accused-murderer-20120615-20fa5.htmlQuoting his great-grandfather Robert Baden-Powell, the famed founder of the Scout movement, he told the senior class of 2008 and their parents that success equated to happiness.
"What is success?" he said.

"We were put into this world of wonders and beauty with a special ability to appreciate them, and also in being able to help other people instead of over reaching them and, through it all, to enjoy life ... and to be happy.

Media reported he met this second woman last year at a conference. TM has worked with him for much longer. IMO it is a different woman.

Media referred to TM as a former work colleague, and then the media referred to the NSW interviewee as an associate whom he met at a Gold Coast conference - not sure when. Two different women it would appear to be.

BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT
Hmm. There are some things I find odd, that IMHO seem quite suspicious but I can't personally say that I have sufficient evidence in front of me to convict and send a man away for life. Really need the evidence as distinct from the rumours. So far in terms of actual known facts we have he was the last person to see her alive, media report police confirmed her blood was found in one of their cars. I would want to know what evidence the police have all up. I guess for murder they have to give reason for intent rather than accident too. To arrest him one presumes they have more to their case, I'd want to know what it is first I think.

Hi Willough
I may be in the minority here but I believe that the NSW link is because TM went into hiding and she went to NSW hence the police going here to interview her there once again.
All IMOO

No, the woman in NSW who was interview was someone GBC met at a Gold Coast real Estate conference. Different person to TM, and as yet we have heard no more about this person. (I thin anyway as media has reported about TM being interviewed 3 tiimes, there would be nothing to stop them saying it was her who was interviewed a 4th time MOO)

Sorry, I see this has been answered a few times..crawling back in the hole now! ;)

Gerard wrote some great advice on his blog, the ExpertRealEstate blog.......... he has advice about darn near everything, but my fave currently is his one about Home Security...

How to stop strangers eyeing off your place, and hiding in the front yard and all this stuff.. dead bolts, windowscreens, horticultural advice and so on..

Didnt mention the danger actually living inside the bloody home with you !...

Hi spratsmum. I do not know if the girls were at home that night or not. My friend that spoke to her on the Thursday at the school pick up said that Allison was going to take her girls to ballet. I do not know how the girls are faring since GBC was arrested as the girls have not been back to school since last Wednesday. The school has been providing access to counselling services for those that need it. The children have been told not to discuss the case at school so that all the children at the school can experience familiar routines and not feel distressed. Thank you for making me feel welcome. You are very kind.

The girls don't do ballet on Thursday
