Yes. Your scenario resonates with me Peter. In my opinion the risk of getting caught transporting a body would be reduced if you were driving a "taxi", especially if there was an accomplice sitting in the backseat although I'm still wondering about the 2 person scenario.. There was apparently an abduction attempt in October 1995 by 2 people in a "taxi" although we have not heard much more about that? The brickie suggested there were 2 people in the car.. It could explain the end of the attacks if the 2 fell out over something to do with CG.
I thought I would add a couple more Feb 95 photos to look at 1. JR site and 2. Bush land near Karrakatta Cem.
1. Despite some recent commentary about JR's site being dense bushland, it was in many ways open other than the section she was found in.. The area has over the years become revegetated and is all now quite thick. People mention that she was found near water but the site was coming out of Autumn and doesn't look like it would be wet until well into winter. On checking the records for 1996 it seems that June in that year experienced almost twice the average rainfall that only started the night JR was abducted. By the time they found her the area is likely to have water on the surface in pools and drains but not at the time of her abduction.

Second photo.. 2 sections of reserve on the Eastern side of KK cemetery. I am assuming here that this was the site of the initial rape. Hollywood hospital is just East of this area where the girl stumbled to. This photo was taken in Jan/feb 1995. From what I can find the rape took place in Feb 1995. Interestingly, if you look at the photo somebody has lit a fire off the internal track. A long stretch but if the photo was in February just post the rape could this have been an attempt to remove evidence?.

Great photos. Really gives some scope to the era. It would be interesting to know exactly where that rape happened. I would say it would make most sense that it happened somewhere around the Westernmost tip of that bushland in the second photo of Hollywood reserve you posted. She then would have probably ran South East along that gravel track to the Monash Ave gate, which is the most distinguished entry along there.

I don't think he would have ventured too far from the vehicle. I actually think a vehicle may have been a perfect way to conceal what he was doing. He may have then exited at the exit on Smyth near Aberdare.

Does anyone here have any knowledge of this crime? I asked a person I know from the area what he remembered and he said the rape wasn't well publicised and that he only found out about it recently.

Interesting that the most likely entry for this rapist was that one on Government Road. No one would have known about that entry unless they'd been shown it by someone , or if they had driven past it down that dead end street. Speaks of local knowledge. It's also interesting that the main entry for JR's workplace backed onto that entry.

Let's also forget we've got the description in the paper of the man with long hair. I wonder if she managed to feel his hair during the attack to ascertain it was collar length. So many questions so few answers.

I don't recall reading this but I have a sketchy memory. Are you able to post a link to the brickie article?

Has anyone else got it? Is it in the repository on WS?

Bart, it was reported In Perthnow. Search "taxi ciara glennon" and it's pretty much the first article that comes up
quote below:
“I saw him and he obviously saw me and stopped,” he said. “I had to brake and pull towards the side of the road. It was definitely a Ford Falcon and it was a grubby thing too. I saw the front more than I saw the side. It was definitely a taxi.

“I thought there might have been someone sitting in the back,” he added.
“I avoided him and carried on.
“I thought it was really unusual ... It was definitely unusual to have a near miss with a taxi with no lights on.”

Thanks - I recall that now.

Thanks for clearing up the site. Are you saying there was definitely water in that creek when she was abducted? Most drains etc in this type of country are dry until mid winter.

No idea, but there was a lot of rain in the 57 odd days JR lay there and it has to go somewhere once it hits the ground. She was right near the reek and therefore right in the middle of a run off zone. Lots of water would have flowed past her into the creek.

So it's almost certain there was water in the creek after she was dumped. Before - don't know.

I remember hearing that Jane Rimmer was placed faced down and was right underneath thick trees that had to be chainsawed down in order for them to do a proper forensic examination. Judging by where the cross was, I think she was placed on the bank of the mini-creek as opposed to the very bottom.

I think the killer went to lengths to conceal her body as I remember a poster to this forum said local residents took that road daily. Remember also, she also mentioned the ute that was seen at the exact spot which peeled off when her friend from the riding school approached. I don't think that in itself is damning. It's pretty much a dead end part of that area that someone was easily lost at.

“I thought there might have been someone sitting in the back,”

I think you either see someone or you don't. Interesting to see how sure he was that it was a falcon. If it was an EF or an EL, they look quite similar at the front to a VS or VR.

She definitely wasn't in the creek. But placed within meters which means rain water would have flowed past and around her into the creek. The CSK also definitely didn't make her easy to find. 57 odd days later and she was found by a once off person who ventured into the bush a few meters to look at a big flower.

Imagine if that person decided not to venture further off the road that day? How much longer would have it taken for someone else to stumble across her?

Is it possible SS was a similar dump and it's just been unlucky that no one has stumbled across her?

Anything new or revealing in the last 40 pages or so? Anything related to the karrakatta attack ? Is MM still of interest?

MM was never of interest and was simply a ploy to create discussion amongst POI's during the 2008 CIA doco, no need to look into it any further then that. This is reliable information.

i spoke to an x detective today who was prominent , he was lets just say involved in a MAJOR case in the 80,s
I asked him who he thought was responsible for the CSK's his reply, they know who done it they just cant prove it
LW .............

The Karella St Reserve (Hollywood reserve) Might be interesting. I have been there, but I doubt anyone is there but you never know what may have taken place there a long time ago being so close to the Cemetery. Top comment Elwood that I liked recently. A long write up.
Let`s face some facts re the case. The ladies trusted someone. Had they met him 2 to 3 times before? And then thought hey this guy is ok. He`s cool. Aside from a pal in the back seat how are you going to do this abduction? It won`t be a knife . Someone recently discounted a knife also. What about a loop rope? Over the head & under the knees & a quick tie up with a couple of half hitches? Looks just like a solo driver is in the car from pedestrians on the footpath.
So they have VR/VS fibres from Karrakatta. I recon he could have hired a car & what if he had a prang on purpose? Over a year it ends up in Japan to be recycled. Also more what if`s? The Rope clue at the Screen Printers. That was a Media Beat up accd to what I was told. That means they got carried away with that one, not the Plod. They say they link Karrakatta to CG. Did CG know the blokes or the guy in the white car. Did they offer to sell her something. She was pretty friendly re the chat. Why have they not come fwd? If you have done nothing then why not.

Yes I've wondered about the MO for SS. That's what got me interested really. If the pattern of route and dump method for Jane and Ciara could be used to find Sarah and get her home to her family.. Wishful thinking probably!

did all the POI's have cable television? why was it aired on pay TV rather than free to air?

I totally disagree;
My say; The head of the Special Crime Squad did not know of the single frame showing MM INSIDE the Conti Pub by the Stairwell until I emailed him the frame just before his transfer. He fwded my email re the photo frame to the new SCS head. And he said for them to contact me. They have not done so as to date. Guess that Pic re this new lot in the SCS can be called Caporns Capers C/ups.. :) To the Previous SCS head; You did a pretty good job with what they gave you to look at. But why won`t they publish the MM frame inside the pub? Because they could have shown us all his image a long time ago, eh? :)
