Ashley Madison cheating website hacked, July 2015

The story of who is on the list only matters, IMO, if the person is a self-righteous hypocrite like Josh Duggar.
<rsbm>

Or if my husband's name is on there. :D

Ashton is talking now:

"2 years ago I was curious about the Ashley Madison site and signed up with a person credit card."

He is starting to cry

He apologizes to his family.

Denies using public computer. Crying

"I regret I have given ammunition to those who discredit our work"

Says he used his laptop to log on to the site.

Says he never ever used the site to hook up basicallyl (my words not his)

used publicly available wi-fi at work but used personal laptop and not taxpayer equipment.

Not proud of himself, regrets embarrassing self and family.

indulging a curiosity about it. Never allowed it to go far enough. Did something incredibly stupid. Post did the right thing. I should have been called on it. They did the what they should have done. Never went any further than exploring the website. Never explored any other sites but that one.

[paraphrased]

Admits he did something incredibly stupid and the media has a right to investigate.

He is taking full responsibility for his actions.

Says it never interfered with his work. EVER. Used his laptop at work.

Biggest error in judgement was doing this at all.

Hopes public compares his good work of 35 years to this one unbelievable stupid activity

" I did not commit a crime"

Asked if he visited the site 84 times. Says he is not sure if it's that much

Very difficult time for his family and that's all he wants to say.

He told his family himself before they read it on line.

No investigation because no laws were broken.

He did not meet any woman, did not communicate with any women at all. He just looked at the site

"Fact of the matter it was exposed, I was wrong, I was taught when you do something wrong you stand up and say you did it" (words to that effect)

He said he heard people talk about the website and he was so curious as to how this website could exist and that's why he went there.

As a prosecutor, you learn that sometimes good people make bad decisions and he made a bad decisions.

Had account open for almost 2 years.

He said he was interested in looking at the site but he couldn't do anything because he would never hurt his wife. Basically saying he went to the site but couldn't act on it because of his wife.

hopes this unbelievable act of stupidity on my part does not take away from the good work that his department and he himself has done and will continue to do.

as embarrassed as he is he did not commit a crime.

As bad a judgment as this was it had nothing to do with the performance of his professional duties.

Does not recall how often in the year or so that he explored the site.

Does not feel comfortable discussing his family's reaction, that is private.

Bad personal judgment but again - no crime was involved.

When asked his thoughts on the hacking itself. Has no opinion. The presser is about what he himself did not what anyone else has done.

when asked why he did not come forward as soon as the hack happened rather than wait to be exposed. Would have spared family this knowledge if he could have.

His only hope is that the people of the 9th circuit will look at his body of work over the years.

When asked if this has been a humbling experience.

"It is humbling experience any time you have to stand before the public and admit to human frailty."

"The only person I owe answers to is at home right now with my kids"

why no affair "couldn't ultimately do that to my wife"

"I think I've humiliated myself enough for one weekend."

"Tomorrow morning I go back to work"

[paraphrased unless in quotes]

And it's over. He says he goes back to work tomorrow and that's it.

That list is worth billions. So I guess money wasn't the motive unless it was done by the competition.

But the competition would lose clients as well due to anti trust of the whole discreet dating site thing.

Back to Craigslist and Backpage. Lol.

Those defense attorneys are going to be all over this tomorrow . The murder trial he is prosecuting right now. Questioning each individual juror as to did they see this. Sorry folks but Jeff is history.

Does anybody have a link to what trial he is on that is on Websleuths?

He wanted to do his last salvo before he is fired tomorrow morning when normal business hours result in the state speaking of what their reaction is going to be.

I'm sure he has morals clause in his employment agreement. and this has tipped the morals clause to kick him out.

Such a sad ending to a great career.

:moo:

It may have been curiosity but he had the account for almost two years? Pay membership one time for life? Or more than likely, he renewed his annual membership? I guess I need to go back and read from the first post.

I think this is a GIANT leap here. But we shall see.
