This video of the search is so underwhelming, all the more depressing because it seems so contrived, like more of an exercise in public relations than any serious undertaking to find Carly. They couldnt even feign a sense of urgency or get a few extra standins on site to make it look more convincing. So theyre searching areas around and nearby the premisis Carly was last known to have visited but have neglected to check inside the premisis Carly was last known to have visited?

They need to go over the ex's house with a fine tooth comb, and cadaver dogs. If something happened there, it can't be hidden. You can't cover up all the residue, and that is all that requires detection. Sorry to be so grim, but this should be a thorough examination of that residence.
Opinion and speculation only.

Yes. This is a pic of the park with the new "lizard" slide that is to the Lt of the picture in the article ( probably 50mts away ).

I'm pretty sure that it would have been standard police procedure to thoroughly search the last place that Carly was known to be at.

Also I'm not sure that they were "searching" at the park, but rather had a command post set up in the car park. Calgaroo ave is not far from the park.

Police in Strike Force Karabi, set up to investigate the disappearance, escalated it from a missing person case to a suspected homicide, prompting extensive searches in December of the estate and surrounding semirural properties where Ms McBride was last seen.

Those searches failed to find trace of her, but Muswellbrook police said today that efforts were being renewed this week, with extra resources brought in from as far afield as Sydney. Cadaver dogs, police divers, the police air wing, Operational Support Group officers and police trail bikes will be used in this week’s efforts, but Detective Sergeant Ian Wright said they were not only looking for a body. “We’re looking for any other items that may assist us,” he said.

NSW police force press release -

Police have ramped-up their search methods in the Muswellbrook area as they continue investigations into the disappearance of a Belmont woman, who they believe may have been met with foul play.
Carly McBride, 31, was last seen on Calgaroo Avenue at Muswellbrook about 2pm on Tuesday 30 September 2014.
Officers from Hunter Valley Local Area Command were alerted when she failed to return to her Belmont home and couldn’t be located or contacted.
An investigation has been ongoing since Carly’s disappearance, with detectives following a number of lines of inquiry.
Police continue to hold serious concerns for her welfare and are investigating a possible homicide.
Police have this week (Monday 16 February 2015), commenced a targeted search of locations in Muswellbrook area, focusing firstly in the vicinity of the Ironbark Ridge Estate.
The search involves local police from Hunter Valley Local Area Command, with assistance from Northern Region’s Operational Support Group, Rescue Squad, Dog Unit, Police Divers, Air Wing and Trail Bikes.
Hunter Valley Local Area Commander, Superintendent Craig Jackson said police are keen to speak with anyone with information on Carly’s disappearance.
“Extensive searches and inquiries have led detectives to believe Carly was met with foul play and is now deceased,” Superintendent Jackson said.
“Any information received from members of the public via an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers – no matter how insignificant the information is – may be the key to helping police solve the mystery of Carly’s disappearance.
“Police working on the case, would like to bring closure to Carly’s family and friends, as well as bring justice if foul play has indeed occurred," Superintendent Jackson said.

It sounds like our heroes in LE are determined to find justice!
I hope they take their dogs and their luminol and go back to the ex's for another very, very thorough search.
Opinion only.

There is certainly a large police team looking for Carly & for some answers. The police chopper has been flying all day.

They must have some good intelligence to be putting forth that investment of resource. It sounds like they are very determined. Surrounding LE with prayers for a successful outcome. God Bless!

Is the media not allowed to name her Ex? I've seen her current partners name mentioned several times, but not her Ex.

Don't think they can until he becomes a POI. Seem they haven't makes you wonder if he has been cleared from involvement or LE have just not interrogated him enough
