LE Stated in this case they didn't suspect foul play, however found the body and arrested Ashley. I'm still not convinced this was suicide. [emoji848]

I’m not convinced either but suicide is the (albeit close) second most likely COD on my list after an accident. Homicide is (a distant) third.

That is an interesting situation, both being employees of the Sheriffs office... the victim and the accused.... a woman accused of murder, too.. . thanks for the headsup there, Suspicious.. appreciated.

Elisa’s passing is such a tragedy for her loved ones and those who loved her. She seems to have been a beautiful, intelligent and loving woman. God Bless her and her loved ones.

And again: Cremation. Odd that in obscure cases there are always gladly again cremations.

I would think they have kept more than enough samples of any parts for current as well as for future testing for cremation to not be a concern.

Thinking about it, if someone close to me only had body part remains rather than a whole body I'd be inclined to cremate too... Somehow it seems more dignified and mind peaceful than to always know that all you have in a burial site is a few scattered body parts and not the whole person...

Cremation seems to be the norm these days especially that finding vacant burial sites in most city Cemeteries is almost impossible these days.

So obviously the remains have been handed back to the family. Seems like they don't expect to find any more remains. All so sad.

I'm trying to find the article that showed police on jet skis looking beyond the breakers when found Elisa on the beach. LE might have been looking for articles, like shoes or clothing which might have indicated if that beach was the entry point.

Unless she had 'man made' injuries, like the imprint of a hammer on her skull, it will be near impossible to conclude murder. A fall from a cliff would hide any 'man made' injuries.

Speculation swirls about body found near Anglesea[/h]The questions started coming soon after the grim find on a beach near the small seaside town of Anglesea
Ever since 43-year-old Elisa Curry vanished on grand final night from her family's holiday home in nearby Aireys Inlet, the mystery has been the talk of the neighbouring Surf Coast towns.
O'Donohue's Beach, the rough strip of coast where the body was found, is about seven kilometres across the water north-west of Aireys Inlet. The famous Split Point lighthouse can be seen from the beach. Sharks have been spotted in the area.
The back beach is isolated from the main part of town, drawing just a few walkers and their dogs as the surf is too rough for swimming. A few surfers braved the swell as police helicopters hovered overhead.
Police on jetskis search for evidence at the beach near Anglesea.

They may have been looking for clothing, etc. They may also have been looking for further remains.

I don’t totally discount homicide as a COD either, tgy. I put it last on my list based purely on the dearth of evidence to that effect reported by police, in MSM and after reading crime and death statistics.

I can see where you’re coming from and you’re absolutely correct. It may be impossible for the forensic pathologist to arrive at an unequivocal COD in cases such as Elisa’s based on autopsy alone. That’s why the Coroner will take into account police and medical reports and Elisa’s social history when arriving at his/her findings.

How very, very sad. Rest peacefully, Elisa. :rose:

Is this what a mother would want for her children? To disappear without a trace? No answers, no closure, no way to try to accept what may have happened?
Because if Elisa’s remains had not (by chance) washed up on the beach, disappearing without a trace is exactly what would have occurred.

There is a permanent rip tide at Aireys Inlet, at the northern part (closest to Anglesea). With eroding bluffs. Surely Elisa would have know about these things, especially with her children in surf lifesaving.

It makes an accident seem unlikely, to me. And I cannot reconcile that an intelligent woman like Elisa may have thought it okay to disappear without a trace, leaving a messed up situation for her children to eternally cope with.

Perhaps the police are thinking similarly, and that is why an investigation is ongoing.

Aireys Inlet is a holiday settlement spread for 3 km along the back of the bluffs, on the north side of the actual Aireys Inlet. Below the bluffs is a series of small, south-east to south facing beaches. The only readily accessible beach is Aireys Inlet Beach (322), which is located at the mouth of a gully. It has a small car park, and steps down to the beach from the end of Eagle Rock Parade. The beach is 500 m long, and is bordered by 20 m high headlands and rock platforms composed of red sandstone. Bluffs are eroding along the back of the beach, particularly the southern 300 m, which is a narrow strip of sand awash at high tide. The surf zone is 50 m wide, with a permanent rip against the northern rocks. Aireys Inlet South Beach (323) is a small, 50 m pocket of sand fronted by reefs. It is located below 30 m high bluffs and is essentially inaccessible.

Swimming
Aireys Inlet Beach has the best access in the area and is primarily used by the locals. However, it is a hazardous beach with a strong rip feeder current running along the beach and a rip running out past the headland. Take care if swimming here.

Surfing
There are beach breaks over the bars and southern reefs.

Fishing
The rock platform at the north end provides the best location to fish the permanent rip channel.

General
A popular beach with the locals, but one requiring caution.

We still dont know for sure if she did leave any indicators of her possible actions at the house or not.

Also, she may have had an accident while not thinking straight. Maybe she mixed alcohol and medication. She could have even made a crazy decision like going for a swim while not thinking properly.

Very, very sad for her husband and kids. Im hoping there is something they know about the story that we don't that's giving them closure

Yes, there are a lot of instances of 'maybe', in this case. Nothing seems very certain at all, or even highly likely, it seems.

One neighbour told police Mrs Curry had prepared for bed about 10pm, after the two had spoken of a personal matter. That conversation has formed part of the police investigation.

..... Mr Curry was "doing it pretty hard" and the family, including the couple's three children, had been referred to counsellors.

The corpse was found on Wednesday near Anglesea, seven miles from his Aireys Inlet holiday home, by a woman jogging with her dog. The animal started digging in the sand: the unsuspecting mistress approached and made the dramatic discovery.
