The Telstra contracted rope manufacturer’s website states there are 2 types of rope that Telstra uses:

If the Telstra "specific" rope was used in the rapes/abductions, WAPOL would have known it belonged to Telstra. Also, if a Telstra vehicle was pulled over in a vehicle check, WAPOL would perhaps think it was for work purposes. Does anyone else have any thoughts on the topic?

Had mine checked yesterday at Broome airport!

Yes, it is more likely to occur at regional centers where they don't have the self check in counters etc.

I fly interstate once or twice a month and Sydney back to Perth is pretty much the only leg I ever get asked and if you only have carry on luggage you don't need to show ID. I dropped my mrs there last week and she had boarding pass downloaded on phone so we just go straight through security screen and to the gate. Don't even need a boarding pass until you ho to board. Has been that way for years. Lost my wallet at the Melbourne Cup one year 2010 I think it was and was worried they wouldn't let me on the flight but no issues.

IMO, you'd drive to Broome for only 2 reasons: 1) if you wanted to do the touristy or fishing thing on the way up, in which case you'd likely drive the coastal road and stop at places like Exmouth, Carnarvon etc. or 2) if you wanted your own car while in Broome (you can hire a car if you fly but most you're not supposed to take too much 'off-road' (GRR is usually ok) or on the beach. If you just wanted to go Perth to Broome as quickly as possible the inland route (through Meekatharra etc) is slightly shorter but less scenic.
Many people visiting Broome to see family will fly and borrow a car once there. As I said though- unless you were making a holiday of it on the trip up or back, in which case there are many, many options of places to camp/ visit/ fish.
A wonderful and diverse holiday state!!! IMO of course!!!
My thoughts regarding the fishing is that can be done whilst in Broome. BRE has family in Broome and possibly could borrow their car.
Travelling by road is a very long and tedious drive. The profiler mentioned that the CSK liked to drive, which is interesting. MOO

"If the Telstra "specific" rope was used in the rapes/abductions, WAPOL would have known it belonged to Telstra." :CV.

Agreed CV ,
It has ever been made public what excactly it was .
Initial reports say telephone cable and later report says washing line (both i presume
Described as having a plastic type coat).

Neither of those descriptions sound like the telstra rope in Petedavos links
imo.

Apparently it's available at Bunnings

So there goes any way of proving it has to come from a Telstra Van anyway.

Anyone know what's the brand of that spray dye that they spray on the ground to mark out where Telstra cables and stuff are underneath, or where to dig etc?

There are a swag of brands and vendors. Common names include inverted paint, utility paint or striping paint. I like where you're going with this..

It would appear that Telco Haul ropes are used over and over again. Note photo, difference between old Telco haul lying on the ground attached to the new Telco Haul (must've been a long conduit). Lying on the ground where it can come into contact with sprayed dye on the ground markings. I bet almost every coil of used Telco haulage rope in a Telstra van is contaminated with these marking out dyes, conduit glues, and such crap.
If the dye on whatever it was that was used to tie up the Rowe Park abductee (Karrakatta rape) was this marking out dye, then you don't need to worry about screen printers no more.

So, is there any surveyors or utility workers on here who can share a picture of the spray on dye that they use to mark out where stuff is etc? Might narrow down my search if you could help.

Telstra probably have their own store, where employees fill out a goods issue docket and pick it up. We could probably phone Telstra, ask for their store phone number, then phone and ask what type of line marking they have. They might think you're a rep, selling the stuff.

Perhaps Telstra provided in-house training on the various chemicals used. Including training awareness on chemicals capable of knocking someone out. Such as, how to avoid accidental exposure. As someone suggested before contact cleaning fluid would often be used.

At the time, the crews possibly made jokes about what the various chemicals could be used for. My apologies for not including women, but back then, the ratio of men to women would have been very high. MOO.

From the above PDF.

Later on I'll google up Telstra tenders, common use agreements and certifications to see if I can narrow down the brands and then find out from Material Handling Sheets what's in them etc.

Here is the Telstra ropes I got from my landlord in the early 90's. Approx 1993. He would have known BRE for sure as they both worked on installing phones. I am not lying to you either.

Could BRE have line marking paint in his Telstra wagon for Little Athletics events? More on the shoebox soon.

Looks like the catamaran has been around for a while. When's the last time that floated? My deceased uncle had an orange catamaran once. My aunty made him give up his ski boat and hang gliding when he overshot the South Perth beach and landed on some girl's balcony next to the old mill. So he bought a catamaran with the money. Till he learnt to fly, but that's a different story of accidents and near misses :)

It is a 12 foot Windrush Surf Cat. I had an orange one, but now a blue one. I did own a yellow 16 ft Hobie surfcat. It was once owned by a Commodore of a yacht club in Frestwater bay. And that is the absolute truth too.
I never got to sail it. I sold it as well as some Jarrah flooring which was worth a bit. To pay for a court case that I later got off. The charge was dropped.. Did someone say they heard Telstra workers went sailing in their surfcats? My landlord did not mention of it.
