I am pretty sure we decided that The date on that letter was July 16. I found it interesting that according to the dog buyer, Chantelle seemed frantic about getting her to leave so quickly, enough that she forgot to pay her and had to return with a check or something like that...

But, she bought the dogs on July 14.

Which makes me think Chantelle post-dated that letter because it sounds like they were leaving that day. Why even date it at all?

I really wish we could read Tony's note.

I just don't but that.

Why sell the cars? The dogs? Clear out the home? There would be no point. What would they need money for if they were just going to kill themselves. That makes no sense. Even for Felton.

Also, the BBM at the end there... wth? So they are dead because Felton hasn't popped back up with his usual tricks in online forums? He is hardly going to be shouting "Hey! It's me, Gary! I killed my friend and my family, I'm over here!" He'd be under an alias for sure. He's done it before.

I know it's possible that all of these events happened as they did and that they could still be dead, I just don't buy it.
What she said in the inquest was only an opinion. I don't believe that she travelled to the sites nor interviewed any witnesses herself. It is possible therefore that her opinion is a reflection of the investigators theory and has not actually given the investigators any further avenues to look into than what they already did. In a way this could be self perpetuating confirmation bias. Most likely scenario, doesn't always = actual events.

Just reading back the inquest news reports so far and I'm more confused than ever. Simon apparently left before Chantelle but reports say that the 4 left together. A nannup friend got told by a member in the USA that he heard Simon was dead. During that ph call with nannup friend to Chantelle she says that police are at her place??? Chantelles ex boyfriend was escorted out of town by police after a run in with police some time before they left. I would love some dates to all of this stuff....

If Gary was that controlling over Chantelle would he really leave her with Popic alone? I have read Popic is gay but is he gay or bi I wonder? What I mean by asking if he was bi sexual is could Chantelle and he had feelings for each other?

Good question, because it would appear that Gary had already offed himself or had gone by the time that the lady came for the dogs. Maybe he was hiding and lurking somewhere else in the house from the visitor? The behaviour of Chantelle described by the dog lady seems like a hostage being ordered to get rid of the visitor as quickly as possible. IMO
But who was holding them hostage is debatable.

BBM--I have been thinking that too. Perhaps Garysimon imposed a suicide pact and Tony helped the others to trick him and survive. Substituted their drinks or something. Then it was an emergency to hide his body and disappear themselves because by taking part in the pact they would have been at serious risk of prosecution regarding Garysimon's death. Perhaps Chantelle then became remorseful and killed herself (but Leela?) after all, and Tony cleaned up and ran away.

I don't think she would have left leela. If Simon was out of the picture I think she would have tried to contact her parents. JMO. Would love to know who the ex boyfriend was. As others have said she was young and somewhat naive sounding when she met Simon. Unless they were not together as a couple at some point after she met Simon and had another relationship but he got back into her head and she dumped the other guy. All just my thoughts. Who is the ex..... The billion dollar question..

It would've been on the Nannup Police Station's running sheet if it happened.

The guy getting run from town or them being at the house during the call. Both were mention ring the inquest. Don't know if it was from the witness mouth or police though.

Looks like the coroner won't be publishing a report on this inquest for a few months yet. Once we have that, we might find some answers and leads.

I hope so. This has bugged me for years and the little info put out has just made it more annoying. I hope the family get answers. I don't hold much hope though :(

In the hope that any of the missing are still alive and just gone to ground, I will posts links that I found of anyone currently quoting from Gary's book, running courses based upon Servers of the Divine Plan, or the New Call, or anything that is just a bit too coincidental.

Some examples

Disclaimer. I've contacted someone in Queensland and an Ashram in NSW, some years ago, where courses based upon Gary's work had were being run, but without any luck. No one responded to either enquiry as to whether they had any knowledge of the missing persons.

A reasonably good summation of the inquest in this article.

On*July 14,*2007 Perth woman Cathryn*French drove to the*Nannup home to buy their dogs. It was the last known time Chantelle was seen alive.*

Ms French told Coroner Barry King she had prior*phone conversations with both Chantelle and Mr Felton who said they were immigrating to Brazil.*Ms French was a travel agent and offered advice to Mr Felton who rejected her help.*

When emails to Mr Felton*bounced back, Ms French phoned Chantelle about the dogs.*Chantelle told her that Mr Felton had already left. Ms French phoned Chantelle again about picking up the dogs and was told to come that day as they were leaving.

When she arrived at the home around 2pm she went inside with Chantelle to get the dogs’ belongings and thought it was strange that the house was still furnished if they were moving.*

Ms French asked about her daughter Leela, who she did not see at the home, she was told Leela was unwell,*that*she was*with their roommate in the caravan and needed to go to hospital.

While Ms French was at the home, Chantelle disappeared into another room which was later revealed to be Mr Felton’s bedroom.*

When Chantelle came out, Ms French said she appeared anxious and she*felt like she was trying to hurry her away.*

On her drive back to Perth*Ms French realised she had forgotten to pay for the dogs. She had a missed call from Chantelle when she arrived home and called her back to arrange the payment.

A few days later, Ms French received a phone call from a woman wanting to know why she had called that number.

BBM.

That whole bolded part just makes it look even worse for Leela. Why would she be so worried about this woman collecting the dogs, if her daughter needed to be taken to the hospital? And why would she feel the need to lie about Leela's whereabouts if she wasn't sick? I'm guessing that Leela was no longer alive at that point. (I say this when this whole time I have thought there is a possibility that both Chantelle & Leela are still alive).
