Thanks, yeah I've been around computers my whole life. It's exciting following the trail.. I hope it somehow helps put him away for good.

By the way, I made a post referring to another pre-killvid post made by presumably Luka Magnotta himself. In that post, (it was just a few minutes ago, I will go back and edit it.) I stated that someone responded hours after he made the post (May 15th), and referred to the user by the name "Luka".. That forum does not have a feature that displays whether or not a post has been edited. So it's more than likely it's been edited since that person that responded to Luka on May 15th refers to the post in which she responded to in another thread that is about the kill vid.

I sincerely hope that Jun Lin's family are receiving support, dignity and are assured justice will be served for their son. Many of the subjects this murder has brought up are difficult subjects most especially in Chinese culture. I hope that we hear more about Jun Lin, who he was, his hopes and dreams and life goals so that we can be part of helping celebrate his life. This case is a dark and macabre case and we need to shine some sun on it as well. MOO

As for other evidence of premeditation, he posted on many (4) of his sock puppet accounts asking for video of the 1 Lunatic 1 Icepick video on May 15th. That is 9 or 10 days from when the murder even occured. So clearly he was planning to make the video and he thought of the name at least 9 days prior to the actually murder.

This url provides some information about Jun Lin before he died. They searched his Sina Weibo account (basically twitter for China iirc) to find some information about how he was doing before this occurred. It may seem disrespectful, but it refers to actual messages and images he posted on his account. I thought it was an interesting read. It mentions that all he wanted in life was to find love. He was openly gay (i think most people already know this), and they say that he was brave to be openly gay because it's a huge stigma in Chinese culture. He seemed like he was depressed before this occurred. This may seem insensitive or rude, but I am glad that he is no longer in misery. If he was in as much pain and suffering as his posts show, then he should be in a lot better place now. The self-portrait photo is sorta telling unless he meant for it to be a joke. He saw himself as not normal.

Side note: I didn't realize this, but did anyone notice that Luka had 3 different domains dedicated to himself? So ridiculous.

Also, the most interesting part of the case to me right now is how the video was put on the internet. The gore site it was posted on refers to a user named "A" (probably a pseudonym) for sending him the video. I want to know if Luka is A or if A got it from the deep web.

Hmm... indeed. IMO, stuff like this is why LE does not take online tips more seriously. It is why they ignored the original tip about the video. So many trolls playing games online. Imagine all the people that contacted LE about these accounts, believing they really were Magnotta? Imagine all the time LE wasted following up on these tips? Look at all the time we on WS wasted trying to figure it out. Multiply that by an extremely large number for LE. The resources could have better been used on other things. And all this in the name of what? Taking credit for Magnotta's arrest? I honestly do not think it had anything to do with his arrest. His own arrogance led to his arrest. Tips from people in France and Germany who had seen him led to his arrest, not troll accounts on youtube, sorry.

I agree with you. Was Beavis and Butthead one of those fake accounts created by this group? If so, I'm pissed because I'm one of probably hundreds who called in that tip to Law Enforcement and even had to provide them with my personal information. All in hopes that it was a solid lead to capture him and to find out it was all a scam? I feel horrible for wasting their time. :sigh:

Found a blog entry actually says that it is by Luka Magnotta written on the 15th May 2012 at 16:44pm requesting a copy of the video.... It's basically the same post that he'd written on the other forum, under the sock puppet babymaggie, this one though it actually states Luka Magnotta.

I did notice that LM had multiple domains dedicated to himself, and they all point back to the same page. I looked up the whois information, but he uses services that hide his personal information. Most likely, with a proper warrant, LE can obtain this information from the companies he used to obscure the registration info, so I wasn't too concerned and didn't think posting that here would make any difference.

They were old videos that he had once posted as user lukamagnotta1. People here found them archived somewhere (don't recall the link, or which thread it was in, perhaps somebody else is more organised than me).
I believe that ibechillin account is yet another troll that found, or knew about, those old videos and decided to use them to play games.

Lafreniere also confirmed police have a “raw” version of the infamous video of the murder that was posted to the Internet. It shows the perpetrator repeatedly stabbing the victim with an ice pick, then cutting up the body. Police confirmed that it also shows acts of cannibalism.

To me, Raw video means the uncut version. That's the term we usually use here on WS to mean uncut video and most news media outlets use this term too. I'm not 100% sure if the investigator means that term in the same way.

What does the fact that were hits from France mean? There are 63 million people living in France. Given the international coverage this story has had, the fact that there were hits from France is not surprising and does not in any way mean that Luka was one of them.

The same about Germany, from where you also say there were hits. Germany has a population of over 80 million people.

Unless you have more substantial 'evidence', I'd say that's pretty flimsy.

Great work. I suspect you are right about the person editing their post after the fact.

Do you think LRM created those pre-May 15th accounts to create some hype to sell the video, or to create a lame defense that someone else had done the crime?

All videos were uploaded on April 24, 2012.

I thought this account was also created by LRM, so he could point to say that someone had knowledge of the murder before it was even committed.

So you obtain a false passport to evade arrest for a crime, only to use a false name on that false passport, which links you to that same crime?

I'm sure the fact that he had been hunted by animal rights activists for years after the kitten killing videos-- and had evaded any kind of legal repercussions all that time-- led him to believe he could easily do it again, only this time with murder.

Arrogance and stupidity is a lethal combination when you're attempting to duck an international manhunt. LRM obviously had an abundance of both.
