One thing I did think was about dance classes or groups that may recognise the child. I could be wrong but I don't think a child would have a black
Leotard if they did not belong to a dance club of soughts.

Possibly, but it isn't uncommon for some little girls to wear these kinds of dresses...it could have been a party dress :(. Some girls will even wear similar dresses to go to preschool, simply because they love to dress up.

Somebody is selling the same kind of dress in different colours on ebay.

It's so tragic that this little girl's life was cut short. I hope they can identify her and find and convict the person/s responsible.

Look at this, please! There are 25 pics of suitcase and clothing. - Several I hadn't seen until now.

Thanks FromGermany - more items to look at for sure. It's a shame the pics are such poor quality though - I wonder if that happens when msm publish them - compressing them or lowering the resolution? Surely the pics from police would be higher quality?? Or maybe it's intentional so we can't see some details clearly, like obvious blood stains or something, while still getting the idea of the style or pattern?

Distinctive handmade quilt found with child’s skeleton in dumped suitcase in the Murray Mallee

I thought the same but I feel the police usually keep some information to themselves for a trump card. Possibly a baby blanket or a plush toy that holds more DNA or maybe the suitcase was only sold in a particular store in a certain year or maybe she was run over and some clothes have rubber imbedded in them.

I cant figure these murderers out.
Good call TGY!!!!

Thanks FromGermany!

Dymples is sold in Big W. Not sure about Kmart?

The quilt is very distinctive. Someone somewhere would HAVE to recognise that hopefully!

One thing I've noticed about the clothes- there's no real consistency to the items. Like, there is PJ bottoms, but no tops, trackie pants, but no long sleeved tops, very summery and revealing tops (the halters and the dresses) and a winter coat. It's like a mishmash of clothing was just scooped up to bundle the little darling into. :(

I am now even more amazed that so many items could fit into this little suitcase with the poor sweet child.

Major Crime officer-in-charge Detective Superintendent Des Bray yesterday said sections of the quilt *material had already been positively identified and their origins being traced.
The quilt that was handmade specifically for a young child — bordered with a musical note pattern and with pictures of pumpkins and sunflowers, dragonflies, a camel and different types of animals completing it. The quilt was found in the suitcase that contained the skeleton of the child near Wynarka.
The 90cm by 90cm quilt had been machine-sewn — not hand-stitched as adult quilts commonly are — with the images selected specifically for a child. The images had been sewn over what is believed to be a polyester base.

“I would suggest, given the amount of work that goes into making one of those quilts, that someone loved that little girl and gave her that quilt,” Detective Supt Bray said.
“I would appeal to that person to come forward.”
He said because of the distinctive patterns and images, it was likely someone might remember seeing the quilt, possibly if they were visiting the girl’s parents or babysitting her.

Thanks for the link...

As for the brands, dymples is sold at Big W.

I had a quick look online for the brand "Gaf" and looked on the ABN page to see if there is or was a business under that name, as it looks as though that piece of clothing says "made in Australia" on the tag. There is a company that has the current name "GA Fashions" in NSW and if you look under the historical details they had a business name of "G.A.F. Clothing" from 2000-2007. http://abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbnHistory.aspx?abn=33001956047

This site also lists Gaf clothing as a children's clothing manufacturer/distributor... http://www.aussieweb.com.au/business/gaf+clothing+pty+ltd/1423264/

Obviously I have no idea if this is the same manufacturer of the piece of clothing found with the little girl, but thought I'd post this, just in case it is...

It's add odd mix of clothing isn't it, not many cold weather items.

Does the Dymples garment say size 2 or size 12? I think it's 2.

And are these boxer shorts? They look like mens don't they?

Thanks FromGermany. Pics of the clothing we haven't yet seen from the link above. The teddy bear 2000 pants were made in Australia according to the label.

I'm beginning to see why the suitcase was described as being weighty.
Wonder how much more was in it.

Maybe it was bought from a craft shop or farmer's market etc. Just a thought.
I'm sure whoever made it would know their work. But would they remember who they sold it to?

Thanks Tootsie. I've enlarged and enhanced the pic of the quilt. Someone surely has to recognise this.

The quilt measures 90cm by 90cm which would take her from bassinet, cot to a bed.

That's a very thoughtful long lasting gift which makes this all the more sadder.
