I put it further down that road because of the trees. But I'm glad I at least got the road right!

Does anyone remember where the still pictures were of bl's home? I keep looking but I cant find them.

Thanks

megsy, is the actual structure of his home on that map or is it a map that was made before the structure was there?

I HEARD a while back that the truck was burned. Everyone thought that was a silly rumor. But those that know him are saying again tonight that indeed he burned the truck.

Can we say these things? There are more "details" but I don't want to get in trouble.

What I heard is that his truck was the truck at the motel in Texas and he claimed his truck was stolen in Texas to the car dealership on Johnston that he was trying to buy a new truck from. Remember also someone saw the truck being escorted through Lafayette by six police cars.

Who Dat is associated with the New Orleans Saints football team, but in reality it is the name of a song that was published years ago and was not originally associated with the Saints. When the Saints won the Superbowl, the NFL tried to lay dibs on the phrase claiming they owned it, but that didn't go over too well. The term is listed on Wikipedia, interesting story.

BTW, the people who live in Who Dat Nation are appropriately termed, 'Yat's', because we have a way of greeting each other with, 'wheryat'.

You are correct about the song.

Actually, "who dat" is part of the New Orleans "Yat", a very poor manner of speaking (that I used to swear my dad invented - you should have heard him talk!). "Yat" comes from a popular phrase, "Where you at?", spoken fast, "Where y'at?".

Who dat comes from "Who's that?" like when someone comes to your door and you ask, "Who's there?". In N'Awlins, many times it comes out "Who dat?".

Honey, we got lots of 'em. (We have lots of them).

The original Who Dat song was so akin to our area, it was an easy fit for the Saints.

And to bring us back to why we're here:

In honor of Mickey. We're thinking of you and your family.

I just read from the tigerdroppings site...that he tied up a girl, blindfolded her and raped her, and the DA let him plead down to aggravated sexual battery! He served only 8 years in jail for that out of a 10 year sentence, and it is also said on there that he was a suspect 4 years ago when bones were found in Acadia parish, but they couldn't pin it on him.

:what:

My ex was once a public defender. He was so horrified by the justice system making deals with rapists and murderers but sending non-violent criminals away for life. He hated defending people that he knew were guilty. He is now a County Prosecutor that handles many death penalty cases and he refuses to make these deals with people that belong in prison.

Meth cases...it's a three strikes and you spend the rest of your life in prison with no parole. Rapists and child murders are freed every day to commit the same crimes over and over. Doesn't make sense.

Has anyone seen any media reports tying this Lavergne fellow to a 4 door Chevy Z71?

One of the posters reported a few weeks ago that one was towed from Bertrand Drive with a bunch of police cars following the tow truck. I don't know if they could have been towing it to the crime lab for testing.

not sure if the link will work b/c you have to "agree to terms" before using it. This is from the lousianna state registry http://www.lsp.org/socpr/default.html

It does say he owns a 2011 White Silverado and his last verification date was May 28th (not sure if this would be just an internet update or personal), but that is 9 days AFTER Mickey went missing.

Coincidence or have they been looking at him that long?!

verrrrry interesting. i forgot about that caravan. makes sense. hmmmm. i guess we will know tomorrow if it was the caravan or if it was burned. either way, silly that he would try to buy a new one in Lafayette. Duh!!

Also why they chose to deal with the calls, rather than come out and say they had found it already...

Even if they knew the identity of the truck right away they would still need people to report sightings of it. For one, every sighting could lead to additional evidence and also, to a body if that is the outcome.

If they told us early on that the truck was identified most of us would have stopped paying attention to it.
