Police are specifically looking for information from friends and associates of the victims since 2006

They also want to hear from landlords, motels and caravan parks where they could have stayed since that year.

SAPOL and NSW Homicide Squad are working closely to complete the picture of Karlie's life, particularly since the birth of Khandalyce in 2006

"If you operate once of these businesses please check your records from 1 December 2008," Supt Bray said.

There is every indication that friends or associates – people Karlie may have met or been in contact with while travelling between 2006 and 2010 – hold the key to their deaths.

I think it's more likely that Karlie was killed at a house party or similar in Canberra, then her body taken to Belanglo while Khandalyce was being looked after by other people back at the house, who may have had ties to Adelaide and ended up there later ....

Paraphrased Australian newspaper article states that Karlie was killed in Belanglo. BBM

You know what's odd. If Karlie was killed between December 14-15-2008. The killer and/or the identitity fraud people must have been really sure of the code of her bank card. The card was used 24/11 probably when she'd just arrived, and made an ATM withdrawel (was someone observing her doing so). Then there was no activity for 22 days. And one or 2 days after her death, it was used again.

So was someone who knew her really well with her, who knew her code?

It is likely that the purchases/use up to 24/11/08 was done by Karlie herself. Then maybe her card was stolen at that time and only used again after her death.

Well after skimming and scanning, I've finally managed to catch up.

So we know Karlie was killed between the 14th and 15th of December 2008 and that she was killed in Belanglo, and that Khandalyce was killed after Karlie, at another location. Have I got the facts right?

One thing - they said the accused has been refused bail. Wasn't he already in gaol for something? How can they even think about bail if he's already in gaol?

Damn - I'm going to have to leave this and play catch up later again - I've got too much to do. :tantrum:

I guess his theory was to get in close rather than running away so no one would be suspicious of him.

With movements at that speed he could have said he was in Adelaide as an alibi when Karlie was in Canberra?

Did he take the short road past Wynarka to be there asking where Karlie is?

Then he goes over to Adelaide for Christmas, up to Alice for a couple of days after new years, and back .. the trip to Alice may have served the purpose of finding out if there was any local concern about Karlie, and to simply set up the beginning of the false narrative. It would be interesting to see what seeds he planted in the minds of people up there during his short stay.

Didnt media report that Karlie and her mother had some indifferences. Karlie decided to leave looking for work in Adelaide

IMO Karlie left the family home not long after having her daughter.
It appears she may have stayed in Alice Spring for at least some of that time if not all until 2008.
Maybe she left the family home in 2006 but she was still maintaining contact with her mother.
If she left the family home in 2006 where was she living and who with.
With whom was she associated .... who were her male and female associates and friends during this time.
