Logic would say that forensics could show evidence of dog attack.
Even simple forensics.
And we would've heard about a dog attack.

If WAPOL recovered dog hair, surly they should be able to tell what breed of dog. Although they found hair they've never mentioned what type of dog.

I'm wondering if they recovered dog hair from JR. Although they didn't have any DNA evidence from the perp. perhaps that's what put BRE at the scene. These are only my thoughts and opinions.

He has lent his insect expertise to high-profile cases such as the Claremont serial killings and the 1997 murder of 11-year-old Gerard Ross, in Rockingham. “Most of the big cases I’ve worked on remain unsolved,” he quips modestly.

The truth is, that Dr Dadour’s expertise is so great the Perth professor has been invited to the Body Farm in Knoxville, Tennessee, to show 40 FBI agents how insects can solve murders

Gerard Ross

Police were ready to charge one local man after they found blood traces in his car and evidence that blood had been washed off a wall in a room at his home where he kept model aeroplanes. But the cleaning agent used prevented DNA from being extracted. Blood traces were also found at the suspect’s parents’ house.

The Director of Public Prosecutions wasn’t satisfied there was enough proof to proceed with charges. Detectives re-examined their suspect “with a fine tooth comb multiple times” but couldn’t find that extra skerrick of evidence they needed to get the DPP across the line. See above article. MOO
Gerard went missing about 9.30am from an average suburban street. If a Testra employee was working within the Rockingham area, there would probably be a work order.

The media hasn’t advised there was a commotion or if anyone was screaming for help. Perhaps a Telstra employee might have gone unnoticed; working on one of those small pole things, when Gerard walked passed and perhaps asked the employee what he was doing. Boys that age ask lots of questions, and perhaps was taken to see a telephone exchange.

I’m going to do a lot more reading on Gerard Ross’ abduction, because his abduction occurred six months after CGs. In both of those incidences was a utility vehicle seen within the vicinity of the dump sites - that's prior to the bodies being discovered.

These are only my thoughts and opinions.

Has anyone found out any info about the male body washed up on Cott beach a few days after the BLF was found? I've been looking for ages & can't find a skerric! Was he ever identified?

That person was found on 13 July 1988 and thought to be aged about 45 - perhaps he was never identified. The only missing person around that time was Peter Butt (aged 31) last seen in East Victoria Park on 18 June 1988. missingpersons

Imagine if they had said it was from a from a Jack Russel and they got 10,000 calls dobbing in Jack Russel owners they would have to spend the time and overtime checking them out.

The real life adventures of Maggot Man and Insect Girl
Sydney Morning Herald 5/92010

http://www.smh.com.au/national/the-...aggot-man-and-insect-girl-20100904-14vdo.html

He has worked on hundreds of cases, including the Claremont serial killer investigation in which three young women were abducted and killed between 1996 and 1997 from the Perth suburb of Claremont. The killer has not been found.

The one case, he says, which affected him deeply was when he had to pick maggots off the hand of a murdered 11-year-old boy. His son was 11 at the time

White Ute….

A couple of Websleuths and Bigfooty discussions have mentioned a white ute seen, within the area prior to the dumping of bodies - JR & CG. The discussions make reference to an early newspaper article, which I’m unable to locate. Perhaps people became confused with the Gerard Ross details.

JR - http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...ller-1996-1997-Perth-Western-Australia/page52 - Post 57

Below is an article regarding Gerard Ross, whereby a witness reported a white ute being within the dump site vicinity.

You'll notice that the Boston University Medical School*bio doesn't mention that he got sacked from University of WA for misappropriation of funds, but just says that the Centre for Forensic Science got shut down.

IC: Wark's trial (Judge only) in Court 2 Supreme Court building in WA - is about half way through, in no way has it finished.
Nothing to do with his current trial but just thought I'd make the comment.... I thought he was a very unlikeable person. He was very disliked in the Badgingarra community. I dont recall him having any friends there. There was something very unpleasant about him. I didn't 'know him' nor did I want to....just knew who he was.

Thanks ESH or Eaglette, I just assumed it was finished as there have been not reports since 25th October that I could find. https://thewest.com.au/news/wa/ex-cop-describes-red-flags-in-hayley-dodd-case-ng-b88640061z

Do you think it unusual that he had sold and left the district 4 weeks after Hayley disappeared?

I lived on a farm near Badgingarra at the time of poor Hayley's disappearance. Either just before or just after she disappeared, there was an incident at the Badgingarra Tavern where Frank left his dog in the car (station wagon) in the car park with the tailgate window down. A close friend of mine walked past the car & as she was leaving the tavern, patted the dog as she went by. The dog launched at her & mauled her face. She fell to the ground & the dog jumped out and kept attacking her. She was rushed to RPH & had 13 hrs of micro surgery. She has also had 5 operations since to fix her face & is still scarred. Not 100% sure but think this was after poor Hayley's disappearance. He actually went to the hospital the next day when she was just out of surgery & tried to get her to sign a document freeing him of any responsibility for the incident. I believe he left the area very shortly after that but I'm not sure how long after that incident that the house was sold.

b. he didn't do it (defence)

I think leaving town was the only thing he could do. I suspect he had some kind of deal with the friend that bought his house so he could buy it cheaply. Maybe he's there to be the keeper of the secrets. Wark would have needed cash to fund his departure.

At the time we all thought it was to avoid any prosecution over the dog attack

The police seem to have been working hard on the Gerard Ross case. They have had a few poi's. I wonder if they have found that BRE definitely wasn't associated with it. They have been busy going over the case since January. Coincidence that after BRE's arrest in late Dec 2016 they started going over everything again. If there was a chance of BRE being involved would they be pushing on with looking for more information. MOO

Someone asked recently if we felt BRE had anything to do with GR.

I personally don't. In general child abusers operate in the day and if not for themselves with a "shopping list from a group. It is a very complex world. This attachment gives some insight.

Andrew Patterson finally gave up his attempts to expose the extent of child abuse when the Police refused to let him speak at the Police Royal commission he intended to name names. I have that cutting somewhere I'll try and find it.

Detective Tells of Suspicions

He was a frustrated detective who should have been a fortune teller.

On September 16, 1996, Andrew Patterson wrote a memo to his WA Police bosses about the lack of resources for fighting the evil of paedophilia.

"Our current response to paedophile crimes, including the criminal use of computers by these persons, is insufficient," he wrote. "In my view, this agency would be criticised should it become subject of an external inquiry similar to the Wood royal commission."

That prophecy might soon be put to the test by a looming royal commission into how agencies and institutions across Australia have responded to child abuse.

Hi Janwa, I initially felt the same about GR but am now not so sure. As BRE has not been found guilty of anything to date, I prefer to use the name CSK in my posts. I try to keep an open mind & innocent until proven guilty etc. Have done a lot of reading about Sociopaths & Psychopaths of late. Without a doubt in my mind, the CSK was a total fecking (sic) PSYCHOPATH. I wouldn't be at all surprised at what is revealed about the perp at some point. We will probably all be very old people before any details of deaths are revealled. I seriously think this excuse for a human was capable of anything. I think they enjoyed the hunt, torture & kill.
