Did you notice any strange smells/ghosts/large men in kimonos while you were eating lunch? Where you ever in the area on verge collection day? I think we are on to something here....

Smells Yes, ghosts no, large men in kimono - no comment, verge collection yes.

I think I saw a large smelly man dressed in a kimono stealing used clothesline from a verge collection whilst he was hiding some kind of tool box and a Toyota Camry amongst the other items.

The car was driven about a kilometre away to Karrakatta Cemetery where she was raped, police allege.
Police say the distraught woman then ran to a pharmacy at a nearby hospital, believed to be the Hollywood Private Hospital, where staff arranged for tests to be conducted.

SARC. Sexual Assault Resource Centre was available by then I would presume she was taken there. It is attached to King Edward though a separate building. They specialise in collecting forensic samples.

It's interesting, here's one of the old articles. The description seems about right in basics for Bra ..... I wonder if the victim noticed two doors closing at the back or one and if the police have found it?

If they have, there must be no evidence of Sarah being in it, hence the plead to help locate the Camry.

None of the earliest reports called it a commercial van.
It was called a "panel van".

"The Rimmer Mystery. Fears confirmed:Victim" The West Australian 11Jun96.
"she was abducted near Rowe Park on Gugeri St by a man driving a light coloured panel van"

"The Glennon Mystery. Chill Hits with new chapter in Crime" The West Australian 22Mar97 "her assailant was driving a light coloured panel van and was described as being 183cm tall, of medium to solid build with brown collar length hair"

Do you think the kimono looked like a homemade job , as in could it have been made at screen printing classes

I would imagine the mode of transport would have changed over the years.
Huntingdale likely a bike, no engine sound, can get into the bush easily and quickly.

Karrakatta We go with the victims description she was there. (panel van would suit the purpose.)

Claremont strip Commodore wagon more private than commercial looking. Can pass as a taxi.

The car described in the Cottesloe abduction was a 'hatch back or station wagon'.

Article mentions that "he didn't say anything that I remember - he didn't try and to talk or call out" - this has been noted previously on WS by Spooks as being similar to KK attack where perp did not talk.

To not talk, really shows control IMO
It would make a victim feel even more terrified

The Cott victim escaping and being recaptured before escaping again has always got me thinking about KK victim. Its always been reported that she was let go, but maybe she wasn't. Its pitch black in there at night and theres only limited spaces to get maneuver a vehicle. I wonder did she up and bail and he just couldnt get to her again or couldnt find her again?

Going over lots of old forums, articles and found this one. Of course, most of it we have seen before many times but the BBM bit about a 13 year old girl's murder very early on perhaps being attributed to CSK? I hadn't seen that anywhere previously? As it says in the article, it was one of the stories floating around. But the bit about the plastic lined boot, well that one wasn't so far fetched was it? Just weird popping up like that. Wonder who the poor little girl was? And just quietly, the comment of the cop to the poor reporter was delightful wasn't it? Today being International Women's Day thought it was worth a nod!

Quotes from the article:

“Journalist Ros Thomas was working as a reporter for the Seven Network's Today Tonight at the time of the killings and she was invited to spend a night with Taskforce Macro.”

“All of a sudden, one of the cops turned to me and said, ‘You’d be the killer’s perfect victim. You’re a size 12, fair-haired and curvy,’” Thomas said.
Also there was so many stories swirling around Perth: stories that a man was driving around Claremont with an axe, masking tape and black plastic. Stories that a 13-year-old girl who was murdered years ago was his first victim.”
“That’s another thing the cops told me. That most serial killers practice a lot before they get their 'perfect murder’ and there were a string of crimes that had similarities to the Claremont killings. Then the killer got good at what he was doing and that the three Claremont murders were finally his perfect murders.”

Probably Sharon Mason, with incorrect age. She was 14.

Oh thank you so much No Name, didn't know about Sharon Mason. Will do some research and see what I can find. How horrible to think he might have "practised" on a young girl. Perhaps it was a rape that went bad and he was too aggressive and killed the child? But wouldn't it be incredible if this information jumping out about this cold case could lead to re-examination of old evidence with the latest DNA techniques? Or was somebody already charged with this crime do you know?

SARC is only ~500 metres down the rod from Hollywood Hospital.
