Could a law firm have more then one specialty such as say constitutional lawyers and criminal lawyers? I guess it will be on their website that was linked earlier.

That croup story has interested me from the beginning.
I wonder first, why she called it croup.
She had held a party the previous night, so she only got sick on Sunday.
I doubt she went to the doctor on a Sunday to get a diagnosis.
So why call it croup and not just a sore throat.

I also wonder why she told her boss she would not be in on Monday.
She sent the SMS around midday on Sunday.
Whatever was wrong with her, wouldn't most ppl her age assume she would feel better soon and may be well for work the next day?

I find that doubly strange because it was her first full-time job. She left school to start that job. She had only worked there for a week. Why risk her new job by saying she was sick 22 hours before she was due to work again?

There was a huge epidemic of croup in the Barossa lately maybe that is why she may have thought that. I had a very bad virus and initially thought it was croup, after going to the dr it was just a very bad virus not croup, but it did knock me on my bottom. I certainly wouldn't have been able to party that's for sure!!

let's see -um truro, snowtown, kapunda and then some other cases like heyward, mt barker granny bashed to death witn cricket bat by 2 - 14year olds and the one at elizabeth - another granny bashed to death by basball bat - any more

Hi, my first post. You missed the 'Family murders' (4-5 young males murdered - perpetrator jailed for life, but only charged with one of the murders - homosexual crimes).

Bombil....what an awesome post!:woohoo:
Still digesting....but you do raise some interesting points. The first thought that springs to mind is grr on the suppression of details. If we knew what the parents were wearing when they were killed we would know if they had been awoken from their bed to a disturbance, or if the attack had started when the family was awake.

The other thing we would know is if they all ate a meal together that night as the food would still be in their stomachs and able to be analyzed. If the parents had the same meal, and Chantelle had another then it can be safely assumed they ate separately, if they all ate the same meal, and there were remnants in the home (dirty dishes, leftovers in the fridge etc), then they ate at home.

I do think it's possible that he started the attack on C incapacitating her, he was disturbed and attacked and killed her parents then returned to her, but it could be the other way around, that they were killed first, but as you say that would have awoken C and she would have had time to escape.

The fact that three people were killed, and not all could have been killed at the same time, so therefore some family members could have escaped leaves many questions unanswered.

Found this forum while trying to find more information on the case, the first two threads were full of good investigation, it is becoming a little more speculative now. I hardly think Adelaide has a monopoly on strange or brutal murders in Australia. A few that come to mind, read up on them if you are interested:

- Tasmania, Port Arthur massacre, 35 killed, 21 wounded.
- Victoria, Hoddle Street massacre, 7 killed, 19 wounded.
- Victoria, Duaps murders, 3 killed, 3 others suspected.
- New South Wales, Backpacker murders, 7 killed.
- New South Wales, Granny killer, 6 killed.

I also wonder how much of the news coverage and attention given to this case is because one of the victims was a young and photogenic female. In the same week, a 59 year old Vietnamese market garden caretaker called Tuyet Van Do was murdered in the out-skirts of Adelaide. I don't recall his picture being plastered across the local news web sites. I guess it doesn't shift newspapers and generate internet advertising revenue quite as well.

In regards to the Kapunda murders, something still doesn't sit right with me. I don't think SAPOL would have made an arrest lightly though, the damage to their reputation, and the community fear that the killer is still out there would be too high. I am interested in facts and hopefully over the next 24 hours more will become available.

There are many definitions of party. I wonder what kind of party? I kinda imagined them all sitting around listening to music and talking. Or was this a full on party with drinking etc?

Yeah I have noticed a few local facebook pages in kapunda that some people have had a nasty bug of some sort that comes back. I recall a comment being posted of hers here, where she was commenting on the sickness coming back after thinking it was gone, probably the same thing.

She had apparently been sick for a few weeks before her murder, she had thought she had recovered. She'd said something like...I'm sick again I thought it had gone away.

Ah, the recent epidemic explains the reason she said croup.
But even so, I still wonder how she was so ill at midday that she sent the text to her boss about niot working Monday, then was able to have a "D and M" with a friend on Sunday evening.

One of her friends said " i was wit her saturday nite n i was talkin 2 her lastnite.."

(that being the Sunday night)

Given the abundance of cameras these days and digital photos, camera phones etc, photos are very common. In the early days of the case I wondered why the was not one photo of the parents. The one they have shown is very old.

I wondered too, but then i heard on the news they said they had to wait for family and friends to approve/give the go ahead to release a photo of the parents.

Hi! and welcome.....the list of weird murders in Adelaide goes on and on once you start thinking about it doesn't it...have the Beaumont Children been mentioned (apologies if yes) .. oh and the body in the freezer murder http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/...house-demolished/story-e6frea83-1111116155523 Yes, Adelaide has certainly had it's fair share of unusual murder cases that is for sure!

I recall it being published by the media that they had a Roast.

Full on party

Yes, Adelaide has certainly had it's fair share of unusual murder cases that is for sure!

Too true!

Has anyone ever dared to suggest that perhaps that is because we just have an incredibly incompetent police force here?

(joking - a bit)

Yep I remember reading that, he commented that she didn't mention that anything was up (e.g. boyfriend, family problems etc).

I should mention - the convo I posted above is not with either the b/f or the accused, but with another male friend.
