If she thought that she was modeling for a magazine or some other promotional material, then she would have thought that there was money in it. Still, at the age of 35, it's a bit late to be starting a real modeling career.

Her boyfriend said that she had done some modeling--I put the link earlier.

Some of the photos in the media appear to me to be portfolio-type images.

If she had glued in hair extensions, what would have caused her, or influenced her, to go snorkeling with him in such a dangerous area?

Did he have a timeshare in Aruba and is that why police are asking to speak with anyone that had contact with him when he was there?

Still, a 35 year old model is at the tail end of her career.

Debatable. It depends on the category. Wonder why she lost her job at the dental office. Was she being flattered by this guy and convinced that she still had what it takes to be a model say in travel brochures, promotional materials for casinos, etc.? That, to me, is not out of the question.

I agree. Any woman EVER involved in "modeling" knows this.
However there are other "B" type pictures and film that are not as
well you know what I'm trying to say...

If she was there for a B movie or photo shoot, and everyone was in it for the money, then she shouldn't have ended up in the ocean or somewhere on the Island. It's possible, as someone suggested upthread, that she thought she could enjoy the free vacation and that she could handle the situation.

Are you thinking that she was lured there with the promise of modeling and money? Didn't she realize that she was past the age of modeling? I notice that you say 35 is debatable and perhaps acceptable for a casino brochure, but I'm not convinced. The latest rage is about a 9/10 year old model. If that's the age of appeal, 35 is way beyond any kind of legitimate modeling gig. Something about this reminds me of the Fiore/Jenkins murder/suicide.

ding ding ding!
Me TOO!

Isn't that something! There's even a similar look in terms of augmentation. We have a 50 year old guy that thinks he just won the jackpot, and a woman that may be still weighing her options. They are in a situation where she is isolated, and he is looking to cash in ... but she was thinking that she was cashing in. Wild and crazy with no way out.

From the Help Find Robyn FB:

Update: Detective DeJong of the Aruban Police said that there have been "new developments" but she could not elaborate on them now.

Prepare to read lines like these for many years to come.. :(

Stein said police have the woman's computer, which they are considering sending to the Netherlands for analysis, and the couple's rental car but no physical evidence of a crime. All they have is the fact that the woman is missing and nagging doubts about Giordano's explanation.

Sounds familiar.

All speculation, but I am reading G had an anger issue based on restraining orders etc.
If he felt he was being used by Robyn and read that email, I am thinking he could have lost all control.

So, did he premeditate her death?( if in fact he killed her)
Take her to the beach and drown her?

OR
Did her hurt her in the room when he found the message?

Too much speculation. Way too much. Try to control yourself at this stage.

I think the Arubans would be happy if the US assisted more directly with missing US women in Aruba, and I understand there is a new treaty waiting to be signed making it easier for Aruba to coordinate with the FBI, access information and address these situations.

It's a small Island. If she's not on the Island, then she's in the water. If she was strangled or somehow held underwater, then I think it was pre-meditated. If she simply floated away, given the fact that her companion has a history of abuse towards women and she didn't want to get her hair extensions wet, then even though it's improbable that she floated away ... it would not be premeditated.

It's interesting that there isn't much doubt that she's been murdered. There was only one person with her that she knew, and he hasn't reported that a stranger did anything. He has said that she went into a rough part of the ocean, and even though it was completely out of character for Robyn, she swam away and never was seen again. Implausible.

I think it's really important to find her body to find out if she was given any chemicals ... prior to going into the ocean ... if she really did go into the ocean.

The last real contact from her is at 2 in the morning where she says "this sucks". At 3 the following afternoon, her boyfriend received the "we'll work it out" email. At 6:25 PM she is reported missing. It's been suggested by her boyfriend and others that GVG may use keystroke software and Robyn's gmail account was active for at least a day after she was reported missing.

I suppose he was deleting all the email to and from her on her account? Perhaps between 2 AM and 3 PM the following day, something had already happened ... and perhaps the call at 6:30 about her being missing was an after-the-fact event. But where is she? He had a rental car ... so I suppose she could be anywhere ... in a well, in an incinerator, off the cliffs by the lighthouse ... or in the riptides.

I'm guessing that the FBI will be helpful in tracing all gmail activity, paying attention to post-cruise plans emails, and texting/email from 2 AM Aug 2 on. GVG knew that she didn't have a job to go back to, that she was lying to her boyfriend, and who knows what he knew about her contact with family ... but it may have been that it was sporadic. He may have assumed that no one would really miss her.

He reported her missing, he got a lawyer, he or the lawyer asked if he was needed for any additional questioning and then he proceeded to go to the airport ... where he was detained for questioning pending charges. I bet he was holding his breath the whole way to the airport. In a way, this system seems good today because a suspect can be detained from leaving the country even though the case is not yet solid enough to bring charges.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Nancy Grace, the victim's spokesperson and advocate, tried to down play the high risk lifestyle of accepting a plane ticket from a guy on the internet, also suggesting that it was quite normal for couples to meet via social media and to utilize freebie vacations that were assumed to be platonic. What Planet is she on? Social media is extremely high risk for meeting potential life partners and is not normal. Social media is common for people to stay in touch, but meeting strangers on the internet and flying into the sunset is a bit like Looking for Mr Goodbar ... even in the internet age. Utilizing people never works.

This is smoking gun stuff that could put him behind bars. It is also just the tip of the iceberg. More women will come forward. This guy is a predator.

You are over-reacting. You are. There is no evidence YET. It should become illegal to pre-accuse people like this.

Speculation from my part: GVG might have been the one sending that last email.
